Lady Boss Please Spoil Your Husband - Chapter 414
“Who was that guy anyway and why were you two so eager to meet him?” Gabriel asked, nimbly knocking out a man in red when he tried to slice him with a katana.
“He was my former teacher,” Ethan replied.
“No way!” Li Yifei gaped in disbelief. “No wonder you were having a hard time.”
“Amai Mochi was his name, wasn’t it? How come we’ve never heard him before? Someone who personally taught one of the powerhouses of the Underworld, his name should be recognizable.”
“But it isn’t. He must be one of those hidden masters.”
Gabriel hummed in agreement at Li Yifei’s observation. “Talented people are countless. Not all of them would wish to appear in the spotlight, preferring to work among the shadows.” How cool.
“I bet you wish you were like that, huh? Unfortunately for you, you choose to stick with me.” Li Yifei shot him a bright smile.
“You just love to expose yourself, don’t you?”
“It invites the fun. Do you blame me?”
“Never.” That’s just who you are. And I like that about you—was left unspoken but not unheard.
His answer made Li Yifei’s face grow hot. A red blush adorning her cheeks up to her ears.
Lillie, whose been watching after the two with half of her attention invested to their surroundings, was stuck between feeling fond and exasperated by their bold display of affection.
Children, please, stop spreading dog food around. Save your lovely exchange when our lives aren’t at risk.
Though she’s the one to talk when she and Ethan excelled in throwing dog food at unsuspecting victims in any situation.
Still, it’s weird witnessing your sibling flirt with their lover. Is this how they feel when she and Ethan do it?
Lillie chooses not to speak about it.
Sadly, Ethan didn’t have the same idea.
“Now is not the time for romance, you two. Focus on getting out first before you eat each other’s faces.”
“Brother!” Li Yifei whipped her head at him, scandalized.
“As much I want for you two to wait before the wedding, I would only be calling myself a hypocrite if I started lecturing you.”
“Ack! Too much info! Too much info!” Li Yifei and Gabriel screeched.
Lillie sighed and shook her head ruefully before pinching Ethan’s biceps, which earned her a delightful yelp from her naughty husband.
“Stop teasing the kids.”
“But I wasn’t teasing…” Ethan pitifully stared at his wife as if he was a wet puppy.
Who’s spreading dog food now?
Lillie ducked and bend down when a random Demon came up to her and was about to slice her head off with a katana. She intercepts him with a kick under his feet, making him stumble and knocking the weapon from his hand.
Stepping on his chest, she took his weapon and stabbed him precisely through his heart. The man immediately stopped thrashing after that.
Someone from the audience, Lillie presumes. This is what you get for trying your luck instead of running away. A wise man is certainly not him.
Lillie shook the blood off of the katana. She tested the weight and twirled it with practiced ease.
Mm, good. She’ll keep it until they’re at a less crowded place.
“Amai Mochi is a force to reckon with—one who you should deliberately interact with without caution. What you had witnessed earlier was a mean to appraise his strength for later use.”
Lillie and Ethan weren’t anticipating ending up victorious in this fortuitous endeavor. Ethan admits he’s not strong enough against his former master. And he’d rather cut his legs and eat it than let his pregnant wife face him even if it’s two against one. Not if he has anything to say about it.
Thankfully, Lillie was agreeable and knows her limit. It was also a relief that Mochi didn’t pursue to fight her as well.
The four of them continue running. They were halfway near the exit when Lillie skid to a halt, making Ethan and their respective siblings abruptly stop beside her.
Lillie turned her head and carefully looked in a particular direction when something caught her eyes.
Or rather, someone.
Three familiar faces, to be precise—at a place where Lillie dreads to expect them to be.
Lillie sighed and lamented internally. Nothing seems to go according to plan these days.
“What’s wrong?”
“Over there.”
Ethan frowned unhappily when he saw what made his wife side-tracked.
Of course, they would be curious if they heard about the event arranged by one of the Underworld Leaders.
He would understand why Han Taiyi and Chu Lizheng are here. They’re Heaven-ranked students now.
But what the heck is Grandmaster Yang’s precious granddaughter, Yang Nina, doing here? Where’s that teacher who’s supposed to be looking after the Earth students?
More importantly, all three are heavily injured! Poor Yang Nina looks like she’s ready to keel over that even a strong wind would be enough to knock her feet off.
This is not a drill an Earth student is supposed to be involved in, ah! Teacher, where are you?!
Even after he and Lillie warned her earlier about the danger brewing in the city that would accumulate at this exact place, the stubborn girl still went like a moth to a fire.
The only thing that’s good in this situation is that they’re not wearing their uniforms. God knows what these Demons will do when they spotted the three Soaring Dragon students mingling in a place where they’re unwelcome and clearly at a disadvantage.
Demons made it their business to confront the students as much as the academy made it the students’ business to confront Underworld business.
In other words, they don’t get along.
With a few exceptions.
Unfortunately, there seem to be quite a lot who recognized them. Must’ve been when they were prancing around in the city earlier to sightsee.
“Do you know them, brother-in-law?” Li Yifei stared at the three individuals that caught her sister-in-law’s attention. They were being swarmed by a good number of Demons for some reason. Who are they?
“Friends,” Was her reply before she and Ethan sprinted away from their group and to the rescue.
Li Yifei and Gabriel had no choice but to go after them. If they were Lillie’s friends, then they need all the help they could get.
Lillie mercilessly sliced the nobody Demon’s back and kicked him away from Yang Nina just before he could seriously harm her.
No matter how much these three Soaring Dragon students try to hide it, the fear and exhaustion was evident in their features and body language.
Witnessing their tragic state, it seemed like nothing could calm the turmoils and ominous rage steeping relentlessly in Lillie’s eyes.
