La Serpiente, Foxy cursed bride in CEO Ghost’s lair - Chapter 14
“After you, Miss Syna.”
I gave her way stretching hand outward, without responding or rejecting my offer, Syna just strode in front of me.
I knew at the instant that she was somewhat frightened as she board my limousine. That was understandable as for every single person in my company I was queer, well for people but Syna was an exception as she was my mate.
With an austere lifeless look I used to work all day, you will find out soon, why. Syna was sitting quietly with her hand inside the hand bag, sure she was showing the perfect signs I could expect from any other woman. But it hurt me that she trusted the rumours rather than finding herself.
However I got some time alone with my beloved mate and it was something of a golden chance as humans called it. So I wanted to make her feel at ease with me. Although I believed she was not going to talk so I took the initiative.
“Would you mind telling me what happened earlier that day which turned, Miss Syna into a lioness?”
She turned her head immediately towards me and took some seconds to register what I asked. She was zoned out do not know where to.
“Ah! Yes that- well you know, sir how people are efficient in spreading rumours and making assumptions. I got into a verbal fight with other applicants.”
I heard her with all ears while driving but the last part made me chuckle. Sure she was my girl and knew how to stand for herself. But she got on the point which I carried further.
“You know, Syna there are many rumours about me, and they really do not piss me off instead I enjoy them. People amuse me, like once a journalist quoted that perhaps I’m a vampire.”
“I mean in the imaginary world created by authors where humans, vampires, werewolves and fairies live along together it’s possible. But in real life how could one imagine this stupid stuff and to tell you certainly I’m not a vampire.”
Her eyes wide opened like saucers perhaps she believed those farce news.
“Yy-you really aren’t ?”
She stammered with excitement as if she got something bigger to tell others.
Her priceless expressions made me chuckle on the top of my lungs.
“I swear my lady!”
I bowed a bit with one hand on my chest and eyes glued to the road and all I could hear was her sweet laughter.
“Mr Sinclair, has a sugar tongue.”
She stated shyly but in a friendly manner.
“I believe.”
I averted my gaze and our eyes met for some seconds obviously I was driving.
[ You guys don’t forget that.]
“But I’m not that kinda smooth talker. Well you can say that a friendly boss but definitely not a womanizer.”
She let out a light sigh. I knew she studied my profile on internet and believed all that sh*t blindly.
And as her mate I needed to clear her mind towards me, for that we need to interact more and more. These humans do not have anything special to do in their own lives so they invade in others.
“I do not know why am I a hot topic among journalists.”
I shrugged with a sigh. I really did not know why they all were persistent to talk and write about me. Perhaps just because I’m young, which I definitely ain’t in reality.
Or perhaps I don’t interact much like I’ve to do other personal stuff. And I ain’t into party things and in the idea of bedding women. Although I do flirt sometimes but that excludes any physical contact just verbal satisfaction and someone to kill your time, you know.
I was hopeless regarding my mate after all I waited for many years but she did not showe up. And as every day passed I became worried whether it’s a woman or a man. You know how this 21st century works. But finally my mate showed up and thankfully ‘a woman’.
“I guess perhaps for your handsome looks, sir!”
She chuckled and let out a naughty answer.
“Hah! Now you are acting like my PA. I guess I have made a right choice.”
“I won’t disappoint you, sir.”
Her eyes were shining and voice showed determination.
“But I’m disheartened now.”
I pouted like a child as the Limo stopped on a red signal.
“B-b-but why?”
After all this friendly talk she sounded concerned. Which made me happy deep down.
“Well you see, Syna you need to trust me neglecting all those false rumours. You have to trust to your own findings.”
She made an O-shaped mouth in embarrassment. Perhaps she knew why I requested her that after Bellaire’s scene.
“I-I do trust you, sir.”
She was not true to herself as I could feel her emotional fluctuations now , and I completely understood that.
After all she needed time to accept things. And the most deadly secret was awaiting to be disclosed.
“Then would you pull out your hand from that bag? What is it a pepper spray or a pocket knife?”
She immediately pulled out her milky hand lowering her head. I knew it was already hard for her. She needed me, I held her hand and felt sparks throughout my body.
“It’s okay, Miss Syna. Your behaviour was understandable.”
She did not replied and kept on staring her hand. I knew she needed time to settle things with me, we need to interact more to cover up this boss-employee relationship. We drove to her house and as the limousine stopped in front of her building she blurted out in shock.
“How do you know where I live ?”
Oh sh*t !
I should have asked her about the route though I already knew upon my first encounter.
“Well, your CV.”
Thankfully this came up into my mind immediately and I winked while replying.
“Haha, oh I forgot.”
She got off and stood outside bending on the level of glass window.
“Good bye, sir.”
“Take care, Miss Syna.”
She gave me a wholehearted smile and went into the building.
She was gone but took my stupid heart too with her last smile. I was relieved that she was taking things my way.
I stood there like an idiot staring the pathway thinking about her. And every thought intensified these strange feelings. I guess the poison of love was doing it’s work very well.
