Lady Boss Please Spoil Your Husband - Chapter 411
Ethan’s eye twitched again. “Play time’s over, old man. Fight me for real this time and I’ll do the same.”
“Oho?” Mochi’s smile widen. “I like your determination, boy. But where is this confidence coming from?”
Then, his eyes swept towards the outer bound of the stage where his opponent’s company was standing.
Ethan followed where his eyes landed and held back the feral growl bubbling in his throat.
“From them, perhaps? Are they your family [1]?”
“And what if they are?” He sees no point in trying to hide it, especially from him.
“Well, too bad for you then. I told you, haven’t I? When I beat you, I’ll come after them next.”
“Heh,” Ethan scoffed. “You can try.”
“You trust them to beat me when even you, their boss, can’t?”
“Undoubtedly. But that situation won’t happen because I’ll win.” Ethan took something from the inside pocket of his leather jacket. “And correction, I’m not the boss.”
His wife is.
But before Mochi could make a comment about it, he tossed something in his direction.
“I believe this is yours.”
Mochi raised his hand with a puzzled look and the item landed right onto it effortlessly. It was light, squishy, and rubbery. He can tell it was made of silicone.
He peered down at it and…
Blink, blink.
Wait a minute. This cute round coin purse looks oddly familiar. It looks exactly like…
“Ah, my wife picked that ugly thing up from a runaway thief who damaged her car after graciously saving his life. I guess you can use that once I’ll give you some spare change when I win the prize money.”
Mochi raised his head, dark gaze meeting Ethan’s smug face as he pocketed his precious dango coin purse. “You foul-mouthed brat. So you’re that wicked woman’s husband? Did you challenge me so you can get back at me on her behalf?”
“Precisely. I’m a petty guy, you see. Something my old master can’t beat out of me.”
“Then allow me to do that on his behalf.”
Ethan didn’t make any snide remarks to contradict Mochi’s reply.
But somehow, that deadpanned look offended him to a certain degree.
After Ethan unceremoniously returned Mochi’s coin purse, a quick banter broke out between the two before their fight noticeably became heated. The change of atmosphere had the audience on edge in both anticipation and fear as a powerful surge of bloodlust radiates at an impressively wide range.
Those who sat near the stage were unlucky. Receiving full force of these monsters’ suffocating ambiance wouldn’t do good to one’s health.
A handful even passed out with their mouths frothing and their eyes rolling back at their skull.
Comparing the current magnitude of strength they were fueling their hits to before, the first 10 minutes of the match seemed as if they were pulling punches—which was probably the case.
The cement stage waned, cracks and debris littering all over the once imposing platform from every missed hit and abuse of raw power the two were exchanging.
The emcee was already whimpering silently inside his booth. His confidence plummet and was rendered completely lost for words.
Absolute monsters, these two are.
Lillie clenched her hand, nails digging into her palm. A bit more force and it would draw blood.
The clothes made it difficult for her to discern, but she’s certain more bruises are littering her husband’s skin. A dark purple pigment was already spreading on his cheek, and his nose was bleeding from a harsh kick.
She almost ran straight towards him to intercept the fight when he lose his footing. He tumbled and his back cushioned the fall.
When Mochi was about to send another powerful kick, instead of quickly standing up or rolling over to avoid it, Ethan catches his foot.
Grunting, Ethan used him as leverage to pull himself up. Using the reverse uno card on him, he’s now the one standing while Mochi lied on the ground where he’d been, also with a purple cheek and snarling at him in annoyance.
Ethan didn’t wait for him to regain his bearing before raising his foot to strike his guts.
But Mochi wouldn’t be his former master if his reaction speed was inept.
“Tsk,” Ethan clicked his tongue and glared at the infuriating man. In spite of the fact that he’d managed to land a few heavy hits on him, it wasn’t an adequate indication to tell if his current strength was equal or even nearing Mochi’s true potential.
Years of training under him, Ethan could tell if his former master’s going easy on him.
As expected, Mochi didn’t listen when he told him to fight him seriously. The provocation with the coin purse was supposed to be for good measure.
If his personality remains the same, then he would’ve hated for his belongings to be tampered with. But it seems like provoking him like this still wasn’t enough.
For what’s about to happen next, let it be made known that one thing’s certain.
“You seem like a terrible teacher. Your students must hate you.”
Mochi hates having his ego slighted. And he most especially hates being told that he’s a terrible teacher.
“I’m a great teacher and my students adore me!” Mochi gritted his teeth, his expression darkened and eyes glowing red in anger. Veins protruded from his neck and forehead.
Now Ethan has done it. Mochi rarely allows anger to get the best of him. But when it did, get ready for the worst to happen.
Ethan wasn’t fazed. He stood his ground and braced himself.
But before Mochi could expel his wrath down on Ethan, fearful screams and a series of gunshots filtered in the arena.
Time was up.
Mochi straightened up to look at what was happening while not completely averting his attention from Ethan.
“It’s the White Bird!” A random person from the audience screeched. The armed forces who suddenly poured in and began shooting men in red were exactly who were identified to be thanks to their pristine white uniforms.
Well, it won’t be pristine for long.
And what’s this? People from the audience were also targeting the men in red.. White Bird must’ve planted them to spy on the people in their hit list.
