La Serpiente, Foxy cursed bride in CEO Ghost’s lair - Chapter 33
“I can’t let him die, n-no I can’t harm my loved ones intentionally. No…no …why?”
She board the cab and got seated, while the driver’s voice stuck to her both ears.
“Where to ma’am?”
“To ‘EnzMax’ orphanage and press it fast.”
Syna instructed him with worry creased face.
“Yes ma’am.”
The reply of the driver filtered the air as they drove off from the cab stand and the cab soared in the charcoal road.
Those few moments of the journey provided her some time to slip back onto some memories, to swoop into some thoughts.
“Ah! Grandpa! Why you do this to me? Are you really planning to leave me? You can’t do that, have you forgotten your promise to live upto a ripe age and to be with me?”
“You can’t die, I worked this hard to mold myself into what you wanted me to be. Now when I’m independent and strong, you want to leave your little girl to whom you vowed to protect?”
Her mind was running throughout jumping upon various thoughts, from past till present as the cab passed every massive building around them on the way.
The perfect blueness of the sky could be noticed into which white smoke bloomed from the munitions factories and engines of vehicles, as the black smoke from the engine pipe of the motors were leaving the traces of their track.
“Is someone out there who’s really unlucky than me, whose life could be worse than me? In this world of modernisation when no one believes in such fantasies, here I am, my fate written with the ink of bad luck.”
She tucked her head back and sighed deeply, some lines appeared on her forehead as her brows creased together a trace of being worrisome about her only family.
Some voices snagged her attention as the car pulled into the parking lot of the orphanage. Syna opened her eyes at once and hurriedly crept out, paid the cab driver.
With a shilly-shally gait she ran through the garden and reached the doorsteps of the ‘EnzMax’ orphanage.
[Beep Beep]
The abrupt ring of cell phone pricked his ears.
“Hello! Who is it?”
The man asked with piqued irritation to the man on the other side of the call, while the big chair swayed around.
“Hello! Sir, I’m speaking form the City hospital, is Mr Benz speaking?”
The voice from the other side was professional. Benz shot up from his seat as he had a hunch of some bad news.
“Yes, Benz is speaking. What is the matter?”
In that quiet office his voice resonated with worry.
“I wanted to inform you, sir, that Mr Lorenzo met an accident and he is brought to our hospital please come as soon as possible, sir. He is in critical state.”
The man cut the call leaving Benz staggered due to the revelation given briefly in one flow, sure he was worried for his only friend.
“What?”
Greta ran down from the spiral staircase immediately.
“Is he okay? In which hospital he is?”
She panicked and within one flow, without pauses she asked all these questions to her husband, who strode out of the office and shouted to her about his accident.
He informed her whereabouts and she handed him a cap which he donned over his grey hair.
Syna entered and saw the old couple at the doorsteps in a fit going somewhere.
Benz held the cell phone tightly in his right hand and called her in tense tone.
“Come with us, we have to go somewhere.”
[Time Passes]
“Syna, my child.”
A feeble voice fell into her ears as she looked towards the old handsome man, who was laying there as a patient surrounded by tubes and an oxygen mask.
The once arrogant austere power reduced to nothing but soft rasps of breath, with stitches on his arms and head wrapped in white bandages.
“Grandpa, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. All this happened because of me, I’m the cause.”
Syna lunged forward by his side while the old couple was relieved to see him alive.
“No, love, this is not your fault. It is just …that …it was written to be happened.”
Lorenzo lifted his hand weakly and Syna immediately placed hers into his wrinkled one.
“Do not try to conceal it, grandpa. I know all this happened because I refused to marry him, you had this accident because his wrath was bestowed on the ones I love dearly.”
She faltered and tears started to crawl on her cheeks, Syna did not had the temerity to look into Lorenzo’s eyes, who happened to sob with her.
“No, Syna. You have to accept all this, is not your fault. It never was and if you do…..”
[Dry cough]
Lorenzo let out a cough weakly, his whole silhouette quivered and his speech got interrupted in between.
“Grandpa!”
“Lorenzo!”
Both voices resonated laced with worry as Benz rushed forward momentarily seeing the condition of his friend.
“If you do not want to marry him, it is fine. We will find a way to break this curse.”
After his condition got stable he completed his sentence, ensuring Syna that she had her family by her side.
“No, grandpa. I do not want to drag you all with me into this misery, I do not want you people to sacrifice for me, I will marry the Ghost king.”
Syna placed forward her decision in a determined tone as she sounded like the little lady was preparing to repay them for their kindness.
“But Syna….”
Lorenzo tried to showcase resistance to her decision while the old Benz couple remained rooted there quietly, since Syna was more close to Lorenzo.
“No, grandpa. I have decided, I will marry him.”
Syna cut his sentence, she knew the man will make her surrender in a few minutes with his speech and make her obey.
But this time she did not want to listen to any such thing that would put them all in danger, when she knew the cause and was aware of the circumstances now.
