Koji Fights The World - Chapter 5 Big Trouble On Wuu Men Stree
Koji awoke to the warmth of soft, womanly flesh on top of him. He recalled the events of the previous night and blushed at his memories. His life on Earth was a celibate one; indeed, his few friends in college teasingly called him a “monk” for refusing to hang out at parties and talking to girls. But his schedule was already filled with school, homework, part-time job at the local pizzeria, and practice at the dojo; girls were a foreign luxury he couldn’t afford. Koji never imagined sex felt so good, and it made him regret not accepting the previous party invites from girls who thought he was “cute.”
The young man absentmindedly hugged his wife when his hands brushed against her hips. Suddenly, Koji realized something important–the snake portion of the lamia no longer constricted his body! Koji slowly pushed his hands lower along her back; his palms landed on her ass. He resisted the urge to squeeze those warm melons. He reached lower until his hands touched her legs.
Huh? How was it possible for a lamia to possess legs? Koji blinked his eyes repeatedly at the question. Did Zelea turn into a human somehow?
The bonder gently rolled her off his chest. Now missing the snake portion, his wife was petite and much lighter than her lamia form.
However, Zelea rolled off the bed and accidentally fell to the ground. Kunk! “Ow!” she cried out and rubbed the back of her skull. Zelea slowly pulled herself up.
Koji saw her nakedness, and he immediately looked away.
With a mischievous grin, the wife climbed into bed and pressed her chest against his back. She felt the slight shiver from him, and she chuckled inwardly at his shyness. “Did you enjoy our lovemaking, my husband?” she cooed and blew softly into his left ear.
“Get off me,” he groused.
“Hmph! You’re no fun!” she grumbled and slowly picked her clothes off the ground. Zelea quickly dressed. She walked to the closet and picked out a blue robe for him to wear. “Sorry for ripping your clothes to shreds last night. Wear this for now. We’ll go shopping for clothes after breakfast,” Zelea promised.
Koji refused to turn around. Instead, he held out his hand.
The wife rolled her eyes at his unmanly modesty. “I’ll help you,” Zelea said. She unfolded the robe and pulled it over his head. She stepped back and allowed her husband to do the rest. Once he put it on, Zelea looked at the ground and nodded her approval. The robe reached above his ankles; it was the perfect length. “Now put on your shoes, and then we’ll head downstairs to eat breakfast. I’m starving,” she pouted.
Koji looked at the ground and noticed a pair of black Chinese sandals next to the bed. He put them on and followed her out of the room.
The couple descended the creaky, wooden staircase and entered the dining room.
Koji followed Zelea to a table and sat across from her.
A young girl slowly approached. She kept staring at the former lamia’s legs. She placed two cups of hot tea on the table.
“Two bowls of rice congee with a side order of youtiao,” Zelea ordered. She loved eating the deep-fried Chinese crueler; chewing on this food often helped improve her mood.
“Can I add meat to my bowl?” Koji raised his hand and modified his order. Since Zelea was now his wife, he didn’t hesitate to add meat even though Koji realized this would cost extra money from her pocket. He didn’t want to mooch off his wife forever; but for now, Koji will rely on her to pay for his living expenses.
Zelea frowned at the request because she didn’t want to spend too much money on breakfast. After all, Zelea needed to buy clothing for her new husband. However, she saw his puppy eyes and relented. “Fine. Add beef to his bowl,” she said and sighed.
The worker dipped her head and entered the kitchen to issue their orders to the chef.
Koji looked around the room. He saw ten tables with four chairs in each; about half the tables were occupied already with guests. The other patrons bent their heads and ate their meals quietly; some had noodles while others ate congee. “Do you guys have dim sum?” he inquired.
Zelea’s eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected culinary question. “My dear husband, I am not wealthy. This place is in the slums. None of the restaurants here serve anything that luxurious,” she explained quietly. She worried that Koji would demand to go to a dim sum restaurant next! Thus, Zelea quickly explained her lack of money even though it meant losing some face.
“Oh,” he replied. Koji didn’t understand why a princess would live in the slums. But he realized this was a sore topic, and he didn’t want to press further.
Soon, the worker returned with a tray and set it on their table. She placed a bowl of congee in front of each patron. Then she put the plate of youtiao at the center of the table. She nodded and walked away.
Koji took one stick of the fried crueler and broke it into four pieces. He dipped them into his congee to soften the pieces. Next, Koji stirred the congee with his spoon to cool it faster. Koji signed when he saw there were only a few shreds of beef in his congee. But it was better than nothing. Finally, he tasted the food.
“How is it?” Zelea asked suddenly.
Koji looked up from his bowl. “It’s a little bland compared to back home,” he admitted with a shrug. He looked around the table but didn’t see a salt and pepper shaker. Otherwise, he would add the condiment to spice up his rice porridge.
“When we kill the Phoenix and claim the bounty on it, I will take you to a nice dim sum restaurant,” Zelea promised.
He chuckled. “That’s going to be far in the future. I need to train in body refinement and raise my skill level a lot more before I’m ready to fight the Phoenix,” Koji reminded her.
Zelea nodded. “Yes, I’m aware of that.” She was putting some carrot in front of the donkey. She chuckled inwardly at the thought.
The two ceased their conversation and focused on finishing their congee before the food turned cold. Once Koji and Zelea ate their meals, she left money on the table and led her husband out of the inn. However, someone quickly approached her and Zelea frowned. “Sun Zheng,” she identified the man immediately.
“Sister Zelea,” the Asian man greeted with a tiny nod. His long, black hair was tied behind his back and reached his waist. The man’s face bore a strong resemblance to a weasel. He wore a black silk shirt. Sun completed his attire with a pair of black pants and black shoes. Standing behind him was a group of dirty-looking ruffians.
Koji looked at Sun with amusement for the unimaginative color coordination of his clothes. His eyes gazed across the man’s followers. Koji quickly determined that none of them possessed the aura of a martial arts expert; he released the tension in his body and relaxed.
“Why are you here?” Zelea asked with annoyance in her voice.
“I heard that you bonded with someone. I wanted to congratulate you,” Sun replied and offered a palm over fist bow. Once the newcomer raised his head, Sun turned his attention toward Koji. “My name is Sun Zheng. I’m a childhood friend of Zelea,” he introduced himself with a slight nod.
“My name is Koji Adalwin Becker.” The bonder reciprocated the nod.
Sun smiled, but it lacked warmth. “I’m so jealous of you!” he said while hugging himself theatrically. “When I was a kid, I wanted to become strong enough to marry my big sister. But even though I became a street boss, my status couldn’t meet her eyes. Even worse for me, King Aphraphus adopted her, and my sister became a princess! My luck is just too bad,” Sun sighed loudly and shook his head mournfully.
Abruptly, he stared straight into Koji’s eyes. “I need to confirm, with my own eyes, that you’re strong enough to protect my big sister. Will you spare the time to share a few pointers with my followers?” Sun asked with an evil grin.
Koji remained calm. “Sure,” he agreed immediately and put both arms behind his back. “All six of you can come at once.”
“Boss, he’s looking down on us!” a follower said.
“You bastard!”
“6-on-1? You are too arrogant!”
“You are courting death!”
“If you refuse to attack me, then don’t mind if I attack you,” Koji replied. He hated posers like Sun and his men. With lightning speed quick steps, he appeared before the five men behind Sun and launched kicks at them!
His movements were too fast for them to follow; each man received a kick to his chest and flew through the air! The followers groaned in pain while clutching their chests.
Koji slowly turned to face Sun. “Your turn,” he said with a faint grin.
Sun clapped his hands and laughed. “I yield.” He gave his respect to Koji and bowed from the waist. “You are worthy of becoming my big sister’s husband!” Sun praised with delight.
Koji offered a palm-over-fist bow in return. “I just know a few moves,” he said modestly.
Sun patted Koji’s shoulder and turned toward Zelea. “I’m sure you have errands to run with your husband. See you around!” The street boss turned and angrily looked at his men. “Why are you still on the floor? Get up, you fools!” With a harrumph, he stomped down the street.
“Wait for us, boss!” his men cried out and ran after him.
Koji turned toward his wife. “Are there any more ex-boyfriends I should know about?” he asked jokingly. She was beautiful and probably had many admirers in the city. Koji didn’t mind proving his worthiness to them. After all, he needed the exercise.
Zelea rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand roughly. “Let’s go!”
The couple walked for several blocks before Koji spoke up. “Someone is following us,” he warned quietly.
“I know,” she replied. Zelea continued walking at her usual pace, and her Bonder followed her lead.
However, Koji extended his Qi Perception to the furthest extent possible. The presence of every living creature, whether a human, a lamia, a bird, a horse, or other animals, entered his mind. Of course, that also meant he marked the half-dozen men following behind him along with the four cutting in front of his wife.
Soon, the strangers made their move. “Excuse me, Princess Zelea,” one of them hailed her. The caller appeared in front of Zelea and blocked her path. He was a middle-aged Asian with shortly cropped black hair, a neatly-trimmed mustache above his upper lip, and a genteel expression on his face. He wore a blue silk robe with the red silhouette of a snake emblazoned on his chest.
The men behind Koji immediately approached and formed a semi-circle around him.
“Yes?” Zelea replied haughtily. She recognized the symbol on the caller’s chest and groaned inwardly. She knew it was too strange for the other lamias to let Zelea take Koji out of the arena unchallenged.
“My employer wishes to create a bond with your Bonder,” the man said with a deep bow.
“Please tell Big Sister Daethix that it’s not nice to steal from others.”
The servant frowned. He couldn’t understand how the adopted princess knew the identity of his employer.
As if she read his mind, Zelea pointed at his chest.
The man looked down and winced. He forgot to wear a cloak to hide the symbol! The servant sighed as he raised two fingers in the air. His employer had ordered him to take Zelea’s Bonder by force but to leave the lamia unharmed if at all possible.
Zelea noticed the hand sign and immediately turned around to support her husband.
However, the three men with the servant blocked her path and prevented Zelea from joining her Bonder. She immediately transformed back to a lamia!
As a red glow surrounded her body, the men surrounding Koji began their attack!
Koji closed his eyes and calmed his mind. He followed the flow of Yang Qi emanating from his opponents. As soon as the attackers reached Koji’s combat range, he struck with lightning quick speed! Ratatatatata! While each opponent received only one blow, it was devastating because Koji had targeted the attackers’ dantians!
The six attackers dropped to the ground, writhing in overwhelming pain as their bodies stopped circulating their internal Qi due to the broken dantians!
“What did you do?” the servant shrieked in horror at the sight of his defeated men.
“I broke their dantians,” Koji replied with a malicious grin. When he started studying Eastern Medicine in college, he had the inspiration of targeting weak spots during combat. His research on various forms of martial arts led Koji to Dim-Mak and Sifu Man’s academy. When Koji informed his old Wing Chun academy of his decision to leave, his former classmates became upset and called him a traitor. But today’s encounter validated his decision to learn Dim-Mak.
Koji turned his back on the fallen men and slowly approached the three hooligans standing between him and his wife.
Before he could attack them, the men were swept aside by Zelea’s snake body! WHAM! The three men rolled on the ground like bowling pins and turned into a pile of tangled limbs!
“Let’s go!” Zelea said with a “hmph!” She was upset at being forced to return to her lamian body because she wanted to spend more time walking on her human legs. But there was a cooldown period of several hours before Zelea could transform again.
The couple ignored the servant, who helplessly stood while trying to comprehend what he just witnessed.
