Knyghts And Magickes - Chapter 5
in the years since Adrien’s birth things have been going as well as things could be for a reincarnated soul in a fantasy land. after the revelation of his magic and his first words upon his birth, he continued to surprise those around him with displays of feats impossible for a simple infant, but he is no simple infant after all. his mother, Raven, took it all in stride and was actually rather happy for her son’s great health as it were. his father, Michael, on the other hand, was far less enthused, what with him having to deal with Adrien’s rampant wanderings and his curiosity as well as his monstrous strength, endless stamina, little need for sleep, and constant hunger, as well his propensity for wandering outside and little regard for his warnings, scoldings, and his authority.
none the less, they both loved him as any good parents do and did all they could to make him happy, indulging his intense curiosity and various desires.
Adrien would say it was almost perfect if it weren’t for one particular issue.

now, not to say he was spoiled or that they were hurting for money, in fact, they were pretty well off what with raven being one of the only S-Class Adventurers out there so she actually had a lot of income and authority, it’s just that well, he was spoiled, having been long used to having the vast resources Albin passed onto him.
unfortunately, this was one of the things his parents would deny him, not wanting him to become spoiled. (too late for that.)
and when they told him he would have to work for what he wants, he took that as a challenge.
he used the resources available to him as well as his abilities to learn the basics of magic because, if what games and anime anime had to say about magic were any bit accurate. then there was a lot of ways he’d be able to make money with it.
so he learned, really fast, then he started searching for materials and and researching the limits of magic, one particular field he really enjoyed was alchemy, seeing a lot of potential for money making
in that particular field.
so here he was, in the edge of the magical forest with a lump of coal in front of him on top of an alchemical array and about to test on of his theories.
“Alright.” Spoke a now seven year old Adrien, vocalizing his thoughts “If my theory is right then I should be able to use alchemy to rearrange the atomic structure of the carbon atoms in this coal.” he had an adorable voice “So long as I keep a clear image of the new structure in my mind then the magic seal will actualize it” he finished before he stretched his right arm out and sent his mana to the matrix
as he called out his spells name the circle flared in a bright flash of light, before subsiding to reveal-
“Holy crap!” he exclaimed as he marveled at the white, reflective object that greeted him “A DIAMOND… I transmuted coal into diamond…”
in the center of the matrix was a pile of tiny white rocks, no bigger than his pinkie, yet far more valuable, for they were raw, unpolished diamonds.
“The merchants are gonna have a field day with this.” he then stored all the diamonds in a pouch attached to the side of his belt, before he headed home at an excited pace.
when he entered his house he was greeted a handsome man who who would not look out of place in a boy band, he had black hair and grey eyes and wore simple clothes with an apron on top, he was in the kitchen attending to a simmering pot when he called out “I’m back!” this was Michael, his 32 year old father, who kindly greeted him with a smile.
“Ah, you’re just in time for lunch.” his father said to him before he gestured to the dining room table “Why don’t you set the table while I finish here?” “Sure thing dad.” was his immediate reply.
he used his [Telekinesis] to prepared two plates on the table, as his mother was out on a mission in the plains, before he sat himself on top of a booster seat as his father entered the with the food in his hands
lunch was a calm affair, only broken by the sound of their utensils, before Adrien broke the silence when he addressed his father “Hey dad.” he began “Can I go to marketplace today? I heard that the traders were coming over today and I wanted to sell something.”
his father quirked a brow before saying “Sure, son. But what brought this on?”
“Well…” he trailed off as he took a spoonful of curry to his mouth, he quickly swallowed before continuing “You told that if I wanted things, I should work for them. So I was thinking of selling some stuff I made using alchemy.”
“I see.” Michael began “Very well, I see no problem with that, just be careful, okay?”
“Sure thing.” he said as he finished his meal before he went upstairs to his room to change
when he got there he quickly used a combination of spells and [Telekinesis] to clean and replace his clothes with nicer ones before looking at the mirror to check himself
he saw himself, a young boy with soft and adorable features, something he got from Michael, he was tall for a 7 year old going on 8, and very well built, not bulky but rather fit, with well defined muscles, a result of his modifications, he had black, spiky hair that ran down his back in a wolf-tail, as he never bothered to have it cut, and piercing dark grey eyes, he wore a blue shirt, with a black leather lace in the middle, and some nice dark grey pants, held up by a belt with his side pouch, he had dark brown leather boots, with a steel cap on the toes, and finally a dark, he nodded to himself in satisfaction before he went off to downtown to sell his synthesized diamonds.
