Last Shelter Online - Chapter 224 Busted!
“I told you this wouldn’t work. You’re just wasting your time,” Dimitri hissed at the two men facing him. They were both very angry and walked, cornering Dimitri in the hidden room.
“You think WynterRain can accept that failure? You think he’d be proud of what you did, huh?” the man said in a deep voice, trying to be intimidating. However, Dimitri wasn’t afraid, instead he prepared his Katar and threatened them both to back off. “If you come any closer, you will die on the spot,” Dimitri exclaimed. He had positioned himself to attack the two of them.
The two men in front of Dimitri burst into laughter. Thinking that Dimitri’s threat was some kind of useless joke. “Did you forget that we have a contract? If you kill me, you will die with me too. Are you ready to part with your precious friend?”
Dimitri’s body looked trembling. He clenched his fists tightly on the handle of the Katar, as if it would help him to calm down. However, he knew that what the two people who were standing in front of him were saying was true. And he couldn’t fight them even if he could.
“Why? From your loser’s expression, it looks like you’re really afraid of your secret being exposed, huh? Do you regret coming to us in the first place?”
Dimitri didn’t answer. He then lowered his weapon and stood up straight. Next, Dimitri spread out his arms like someone who had given up. “I’m still better than you guys. At least I’m still working according to his orders. Not like you guys who just give me orders without doing anything. Even if there is the most useless person in our group, it must be the two of you.”
The two men hissed angrily at Dimitri’s sarcasm. They stared at each other for a second before charging at Dimitri simultaneously without using any weapon.
Slam!
Just as the three of them had fallen to the floor and rolled violently at Dimitri, who was trying to use his bare hands to defend himself, the door that was not closed was suddenly kicked very hard from the outside. The three of them immediately turned towards the door and found two players already standing there with the expressions on their faces that they couldn’t read.
“Let go of him or you’ll end up in this place,” Ace snarled. He had already taken out his twin swords and swung them, slashing through the air. Seeing Ace’s unexpected arrival made Dimitri in shock, and his eyes immediately moved to blame Hiro who was standing next to his best friend.
“Who the hell are you?” one of the men let go of Dimitri and rose to his feet with a scythe as his weapon. He was ready to challenge Ace and NightFall whom he didn’t recognize.
“You really are stupid. If it was my brother who sent you, I don’t know why he chose idiots like you,” Hiro interrupted. And without waiting like Ace did, he threw the Batarang he had been holding since before entering the room. He threw it so hard that it cut the scythe bearer’s arm and the scythe fell to his own feet.
“Arghhhh!” the man screamed in pain. His blood was pouring out profusely, and he had fallen backwards, rolling on the dusty wooden floor of the room.
Hiro captured Batarang who was flung to him again. Just as he had threatened Dimitri’s two male assailants with the same weapon, the man had already knelt before Hiro and clasped his hands together as if asking for forgiveness.
“Not only you are stupid, you guys are pretty useless too,” Hiro said sarcastically, then lowered his Batarang. However, the man had a devious intention from the start. He quickly took out a chakram-shaped weapon from the empty air and swung it at Hiro.
Clank!
Ace, who was really fast, had already shot and withstood the chakram attack using his two weapons that had been combined, making his power doubled for a while. Then, he slashed the man without a second thought until the man fell and rolled up at his partner’s side.
The room that looked very dirty and had not been used for a long time was instantly transformed into a sea of blood. All that was left right now was Dimitri who had his back pressed against the wall behind him. He couldn’t run. Not after he was caught having a relationship with the terrorists that his best friend hated so much.
“I guess we have many things to discuss,” Ace said. He spoke in a calm tone even though his heart hurt from the betrayal of his best friend. Even so, he still looked at Dimitri with the same look. It made Hiro who saw it felt a little strange.
Dimitri nodded like a child who had just been caught stealing by his father.
“What should we do with those two?” This time, Ace asked Hiro’s opinion about the two men. They managed to stop their bleeding with a special potion. Hiro was already crouching in front of the two of them, as if he was trying to threaten them in case they planned to run away at any moment.
“We bring them both. I have this thing in my inventory. I guess it will be helpful.”
[Silver Handcuffs]
[Can be used to catch unwanted players. Players who are paired with Silver Handcuffs in their hands will be weakened. Neither their physical skills nor magic spells can be used.]
Hiro put the handcuffs on the two terrorists who were shaking their heads in horror as they looked into Hiro’s eyes that didn’t have the slightest pity.
Then, Hiro took out another Silver Handcuffs and handed it to Ace with the intention of using it on Dimitri as well. However, once again, in order to respect the feelings of a man who had just been betrayed by his best friend or confidant, Hiro let Ace decide.
“You wouldn’t do that to me, would you, Ace?” Dimitri shook his head as Ace took the Silver handcuffs from Hiro’s hands. He accepted it with a nod.
“You left me with no choice.”
Ace pulled Dimitri’s hands a little roughly, then activated the item he was holding.
[Player Dimitri has been locked by Silver Handcuffs]
[Player has been disabled]
Dimitri tried to destroy it by stretching his arms, but his effort was in vain. The item couldn’t be destroyed that easily, especially when his power was weakened.
Hiro took out a Portkey Crystal from his inventory and gripped the shoulders of the two prisoners. Meanwhile, Ace did the same. His hand was on Dimitri’s shoulder.
“Where should we go to take them? Exalted base?” Hiro asked, making sure they were headed to the same place.
“No. my home. I’m sure you know where it is because Liberty once smuggled you there,” Ace said. It made Hiro clear his throat instantly because only once did Hiro go to the house where Ace and his sister lived, and it was a memory that was too hot and sexy to tell.
…
After they teleported using the Portkey Crystal, it only took one second, and the five of them had already arrived in the living room of Ace and Liberty’s house. When they appeared together, Liberty was in the living room, enjoying her ice cream.
“Brother, Hiro? How did you guys get together? And who are they?” Liberty looked dumbfounded. She really had many questions on her mind. However, his older brother gave a short command.
“Your room, now,” he said, looking at Liberty as if giving a signal from his sharp eyes. Liberty locked her lips tightly, then walked quickly to her room to hide her whereabouts. She was already very curious about what her brother and boyfriend were gonna do, but she could only listen to what Ace said right now, which showed the anti-rejection mode.
“Not here. I have a special room in the basement. Isn’t that right, Dimitri?”
Ace’s words made Dimitri swallow hard his saliva. Hiro was instantly curious about what was down there.
The five of them walked into the room with many questions in their heads. Hiro had to push his two prisoners to get into the room full of mystery. He was already curious about what awaited him.
Underneath the house was a bunker-like place with a steel gate that only accepted a secret code for the access. Ace used the fingerprints of his ten fingers to open the gate.
Inside the room was a very large room, and there were many monitor screens lined up on the walls. Meanwhile, in the middle of the room was a circle with a shiny white line that Hiro knew as a track for the robots created by creative people of their time.
Winggg!
The sound of a very loud engine followed by a very bright lamp in the room made Hiro slightly surprised. He then pushed the two prisoners so that they both fell on the floor while Hiro could freely observe what was available in Ace’s secret room.
Ace sat in front of a giant supercomputer and activated all the monitors in the room. It displayed the same image, namely the image of the room and those in it. It was like a live stream.
“So, who should I start with? What about you, my best friend Dimitri?” asked Ace in a voice that was clearly different from before. This time, his voice sounded very low, like a psychopath threatening his prey.
Even Hiro shuddered when he heard it.
“No, please no, I have nothing to do with them. You have to believe me,” Dimitri pleaded. He suddenly turned frightened, as if he knew what he was going to face after this. Hiro arched an eyebrow questioningly. However, he knew that for now he should just shut up his mouth and enjoy the spectacle.
“Good. That means I have to start with you.”
