La Serpiente, Foxy cursed bride in CEO Ghost’s lair - Chapter 21
The earlier said words of Lolita came true but with a damn bloody curse to accompany with it.
“Yes, it is that way my child, unfortunately.”
Grandma Benz whispered half crying, as she buried her face into the scarf around her neck, which became soaked with tears by now.
“So, why are you all so nervous and glum? I mean, I should be the one to behave like this. I got the secret unveiled of my family and guess what! I’m a noble by birth.”
I shot up from my seat in disbelief, at least I came to know about my birth and parents.
“I’m gonna marry a prince or perhaps a King, what is so scary in that, t-that makes you all sob like mourning over someone dead!”
I could feel deep down within the layers that my words will bounce back; with something deadly and gruesome attached to it.
“Syna, I’m really sorry, I cannot help you this time, my child.”
Grandpa Lorenzo burst out in tears for the first time, his voice became heavy, he was helpless I guess and dried his tears rashly.
“Actually that rightful heir to the throne is always a GHOST KING!”
A deadly silence began to hover after he finished, which was finally interrupted by the outburst of my laughter.
“What!? A ghost king? Grandpa are you crazy? Ghosts do not exist and on the top of that a Ghost king, no way. It is silly, I-it cannot be true, right?”
I stared at him unbelievably, controlling my laughter which eventually died after witnessing their blank faces, I was waiting for him to deny all things he just said.
“I know you are shocked, Syna. But my love it is true indeed and this gentleman here, is your groom, the Ghost King!”
Grandpa Benz walked upto me and pulled me in his embrace before I could plop onto the ground.
I ogle at the man, who definitely seemed a reincarnation of the devil, a chill was sent down my spine at his stare, making my head dizzy.
“Even if it is true, as you guys say, I can reject, right? What if I’m not the chosen one, I mean how do you know that it is me? And I’m from that family, I could have been tricked into this.”
I wanted to run, run for my life, I wanted to run away from that man.
“I’m afraid my love, you cannot. Otherwise the wrath of ghost king will bestowed on us and your dead parents, who sacrificed themselves just to save you. But unfortunately when the stone of that ring turned white from black as the ring slipped into your finger, you were destined.”
That cannot be happening, n-no that can’t be happening, I just found the information of my parents and now they are already dead. And in addition to this I’m destined to be a bride of some fu*king ghost king.
“I understand, I completely understand now, so this was the reason why grandma left you? She feared me because of this curse, now everything makes sense.”
I began to sob heavily while grandpa Lorenzo and others gathered around me and hugged tightly, while that man stayed there sitting like a merciless king.
“It is not like that Syna, we all love you but it is just…..we cannot reverse what is written for you. That ring was supposed to protect you but somehow the heavenly stone sent signals about your whereabouts to, ghost king.”
“I-I understand.”
I rubbed my eyes rashly, dried the endlessly tears and sniffed.
“I will repay you all, for your love and all this kindness. I’m ready to be, the bride of the dead!”
Mr Joseph stood up with amusing expressions, at this point after watching the whole things.
“I know you are going through a trauma right now, my lady. But to announce me ‘dead’ is really something only you can do otherwise…. For your satisfaction a ‘ghost king’ is not a dead or a spirit. I’m as alive as you are, but just with some privileges of having supernatural powers to rule over spirits.”
Both men apologized to him immediately by bowing, for my rude utterance.
“I guess, I should get going today empty handed but I will be back for my bride.”
He glanced at me with a victorious smirk and to my horror he disappeared like smoke, rather using some door or window, he just fu*king vanished in thin air leaving me horror stricken.
Before anyone else could say something, I dashed out of the office and ran towards the exit.
I could not take that anymore it was something unbelievable, my body was becoming jelly as my fragile heart was frightened.
I knew it was something big but it could be that deadly, was just beyond my expectations, while I instantly board the taxi, my mind began to jump from one thought to another.
“I-I guess, Mr Sinclair, can help me. If this is his brother then…..Oh my God, he is a ghost too!”
I covered my mouth in fright.
“N-no, be strong, Syna. I have to find a way to escape from this shit a-and only he can help me through this.”
I threw my head backwards in frustration as my body began to regain the dropped temperature, my throat was completely dry.
“Why cannot Mr Sinclair, be the ghost king, I would love to marry him willingly.”
I groaned annoyingly, unknown of what I just muttered, and why those words left my mouth. Perhaps I was already poisoned with the venom of love, when I was supposed to marry someone else.
