La Serpiente, Foxy cursed bride in CEO Ghost’s lair - Chapter 179
The cursed bride crouched down on the floor, the cold marble touched her bare knees from the short dress.
Panting from fear and sweating profusely Syna was blankly staring in the mirror, her knees touched the ground with a loud thump sound.
Her eyes never left the horrible face in the mirror and the reflection was staring back at her, mocking and laughing for her own foolishness for trusting Sinclair MacLaverty.
Lolita aka Hestia had created a magical ball of energy waves to blow down the wooden door, she needed to check upon Syna’s current condition.
Her loud shriek had created a turmoil within her along with various fears regarding her condition and became worrisome.
Syna couldn’t not believe that the terrifying reflection was hers, as she touched the unusually long pointy nose which was crooked at the tip.
A hideous feature resembling Goblins.
Unknowingly, a few warm tears had left her eye sockets and Syna could see the stream on her extremely pale cheeks, which had big pimples filled with water.
A horrible feature resembling old hag witches.
The once beautiful face was now having wrinkles on the unusually pale greenish skin, her lips had turned darker, eyes shoved into the sockets and the skin from cheekbones was terribly shrunk back.
Revealing the high cheek bones the feature resembled dark elves.
Braille Matteo Leste’s spell had worked its effect perfectly which had turned Syna into an ugly hag!
Old age, Yes!
Ugliness, definitely!
Hideous appearance, obviously!
But still a pure heart, indeed!
Still having friends by her side, yes!
People around her who were willing to stay by her side, obviously!
Was she abandoned, definitely not!
Left behind, no!
Pampered and cared, yes!
Hestia barged into the room haphazardly, half running and plunging towards Syna. While Mr Lorenzo followed her trail and arrived inside the room, when the door was banged on the ground.
In the midst of little dust which had risen up in the air due to the bang of the door on the marble floor, Syna didn’t move an inch.
Practically she could not swallow the picture which she had witnessed in the mirror, within that moment Syna experienced various emotions at same time.
Horror and fright from the sight.
Questioning to self.
Shrinking of heart.
Crestfallen.
Left out.
Denial?
Of course.
“Syna? Are you alright?”
Lolita leaped forward towards Syna immediately as soon as the door was opened, which was the only hindrance for Hestia in meeting Syna.
She lunged with a worry creased face and held Syna in her arms, she didn’t bother to notice that her knees were being brushed on the ground.
The banished vampire princess wrapped her arms around Syna, Hestia could not help but to pull Syna’s face towards herself.
“Honey, what….”
Before Hestia could question her about anything regarding what had happened earlier to her, her eyes landed on the mirror and the scenario sent her in a shocking state.
‘Oh no, no!’
Hestia muttered to herself inwardly, within her breath. She silently prayed that by any chance Syna’s illusion haven’t gone wrong, but to her dismay it already had happened.
“Hestia?”
Syna didn’t move her eyes, which were still darted onto the mirror with disbelieving expressions. She called out her name in a feeble voice within a whisper, which was barely audible.
“This…this isn’t me, right?”
This was exactly the moment when Syna turned her head towards Hestia and without any blink she questioned her. Syna’s whisper and the disbelieving remark filled her eyes with moisture.
Syna’s shocking stare and mouth was hung open, she didn’t know what to say. While Hestia was unable to comprehend how she should react rather the reaction was reflexive, that she nearly sobbed.
“TELL ME! This…this isn’t me, right? SPEAK UP, HESTIA!”
The cursed lady spoke up loudly, Syna yelled by grabbing Hestia tightly by the shoulders.
Of course it was indeed impossible for her to believe that how she had turned into an old lady over night, on the top of that unusually ugly old age!
“Calm down, honey. Shushh, calm down.”
Mr Lorenzo felt his heart shrunk and gotten drowned into oceans of despair. He had crouched down on toes nearby Syna but after seeing that her condition, he felt the need to hold the poor soul.
“G- grandpa! Haa, grandpa…why are you two not speaking?”
Syna shifted her hazel orbs towards old Lorenzo, as Hestia wasn’t speaking anything rather her sobs had become audible now.
The illusion had worn off, yes!
“Get yourself Syna, calm…I will tell you but first calm down, okay.”
Old Lorenzo tried to grab Syna’s hands but the lady wasn’t willing to listen to anyone, what do you think her reaction was right?
“Tell me this..this is an illusion!”
Syna wriggled out of his arms which were trying to get wrapped around the lady but failed in every attempt. She pointed out towards the mirror and shouted on the top of her lungs, her eyes swelled up in tears.
“TELL ME, FOR GOD’S SAKE SAY SOMETHING.”
“Don’t be like this, Syna. Everything will be fine, don’t worry. Shushh, don’t cry.”
Hestia finally wiped off the tears from her cheeks while old Lorenzo had pulled Syna into a tight hug.
Hestia eventually joined them both as her arms wrapped around Syna from behind, she assured her friend that everything would be fine soon.
But was she aware of the solution?
Did Hestia know how to break the curse?
“No, no….w- why?”
Syna’s crying became audible in the quiet room, her heavy sobs and the serene sound of the wind were the only things which were ‘speaking’ of various lurking dangers.
‘So, this is why Sinclair MacLaverty cheated on me? D- did his love finish after seeing me in this state?’
Her mind was rushing towards many conclusions, suspecting various things which could have led Sinclair to cheat on her.
“I’m sorry Syna, I didn’t want to hurt you. I’m sorry for creating the illusion of normal appearance.”
Hestia’s whisper resonated with an apology as she stated her the things.
“Don’t worry honey, we will find the counter spell soon to break this curse!”
Mr Lorenzo pushed Syna gently and cupped her face, the fatherly figure wiped off her warm tears which were trailing down one after another.
The man assured her with a nodding face and smiled at the young lady, whilst Syna’s mind was wandering somewhere else.
A saddened golden heart was beating within her ugly self!
What a combination of nature!
What a cunning play of the goddess!
Everything could have been resolved by coming clear on the terms, the only solution was ‘negotiation’.
But the fools were assuming things rather talking about the problems with each other.
With their foolishness, time was also taking the leap by placing various hindrances in their relationship, by dragging them apart.
