- Chapter 462: Upgrades for All! Yes, even for you!
POV Some Random Netizen:
A girl lay on a fluffy pink bed buried beneath a mountain of pink pillows. Her eyes were glued to the massive screen of her television, which was the only source of light in her entire room.
‘What is this?’ The moment she saw her favorite video host post a video, she immediately pressed the button on her phone, and the video appeared on the giant screen of her television.
Even the title itself had its allure, ‘The rare, hidden item.’
The man in brown, with his face hidden beneath the mask, sat in a comfortable-looking armchair, the same brown color as all his clothes.
“Do you wonder what is the single most precious legendary item I have discovered, and you don’t know that it even exists? No, I believe it to be the rarest one in its category in the entirety of LOMM.
“For now, let’s start with a simpler question. How many dragons are there? I mean the true ones with the noble aura and long horns.”
The girl couldn’t help but also ponder the questions, wondering what the answers to them were.
“The number is four.”
‘Four?’ She was confused as during the legendary battle that shocked both worlds, there were only three of them—each being a beast so terrifying and awe-inspiring, it made her mind shoot to the stars.
The images of the three dragons, one by one, appeared and vanished on the video, with only a short commentary to them—the main villain of the current storyline, Vesuvius, the nameless undead dragon turning corpses into weapons, and at last, the most famous of them all, the seven-headed demonic dragon that was known even before the LOMM came to life, Satanael.
“Now, do you know this NPC that always appears in the background?” The image of the small and cute elven girl appeared right on the screen—her colorful eyes, her long blonde ponytails, and at last, her cute horns, almost melting the girl’s heart.
“It is a known fact she was just a regular elf at the beginning. However, now…” The brown host clicked a button on his remote, and a short clip played in the background.
Multiple players stood in the dark room, facing the bleeding police-state girl and the young horned elf, her eyes shining in the darkness.
Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, the elf vanished, replaced by an emerald dragon with long gemstone horns crowning its head, and the clip cut.
“Yet now she is a true dragon. How do I know she is a true dragon and not a lesser dragon or some mutated wyrm? I am a dragonkin, and I can feel it and see it in the same way you humans can recognize the face of your own mother; it is instinct. Those who want more concrete proof, look at the horns, and you will see it too.”
Seeing that, Tatiana couldn’t help but hug a pillow at the incredible surprise and the showcase of cuteness. She refused to believe the cute girl could transform into such a cute dragon.
‘Hehe, I want to pet her in her elf form and ride her in her dragon form! Maybe even in the opposite.’
The video host continued, cooling down her excitement. “That means she has become a dragon afterward! Do you already see what I am trying to say?!”
Pictures appeared and vanished behind the host, showing red liquid, thick golden metallic marrow, and liquid of almost pure, colorless light.
“As you see, there is a precedence. Those are all the lesser race-changing and body-augmentation items of the dragon race. We also knew even angels and demons can transform mortals into their kind.”
The host’s voice became more and more excited with each word he said, threatening to explode at any moment.
“So what I am trying to say is that there are very likely some unbelievably rare race-changing items that can turn one into a true dragon!”
Tatiana’s eyes almost rolled over as she couldn’t even begin to grasp how expensive and life-changing such an item would be.
‘Whoever gains it would not only get eternal life but also the power to shake the world.’
POV Vesuvius:
‘Hehe, I can only hope that the news will spread far and wide. My weird minions, should we work on it.’ Even though Vesuvius had no intention or even ability to widespread his soul fragments, the knowledge of it would prove great motivation for what he was going to do.
The dragon looked at the floating islands in the burning, and freezing sea of his divine kingdom. All were packed with his kin, lesser dragons, land dragons, and wyrm and his minions, all waiting for his words, the greed and desire in their eyes.
“My kin, my vassals, and minions.” His voice boomed through the entire small world, and everyone turned silent, “This is the war for world dominance. The war that will decide who will sit at the top of this world, who will survive, and who will be trampled into the dust of history.”
For a moment, he hesitated about his upcoming words, but knowing that to win, he would need all the power he could muster, he continued, “So all of you who stand here have proven yourself to be loyal to our cause. To help us win, I will no longer be stingy with my blood, marrow, mana, and even my divine energy. All of you will be uplifted higher than ever before.”
“Every single one of you will at least taste the power of my marrow and bathe in my mana. For those best of you, I offer you the chance to taste my golden, divine blood.”
Vesuvius waved his claw, and a single golden droplet floated into the void, brightly shining in golden light. At once, all the eyes fell on it—drawn to it like a moth to a light.
‘Time for a mass upgrade of my minions and kin. For us to survive, this is necessary.’
