La Serpiente, Foxy cursed bride in CEO Ghost’s lair - Chapter 136
“I agree, whatever you say, I will agree to that.”
Adriana immediately spoke in agreement without even realising the circumstances she would fall into, but wasn’t that the right thing, I mean the circumstances of refusing Braille were even worse, an imminent death could be waiting for her.
She leaped forward a little as not to step any closer to Braille, who was still holding the revolver. Adriana gulped her fears, as the agreement was the only thing which could save her from falling into the pit of darkness which almost seemed prevalent in her life. Moreover, she could not afford to lose such a job which was providing her enough money, to meet the both ends easily easily.
“Good choice, you are a clever person, Adriana. But I must remind you one thing, you better do not dare to double cross me.”
Braille raised her eyebrows and eyed Adriana immediately after the words left her lips, to assure herself that she would not dare to attempt any such blunder.
“No, no. I would never…I will keep my lips seal, after all you have known my secret too.”
Adriana smirked at her as she shrugged at first then folded her arms and tucked them across her plump breasts, she too knew how to play with the words as the young female employee of the MacLaverty conglomerate assured Braille of her loyalty.
Braille giggled at once and shook her head as an amusing yet impressed expression graced her breathtakingly beautiful face, she had expected Adriana to be courageous but her daring and fearless attitude left her to chuckle rather being aggressive, maybe that is how two fox fight and deal with each other.
“Yes, you better shut your mouth about this, or else I have a quick and effective way to seal those lips, which I hope you don’t want to explore.”
Braille was still moving her fingers on the long nozzle of the revolver, as the vampire princess gave her last warning. Adriana could clearly acknowledge how horrible death she would die, if she ever dared to double cross Braille Matteo Leste.
“Mhmm, I will keep that in mind.”
Adriana let out a ‘hmm’ expression with a serious tone, although she was getting curious about what Braille Matteo would have wanted from her now, what type of work she wanted her to do on her behalf because everything seemed suspicious to her by now.
“May I know what type of task I have to fulfill? If it is fine for me to ask, of course. So, that I can ponder upon my strategies…you know these kind of things take time.”
Adriana could not afford to question bluntly so she moulded her query into some specific words, which would do the work. Braille smiled more likely it was an evil grin, while she shoved the revolver back into the right pocket of her fur coat.
“You are impatient, my dear Adriana but if you are insisting then I will fill you in. All you have to do is…to spy on your boss, Mr Sinclair MacLaverty!”
Braille muttered the task she wanted her to do, the information forced Adriana to widen her eyes, while her lips parted a little and her jaw nearly dropped from the difficult task she was just assigned.
“WHAT!?”
Adriana almost shouted at Braille at once she heard the weird task which drifted her in a daze, she had predicted the work to be some sort of dangerous gangsta stuff, such thought never crossed her mind even for once, like who would have imagined that the rumoured lover of Sinclair MacLaverty, Braille Matteo Leste would need someone’s help to spy on the CEO.
“What!?”
She slid her eyes across the street immediately, how naive she was to worry about that thing just now and not at the moment when Braille Matteo had pointed a gun towards her throat. Soon her voice became a whisper but audible enough for Braille to hear, she could not believe what her sinful ears had just heard.
It was unbelievable to her to swallow those words, she wanted to laugh out loud sensing how pitiful Braille got that forced her to step down her level and asked for help. Adriana suspected that Braille might have approached her deliberately and caught her red handed, so that she could use her little yet dirty secret for her own gain.
She felt somewhat relieved that Braille would not tell on her ever, if the vampire princess had that intention she would have done it long ago by calling CEO Sinclair MacLaverty, at the very moment she caught Adriana there in that street, which was famous for its notorious reputation.
Adriana became sure that all Braille needed from her was the fulfillment of the weird task and the sharp witted female employee could speculate that the sole reason Braille approached her was ‘the permit to enter Sinclair’s cabin’ granted to her by the mighty CEO himself.
It was the only thing Braille Matteo didn’t have because Sinclair had placed a seal around his cabin that didn’t allow her to step inside his office, thus Braille needed someone to help her in lifting the seal and to spy on her beloved man. Adriana seemed to fit every category and quality Braille Matteo Leste had set for the pawn, and somewhere deep down Adriana knew all these things which made her even more fearless.
“Yes, spying! What is there to be stunned off and so shocking for you? Isn’t that an easy peasy task for a talented girl like you?”
Braille lifted her one eyebrow in a surprise to see Adriana’s reaction, which was pretty much odd and totally opposite to Braille’s expectations.
The vampire princess who had left her kingdom because of Lord of the Spirit Realm, Sinclair MacLaverty, she refused to hold the crown which was left her elder sister Hestia Leste. The two sisters of the vampire kingdom, each got the opportunity to hold onto the throne and to wear the crown yet still the vampire realm was engulfed by the damnation and had remained unlucky that both the princes refused the throne and ran away from the realm.
The night princess Hestia left the kingdom to achieve the desired freedom, the young true blooded vampire princess, the younger daughter of Lord Matteo Leste, Braille Matteo was declared as the sole heir to the throne. Although, she was still a baby crying in the cradle and the queen had died while giving birth to her, King Leste brought her up with great care and never got afraid to pamper her
The younger princess was never told that she had a sister, no one was allowed to speak of princess Hestia as if she had became a sin to talk about. Every single picture of her was taken off from the portrait wall of the royal lineage as if she had never existed in the world, every single person of the kingdom was strictly instructed precisely warned that no one was allowed to call out the name of his unfilial daughter, who didn’t even bother to worry about her father’s reputation.
Braille had thought that Adriana might be interested in Sinclair as every other lady in the company had a crush on him, she placed Adriana in the same list and had initially thought of her like that but to her surprise Adriana’s shocking expressions turned the tables.
She mistook the lady and that caused her to ponder upon the decision to choose Adriana out of all those obsessive women, but of course those women in Sinclair’s company were after either his wealth or to bed the mighty CEO. Braille had been following her by keeping an eagle’s eye, and keenly observed the lady acknowledging that she had mingled with each other successfully.
“It is…I mean it isn’t a difficult task but still…”
Adriana tried to say something but refrained herself from spouting anything that could trigger Braille’s ire.
‘Shut your mouth Adriana, she is having a revolver in her sleeve, you fool!’
The very thought hit her with the instant realization that Adriana stopped herself from uttering any further that would rage Braille’s ire.
“…okay, I’m in and accept this task.”
Braille heaved a sigh inwardly after convincing the lady, on the outward she smiled devilishly and shoved her both hands into the pockets of her fur coat. How could she let a mere human touch her? The lady was still proud of being a princess and the addition of having powerful ancestral blood in her veins, had spoiled her very much that Braille saw every other single being below her level.
“Good.”
An evil grin graced her face while she starred in Adriana’s eyes, who had expected a handshake at least after all they had became partners in the crime.
Who would have imagined that the lady who never took interest in the CEO Sinclair MacLaverty let alone loving him, would obsessively fall in love with him in no time, during her time period of spying. According to Adriana, her boss Sinclair was a cold blooded monster who had never regarded his employees as humans, was certainly not her type.
She had seen many women applying into the conglomerate just to get a sight of the mighty CEO who was ruling the whole business world and had became the only king, each woman ended up being fired from the company within a month. It was Adriana and a few more sensible females who had kept their eyes only on the work and were the oldest female employees among the ‘every now and then’ changing female staff.
