Lady Boss Please Spoil Your Husband - Chapter 415
Yang Nina didn’t let herself feel relieved nor let her guard down after her attackers were unceremoniously thwarted from their haphazard assault on her.
Even with her blurry vision, she could discern that her savior was a handsome and delicate-looking young man. She recognized him. He’s that guy accompanying Mochi’s final opponent before everything went wrong—oh, there he is not far from his side.
If her nerves weren’t raging with adrenaline, she would’ve swooned like a young maiden in love. Though, she’s honestly ready to collapse. She’s lost a lot of blood, two or three of her ribs are probably fractured as well as her knee and ankle.
So, she could only shift all of her weight on her uninjured leg. It was difficult to fight like this. Furthermore, one of her hands was occupied with putting pressure on a puncture wound on the left side of her abdomen to slow down the bleeding.
In conclusion, she fights with one properly functioning hand and leg.
Actually, she should feel grateful. Her seniors, Han Taiyi and Chu Lizheng, are the reason why she’s still standing and putting up a fight. If it weren’t for them taking most of the hits meant for her, she would’ve long been a cold corpse.
“Hey, it’s alright. We’re not here to harm you.”
Wow, that’s a really pleasant voice. If he continues talking, Yang Nina feels like she’ll instantly fall aslee—No! Wake up! This is not the time and place! But seriously. His smooth voice was like a cool and gentle stream washing over her adrenaline-induced nerves and calming them.
“Get away from her!” Lillie heard Han Taiyi’s thunderous roar at her left. She saw her and Chu Lizheng rushing towards them. They took the opportunity to slip out of the fight when Gabriel and Yifei suddenly took over their opponents.
But before they could reach Lillie and Yang Nina, they were intercepted by Ethan when he noticed their hostility.
He fears they might indiscriminately attack Lillie. It’s liable that their judgment are clouded with agitation and fury upon seeing their junior with an unknown man who’s unlikely to be anything but a Demon—the same ones who have been coming at them with an intent to kill.
“Stop. We mean no harm.” He raised his hands amicably.
While Ethan tried to placate the two Heaven students, Lillie drew her attention back to the youngest student.
Yang Nina’s knees finally gave out from sheer exhaustion. Lillie was there to catch her in time.
“Tha…thank…you.” Yang Nina managed to breathe out. She was trying to catch her breath so excuse her for barely forming a proper response. Just try to be in her shoes and fend off more than ten, bloodthirsty Demons. Let’s see how you’ll fare.
“How are you feeling?”
“I—I’m…fine…I can still…” She’s definitely not fine, but why would she admit that?
Honestly, who would feel okay after having your skin sliced open and your bones broken? She has an above-average pain tolerance to the point she wasn’t screeching in pain and bawling her eyes out.
Yang Nina was honestly a bit proud of herself for pushing this far for someone of her caliber and state of well-being.
After all, an Underworld war wasn’t even among the list of unexpected things to happen in an Earth student’s first mission. It never crossed her mind.
“What is a child doing in such a place?” Yang Nina heard the brave man who challenged Mochi ask her two seniors as they approached them.
Hold up. What did he call her?
‘Brave Brother, I’m still awake and coherent, alright? How dare you call me a child. Can a child do what I did? Don’t underestimate me. If you give me a minute, I can pick myself up and give you a taste of what I can do, ah.’
Due to exhaustion, Yang Nina became slightly muddled and seemed to have forgotten just who this Brave Brother fought and survived.
Sensing that Yang Nina was about to say something that might offend their enigmatic benefactors, Han Taiyi and Chu Lizheng stopped before Lillie as the latter outstretched his arms to gesture for Yang Nina to be transferred to him.
But the small step backwards told the two Heaven students that their benefactor doesn’t plan on conceding with the notion.
Previously, Han Taiyi and Chu Lizheng were alarmed when they saw four figures approaching them at high speed. Two of which seem to be going after their junior sister.
They prepared for the worst to happen. Their hands were already full with their own set of Demons that they thought it’ll be too late for them to protect Yang Nina who was looking worse for wear and ready to throw the towel.
To make matters seem worse, it’s that group with the guy who can keep his ground with a perilous opponent like Mochi.
They thought that the heavens must be on their side after seeing as the group had no intention joining their opponents in oppressing them to go after their heads. The delicate youth saved Yang Nina from a crippling blow.
What a naive way of thinking. The situation doesn’t seem all that hopeful when the youth refuses to give their junior sister back in their proximity.
“Please give her back.” Chu Lizheng’s jaws clench, reining himself from combusting in anger.
Under normal circumstances, Lillie wouldn’t protest in handing Yang Nina over to Chu Lizheng. It’s impolite and she doesn’t want to impose herself on them more than what’s necessary. Because to them, she was a stranger, a Demon who could pose a serious threat—saving them notwithstanding.
But this wasn’t a normal circumstance. His condition doesn’t look promising, neither does Han Taiyi’s. So, steeling her resolve, she meets the two Heaven students’ icy glares head-on when she doesn’t move to transfer Yang Nina over.
Even if she wanted to, Yang Nina was too weak to struggle out of her benefactor’s firm yet gentle grasp. She could feel the tension thickening and she hoped to dispel it by returning to her seniors’ side. It was a futile attempt. On a different note, she hates herself for feeling warm and comfortable nestled in this possibly-dangerous, delicately handsome man’s strong arms.
It’s every girl’s dream to someday be carried like a bride by a handsome man, alright? Sue her!
“I’m sorry for being brash, but I couldn’t possibly trust you to not drop her when the two of you aren’t looking any better than she is.” She bluntly said. “Believe me, if I had any ill-intent against you, I wouldn’t have beaten around the bush and just let you alone and be flayed by the others.”
“How the other person’s mind works is unknown to us. You can’t possibly presume that the design of an individual is something we all can predict with a hundred percent certainty.”
“That’s very wise of you to say that. But then again, what are three Soaring Dragon students doing in a place they’re not supposed to be?”
