Knight in Another World (Complete) - Chapter 92:Plans
After enlightening Dylan, Janine continued her job as matchmaker and gave Dylan some ideas. “Listen, build some romantic tension between you two and when things are getting hot, you swoop in and confess. She wouldn’t be able to refuse.”
“I’ll even make some nice clothes for the two of you.” Charlotte added. “A good opportunity would be during Christmas. You can get her a present and take her out to a fancy restaurant and finally, confess!”
“Ah, don’t we have to go to a party though?”
“No, that’s on the 23rd. There’s no problem.”
“Then its settled. You can confess to her on Christmas.”
“…” Dylan was speechless at how smoothly they were planning this all. “You ladies are getting a bit ahead of yourselves.”
“It’s because you’re so wishy washy! Now, go finish making my dinner!”
Dylan pursed his lips before reluctantly heading back into the kitchen. Along the way, he didn’t forget to leave a few words. “We’ll continue this talk later.”
A short while later, the sounds of cooking that were coming out of the kitchen came to a stop. A fragrant scent wafted through the house and the girls naturally walked into the kitchen.
“Is it ready?” Janine asked. Dylan nodded and served the girls some pasta.
“So, what we were talk about earlier, can we continue?” Dylan hesitantly asked. He seemed to be embarrassed, his cheeks getting flushed and he couldn’t bring himself to make eye contact with either of the ladies.
Charlotte laughed and complied. “We can take you out to buy her a nice present some time, and we can help you choose a nice place as well. All you have to do is invite her out.”
“I, I don’t have money.” Dylan revealed with a red face.
“What happened to the money we gave you? The pay for modelling.” Janine questioned.
Dylan tilted his head sideways, confused. “You didn’t pay me for that though?”]
“You didn’t pay him?!” Spaghetti fell from Charlotte’s open mouth when she exclaimed from shock.
“I did!” Janine felt wronged and tried to defend herself. “I transferred the pay into your bank account.”
“You do! I remember making one for you, and I even gave you the card when I gave you everything else.” Janine yelled.
Dylan paused to think. He remembered that Janine had once given him a stack of papers that Sherry said were for identification purposes so he stuffed them all into his storage. He didn’t really go through them since he didn’t need them so they just remained in his storage forgotten.
“There might’ve been a card in there.” Dylan muttered.
“I put a few hundred in there for you. It should be enough for one date.”
“You’re so poor Dylan.” Charlotte glanced at him with pity. “We should fatten up your wallet. There’s a shoot next week for the Christmas edition so you’ll get enough funds for a present then.”
“I plan to make a necklace for her. Is that fine?” Dylan asked.
“A necklace? Yeah, whenever she looks at it, she’ll be reminded of you. It’s perfect!” Charlotte praised with a smile.
“What are you going to make it from?” Janine asked.
Dylan pretended to reach into his pocket and retrieved some things from his storage. He showed his open palm to the girls. On it were some pretty magic stones and string made of an unknown material.
“Wow, that’s so pretty.” Charlotte exclaimed. “They’re glowing too!”
“They’re from my home. Do you think I’ll be able to make a good necklace out of them?”
“Definitely!”
“Then it’s decided. I’ll make it as pretty as I can. Which combination looks the best?” Dylan asked Charlotte. She was a designer and had a better sense for those things than him. He trusted her sense of aesthetics.
As expected, Charlotte did not disappoint. She very quickly arranged the stones in a way that looked best and would suit Sherry more. However, the stones arrange in a line like that was a bit bulky looking and Charlotte believed that just one would look best.
“Can’t you narrow it down to one and make it a pendant?”
Dylan shook his head with a small smile. “No, each colour has a different, hmm, how do I say this, meaning? This one is for health, this is protection and this is strength.”
“So that’s how it is. You put so much thought into this, Sherry would definitely love this!”
“Really?” Dylan scratched his head and sheepishly laughed. “I hope that your right.”
“Okay, now that we’ve got the present, we just need to find a good restaurant.”
“There’s a really nice place in the city. My parents went there for their anniversary.” Janine said. She got out her phone and looked the place up online and showed it to Dylan. “How is it?”
Dylan shook his head. “I don’t know. I think Sherry would be uncomfortable in such a high class place.”
He remembered that she was always hesitant about going to parties and balls. Whenever she could, she would decline any invitations using training or a journey as the excuse. Only when the royal family invited her did she show up. Then, she’ll glamour up and wear an uncomfortable smile on her face throughout the ball.
“Nah.” Janine waved her hands in dismissal. “She’s used to them. Don’t forget, her dad is a successful businessman, they’re as rich as my family. They just like to be more low-key about it.”
…Sherry was actually uncomfortable with the balls because they were so glamorous. All sorts of nobles would approach her and introduce themselves, hoping to make connections. They loved to clamour about, calling ‘saint’, ‘saint’, really making one tired. Also, whenever she tried to eat, others would always judge her for how she ate. It was really too stressful.
“Okay, then its settled. Thanks for all the help.” Dylan let out a dazzling smile of gratitude.
Janine smirked and teased. “Don’t forget us when you get married.”
“Of course I won’t.” Dylan laughed. He had already forgotten all about his previous concerns of Sherry rejecting him. All he was thinking about now was the moment she said yes and she became his, and he hers.
