La Serpiente, Foxy cursed bride in CEO Ghost’s lair - Chapter 8
“Damn this !”
Her stomach growled which gave Syna realisation that she did not eat in the morning.
“I should hurry before that devil reaches there.”
She knew her friend and the only one who had the reins to persuade her for anything.
Syna stepped out of the parking and took the exit, reaching the main road. It took her only a few minutes to wait before a yellow cab halted in front of her.
Crossing the last lane to the bustling market area, the cab screeched in front of famous AK Bakers. Syna crept out as the warm gust of air kissed her face gently as her dress clacked. Her imposing aura complete gave her the look of a badass wonder woman!
The wind chime announced her arrival into the shop, and due to her influential austere appearance which was differentiating her of all the casual patrons, the waitress greeted her immediately and Syna placed her order of one donut and a black coffee.
She took a seat close to the window which was giving off the clear view of outside. Sun says were eager to fall on her silhouette as they crept inside through the glass window.
Unknowingly Syna’s mind drifted to the thought of Sinclair which made her zoned out of everything happening around her. The hot black coffee was giving off the steam quite comparable to her innermost volcanic feelings.
“Sorry I got late, it was a huge jam along the fifth avenue.”
Lolita who just arrived into the shop with her stumbling and panting posture, chipped.
“Syna? Are you listening girl?”
She plopped into the seat, placing her bag onto the table, and upon getting nothing as a response from Syna, she became curious.
“Syna? SYNA RHYS?”
She knew something was wrong as nothing could make that strong headed woman this disturbed or zoned out.
Her slightly loud voice and sudden jerk brought Syna back into the present.
“When did you arrive?”
She questioned Lolita in exclamation.
“When you were drowned into some important thought.”
Lolita pouted angrily, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.
“Oh! It is nothing like that. I did not sleep last night, maybe that’s why.”
Syna tried to reason out though knowing it would not work on Lolita.
“Maybe? Are you hiding something?”
As expected Lolita was in her inquiring mode, Syna pursed her lips in agitation.
“Why would I do that? You are my only friend, okay.”
She tried to plead in order to stop Lolita from spouting nonsense futher.
“Okay, I believe you. But you got the job or not? Am I getting a meal or not?”
A true friend indeed, she was more interested in a free meal rather in the reason of Syna’s zoning out.
Which of course Syna hid masterfully behind her cheerful manner and beaming smile.
“Yes, girl, I got the job at once. And you are getting a free meal, you pig!”
She narrowed her eyes with a rather fake disappointment on Lolita’s behaviour.
“What now? You know me, okay. I would not spare you even if you give me that deadly scowl.”
Lolita had a delicate appearance comparatively to Syna, who had developed an athletic figure due to running about milestones for bits of news.
Syna was slender and had golden hair and flecks of silver in her eyes, while Lolita was a little plump-curvaceous with black gems in her sockets.
“Ugh! Why are you always like this?”
Syna heaved a sigh, it was knowledgeable that she could not escape from her friend.
“How? Robbing you off from money? Oh come on, lady, it’s called celebration and one should do that often. See, I’m going to rob you again when you will get yourself a man.”
Lolita spoke in a determined tone which made Syna giggle, both the ladies shared a sisterhood bondage since their mutual ‘home’ was the orphanage.
“I’m not going to waste my life in some stupid so called love, which is a completely uncertain thing.”
Syna dismissed the idea, ripping it from the root.
“Then why you applied in that dating site?”
Lolita brought up the question in amazement, yet a little shocked.
“Ho-Ho for fun, girl. It is all just for fun.”
Though unknown of the strange sensations creeping into her body, she declared love as a wastage and claimed that she would not fall for anyone.
“Never mind, play as much as you want unless someone steals your heart.”
Lolita rather chuckled challenging Syna.
“It would not happen ever. Now leave this sh*t and order something first. I already had a coffee before your arrival.”
Guilty of not waiting Syna told her beforehand, before Lolita could notice the cup which was placed in front of them from the start.
