Lady Boss Please Spoil Your Husband - Chapter 351
According to the twin’s tone of voice, whatever the result was, it doesn’t sound good. Dread crossed their eyes, brows knitted together and the skin of their forehead folded under the masks.
An uncomfortable sensation churned Ethan’s stomach, his heart pounding out of his ribcage as anxiety washed over his senses.
Did something else appeared on Lillie’s diagnosis?
“It’s your lucky day.” Lillie opened one of the drawers in her desk and fished out something. “You’re free to leave, we’ll continue this meeting at another time.”
Puzzlement etched Daunting Spirit’s face. His hand flew to catch the item Lillie threw at him. The item was cool—a metal, he thought. He peered over his hand and distinguished a badge with an intricate detail of a phoenix engraved on it.
“That’s your exit and entry pass. Make sure you appear in the next meeting, six days from now, along with your co-leader.” Lillie stood up from her seat. “Failing to do so will cost not only your life, but everyone you’re affiliated to.”
Of course, the latter was an empty threat.
“Go now. Silent Death will see you out.”
No need to tell it to him a second time.
Daunting Spirit didn’t forget his manners; bowing, he left the core of the phoenix’s nest in moderate haste, his escort following him not far behind.
He’s so late for school.
With their uninvited guest gone, the twins approached Lillie’s desk.
“Did we interrupted something serious?” Cyra worriedly inquired.
“Probably not as serious compare to the result of my diagnosis.” Lillie removed her mask and looked at the twins with a frown. “And guessing by your behavior, it’s not pretty. What’s wrong?”
“First, we want to tell you that we’ll maim whoever examined your condition the first time.” Cyra gritted her teeth, annoyance oozing out.
“He’s a f*cking quack. His license should be revoked!” Cyrus grunted, mirroring his twin sister’s temper. “How could he miss something like this?”
Fortunately, the raid earlier wasn’t serious. The first line of defense was enough to restrain them, and that guy who infiltrated White Bird’s office wasn’t looking for a fight and was easily subdued by Silent Death.
No incident transpired on their boss.
Hearing his good friend being badmouthed by two of his wife’s most talented scientists, Ethan felt conflicted.
He was about to open his mouth and defend his good friend when Lillie beat him to it.
“Mokun’s cousin, Doctor Song Zhihao, is an exemplary physician; enough for me to trust his proficiency. We shouldn’t be too quick to judge.” Lillie gently chastised.
“Boss, he may be a Song and Mokun’s cousin at that, you can’t blame us for being furious.” Cyra looked troubled, her frown deepening. “His miscalculation would’ve not only endangered your life, but also the life growing inside you.”
Everything froze after the last part of Cyra’s sentence left her lips. Lillie and Ethan’s heart skipped a beat, their minds stopped functioning for a brief moment.
“…what?” For the first time in years, Lillie’s voice cracked in disbelief. Cold sweat streamed down her forehead and her body quivered at the sudden rush of inexplicable emotions. “You mean…I’m…”
Cyra looked directly into her appalled boss’ eyes. “Boss…
“…you’re pregnant.”
