Lady Boss Please Spoil Your Husband - Chapter 348
[Perimeters has been cleared. What should we do to the captives?]
“Detain them up for now. We currently have a peculiar lone wolf who invited himself in our company,” Lillie eyes didn’t turned away from their special, uninvited guest as she spoke with Elliot.
“I believe he would tell us more than what his ‘acquaintances’ could.”
Daunting Spirit rolled his eyes and scoffed at her comment and unnerving gaze.
[Very well, boss.]
Icy crimson eyes scanned the young man’s features after Lillie hung up. That disguise would fool many. Unluckily for him, Lillie wasn’t one of them.
With a snap of her fingers, she could make Silent Death peel off his second layer of disguise. She would hold onto that for a moment, however.
His chance to speak his propositions haven’t started yet. She’ll hear him out before anything else.
And so, Daunting Spirit started answering what she wanted to hear.
They were new bloods, just as they suspected. Daunting Spirit explained how he and his co-leader established their group just a year ago.
One year in the Underworld and they’re already asking for death by crossing White Bird? What on earth are these children thinking.
Lillie called them children because they are indeed children in her eyes.
“How old are you?”
“Eighteen. Can we skip small details like this so we can pack things up quickly? I don’t want to miss school.”
The audacity of this…this ‘boy’.
“Hey, dude!” Daunting Spirit reeled back when the sharp blade pressed on his neck, he nearly felt it tear his skin. “What the f*ck?”
“Watch you mouth, brat.” Ethan growled, pinning his gun harshly on the ballsy kid’s head. “You’re in no position to make demands, especially with the boss.”
“Fine, fine! Sheesh, no need to be so aggressive.”
Lillie brushed the young man’s rudeness aside. “Who is your co-leader?”
Now this is the hardest part in Daunting Spirit’s mission. Persuading White Bird to not kill him on the spot as soon as she knew who his co-leader was.
“Thrill Seeker.”
What a straightforward name. Three minds shared one thought.
“Hm, never heard of them.”
Good. He hope that it stay that way. Please don’t ask more.
“She’s the introvert type,” Daunting Spirit shrugged casually, expertly hiding his nerves. “Who’s also a little bit of a psychopath.”
But to be fair, who isn’t a psychopath in the Underworld?
“My co-leader and I have a proposition to make with you. That is why I have presented myself personally. Unfortunately, Thrill Seeker wasn’t available to accompany me.”
Hah! As if he would let that crazy woman come with him for a peaceful business talk. She has quite the unneeded talent of making everyone aggravated to the point that they would want to put a bullet in her head to shut her up completely and permanently.
“We’ve gathered some rumors about you, how you and Qilin weren’t the best buddies and all.”
“Indeed, we’re not.” Lillie confirmed in an uninterested manner. It’s not really secret, after all. “And so are the rest of the Leaders.”
Daunting Spirit felt his heart jolt as the white-clad woman rose from her chair. Heels clicked audibly against the marbled floor, and it did nothing to calm his raging tremors that he desperately try to stifle.
The clicking sound slowly approached him—ironically, in a daunting way—until her shadow loomed over his frame.
Even with fear, Daunting Spirit didn’t cut off his gaze from her haunting eyes, stubbornly refusing to back down and show submission.
He will not allow it, even if she’s now looking down at him as if he was nothing but a stain on her pristine white carpet.
“Let me guess…you and your co-leader posses something ‘valuable’, or perhaps provide your assets to aid me in bringing Qilin down.” Lillie tilted her head. “For this to happen, you would like to establish an alliance with me. Did I hit the mark?”
Daunting Spirit cursed in his mind.
Sh*t. It’s all that stubborn woman’s fault. He knew from the start that White Bird wouldn’t be enticed or impressed. Now he’s really going to die!
Was this her scheme? Make White Bird kill him so she could have the organization all for herself?
“Precisely.” Thank goodness his anxiety wasn’t dragged into his voice. “I take it we weren’t the first one to present this offer?”
“Nothing new, indeed. There were many who had the same idea as you that I’ve lost count.” Lillie pressed her pointer finger on the middle of his forehead, her long, sharp nail digging onto his epidermis.
One swing of her sharp nail on his face and his disguise will probably tear off.
“I will give you a chance, Daunting Spirit. Tell me, what’s unique about your proposal?”
