Lady Boss Please Spoil Your Husband - Chapter 367
It’s been almost an hour before the doctor approached her with the results.
“Rest assure that your brother’s injuries are nowhere near life-threatening, Miss Amai.” The doctor said to Lillie outside of her ‘brother’s’ room. “He’s going to be discharged in a couple of days. So for the time being, he’ll be staying here with us to keep an eye on his concussion.”
“Thank you so much for looking after him, doctor.” Lillie’s put on an emotional character. “I was so frightened, I didn’t know what to do after I saw him in that state.”
“Gangsters these days are everywhere, miss, and they keep getting braver and braver everyday. It’s really fortunate that they didn’t do anything worst.”
Lillie’s cover up for Mochi was that he was at-the-wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time type of situation, wherein he was caught in the middle of a fight. Her ‘pitiful’ brother had no choice but to fight back, hence his bloody clothes.
His concussion, busted legs and shoulders—that were actually because of her—was covered up with a fake story that a gang member struck him with a metal bat—a typical, and easily acquired weapon.
“He’s fully awake now, so feel free to see him. His eyes may still be a bit blurry, but he told us that he can see better than before.” The doctor informed.
“I will. Thank you, once again, doctor.” Lillie bowed her head in gratitude.
“It’s my job, miss.” The doctor returned her polite gesture.
After the doctor left, Lillie head inside Mochi’s room.
What are the odds of actually meeting someone with such unique name. It’s not just a coincidence, isn’t it?
This man she accidentally crashed with her car…could he be the same Mochi Ethan had mentioned during their training? The master that taught him martial arts and everything about the Underworld?
The possibilities are high. He’s a Demon, that’s the first clue. Second, who in their right mind would name themselves after a dessert?
But to be fare, no one is really sane in the Underworld.
There’s only one person who Lillie knew that goes by the name Mochi. And that’s Ethan’s master.
Lillie was resisting the idea of asking him directly, lest she wanted to expose her identity and be called out for lying.
She’ll just have to ask Ethan when she arrives home.
“Ah, there you are.” Upon seeing a glimpse of movement from his peripheral view, Mochi fixed his gaze on Lillie. “I was wondering where my cute little sister went. I thought you’d ditched your poor big brother already.”
Lillie approached him and stood by the side of the bed. “I’m staying for a few minutes to ‘look after you’. It could earn us suspicions if I were to leave immediately.
Her dry and sarcastic remarks had Mochi wincing. “Ah, what a good sister you are.” He said with heavier sarcasm. “Are you sure you’re just a normal civilian? I find that hard to believe with the way you behave after knowing I’m a Demon.”
“You can say I’ve dealt with people like you.” Lillie vaguely replied, crossing her arms as she sat down.
“Dealt with?” He repeated, raising an eyebrow.
“There’s nothing to be puzzled about, really. With the condition of the world we live in today, everyone is bound to learn how to protect themselves sooner or later.”
Mochi hummed as he gave her statement a deep thought. Her words held truth. The world is a dangerous place—when was it never?
Then, she must be a young miss of an influential family, who was once kidnapped for ransom. Her family were frightened that she’ll be targeted by hoodlums again, so they hired a master to train her.
That’s the most plausible answer he could come up it.
How he came up with that answer? Well, it was pretty obvious to him that she’s really rich, with the way she carries herself; her manner of speaking, to be precise.
“Argh, I’m so hungry.” He m.o.a.ned in distress, his stomach making a sound—begging him to fill it with food.
He inconspicuously peeked at the woman quietly sitting at the corner of the room. “Ahh~ I feel so faint. My eyes…I-I think, I think I’m seeing black spots!” He dramatically wailed, then sneaked another peek with one eye.
She was ignoring him, the heartless witch.
“Aiyo, it would’ve been nice if I could eat something other than hospital food. I haven’t eaten for three days because of those bastards. Ah, if only I wasn’t hit by a car and had my legs busted, I could’ve—”
“Do you have money?”
“…”
Mochi stared blankly at the ceiling for a second before laughing sheepishly. “Oh my! I remembered my wallet fell off when I fought those—”
“Does your wallet happens to be shaped like a dango?”
Mochi nodded impulsively. “Yes, yes. It was this cute little thing from an anime that I got from comic al—” He cut himself off mid-sentence when he saw the exact thing he was describing on Lillie’s hand.
“Y-y-you—when did you…”
“Oh, this empty thing?” Lillie raised the item in her hand and waved it mockingly. “Saw it lying on the road. It couldn’t be yours, right? Yours fell when you were fighting your pursuers.”
“N-no, no, I—”
“I find it really cute, so I picked it up.” Lillie stared at him dead in the eyes, and said with all wickedness, “It’s mine now.”
“Noooooooo!”
For the first time in his life, Amai Mochi was outsmarted and thoroughly defeated.
What face is there to show when someone found out?
Suddenly, Lillie stood up. “I’ll be back.”
Mochi’s eyes brightened with hope. Did this wicked woman’s heart softened for his pitiful self?
As if reading his mind, Lillie added, “I need to call my husband.”
Her bluntness and the indifference in her tone made him want to vomit blood in anger.
Lady! You ran into me and caused damage! The least you could do was act like a responsible human being or pretend to care! You’re too heartless, ah!
When Lillie left the room, a hush commotion assaulted her ears. The security along with some medical staffs were running around the hallways as softly and orderly as they could to not disturb or worry the patients.
The securities were going around talking with their walkie-talkies, and the medical staffs went to each person standing or sitting by the hallways.
“Excuse me, miss?” Someone called her attention from behind. It was one of the security guards. “Have you seen a woman around here with ash-blonde hair and blue eyes? You wouldn’t miss her if you’d seen her.”
Ash-blonde hair and blue eyes? Someone who has a unique coloring as her?
“I’m afraid not.” She said. “Is something wrong?”
The security guard was looking a bit uncertain, wondering if he should answer her truthfully.
“Well you see, miss…we’re told that her husband was looking for her, but the receptionists were certain that his wife wasn’t here. The husband said his wife’s car was here, so he demanded the hospital to search the whole building.”
“Is that so?” The information was enough for Lillie to know who this ‘husband’ was, and who’s he looking for. “I’ll be on the look out, it that helps.”
“Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, miss. Thank you.” The security guard bowed in gratitude before he went on with his task.
Lillie had already lost count with how many times she’d sighed this day. Though, she couldn’t care less if it helped her breathe out the frustration bubbling in her chest.
She entered the elevator and pressed the key for the ground floor. It’s time to give those poor people a break from searching, and see this reckless and nervous wreck of a husband.
