Last Shelter Online - Chapter 238 Monica
Hiro briefly explained to Liberty everything that had happened while the girl listened attentively. Her face was very serious, and she could understand it right away. Liberty had great faith in Hiro, and she didn’t doubt a single sentence. After hearing what Hiro had said, Liberty looked at her surroundings. She felt that her life had just been transferred from heaven to hell in a matter of seconds.
“What should we do now? We have to find Ace!” Liberty didn’t even know which direction was north and which direction was south.
Meanwhile, Hiro had just checked his friendlist again and realized one thing. Liberty’s status had not changed. It was still offline. It seemed that the friendlist system could no longer work normally.
Hiro looked at Liberty, then tried something.
[You have added Liberty to your friendlist]
The girl looked at Hiro questioningly, but she didn’t say anything because she was still confused by the huge change. She only accepted the friend request that appeared from Hiro.
Ding!
[Liberty is now your friend]
A new menu that didn’t exist before suddenly popped up on Hiro’s homepage. There was an icon in the form of a silhouette of a human head, and Hiro clicked it.
[Friendlist]
[Liberty (F) is online]
He didn’t know the purpose of disrupting the connections with the people he had known before. Hiro guessed that maybe it could happen because of an imperfect system when it was formed again, or there was an error during the modification process. With that one bug, Hiro would need a little time to connect with the Everlasting members again.
[You have added Noah to your friendlist]
[You have added Jacob to your friendlist]
Hiro started to get busy, adding the names he remembered. For a name with a simple username, Hiro could remember it easily. However, for a username with a combination of letters and numbers, Hiro only remembered a few. Even so, he still tried hard to add all of them one by one.
“Hiro, I can’t contact Ace. Can you contact him? Aren’t you already friends with him?”
Hiro was already friends with him, but it was the same as the others. Ace’s name also showed offline status. However, he suddenly remembered something. Ace was definitely offline when the attack occurred.
“He’s not here,” said Hiro, while looking at Liberty. His gaze showed certainty. Liberty stared at him, slightly disbelieving this time.
“What do you mean he’s not here, Hiro?”
“He was offline, logged out of the game when the incident happened. He’s safe, but he’s not here,” said Hiro, telling the meaning of his words. Liberty was taken aback. The girl looked confused again. She already knew that this world was just a game, and unlike herself who couldn’t leave this place at any time, her older brother, Ace, could do it as easily as a wink.
“Can he come in here again, Hiro? I have to call him. I have to tell him I’m fine.”
This one, Hiro didn’t know what to answer. He really didn’t know. Based on what happened to Alice when the incident happened, Hiro was sure that it would likely be difficult to access the game for a while. Until the Last Shelter Online developers could get back the stolen system from the hacker.
“He can’t, Princess. But for calling him, I think I can give you a little help.”
Liberty was surprised when Hiro’s dragon suddenly spoke to her in the voice of a young boy who had just hit puberty. Liberty looked at Hiro questioningly, but Hiro only signalled the girl to believe in the dragon.
“You think you can do that, Alice?” Hiro asked, not hiding his voice anymore while talking to Alice. Because it looked like it was no longer needed.
“Wow. The dragon can talk! I just know that.” Liberty was distracted easily after Alice nodded her head, as if she understood what Hiro had just said.
“Sure. Even without me inside, the pet can talk. Have you ever been talking to your cat, Princess?” Alice asked, repeatedly calling Liberty as Princess. It suited her very well.
“How could you know that I own a cat?”
“Honestly, I know everything about you more than just your cat, Princess. So, why don’t you show us?”
Hiro looked at Liberty questioningly. Was now a good time to talk about a cat? He already knew that Liberty really liked cats because the password chosen by the girl to lock her special room in Johnson Hope Hospital was her cat’s name.
“What for? My cat is very shy and hates strangers,” Liberty replied while looking at Hiro as she spoke. Hiro pointed to himself. Did she just call me as a stranger?
“Just summon it. I am going to have a chat with the cat,” said Alice confidently. Hiro didn’t know what Alice already knew while he didn’t know. But, Alice kept forcing Liberty to get her cat out like it was the only important thing to do right now.
Liberty looked doubtful. Her eyes moved to Hiro and waited for the man’s giving her the best advice. She couldn’t even decide for herself what to do until Hiro nodded.
“Just show the cat, Libe. I will make myself invincible if it’s needed.” Hiro only needed to use the Void Phantom to hide himself.
Liberty took the Hellsing Whisper out of its holster. At first glance, Hiro thought the girl would point her gun at him, but his guess was wrong. The girl was holding a keychain in the shape of a white cat with thick fur. It looked like a Maine Coon.
Liberty squeezed the small object while closing her eyes. Her lips moved to chant something in a language Hiro and Alice couldn’t recognize. It seemed like a beast language?
FLOP!
In an instant, a white Maine Coon Cat larger than the largest horse breed Clydesdale appeared before Liberty. The cat straightened its fur when it suddenly summoned in a place that was far from beautiful.
Rawwrr!
Its black pupils flattened, and the cat growled while baring its sharp teeth.
Neither Hiro nor Alice really thought that Liberty’s cat would be that big and quite scary if they stood too close.
“I’m really sorry, Monica. I have to summon you to a bad place like this. I know you’re mad at me for getting your fur dirty, right?” Liberty approached the cat’s front paws, then wrapped her arms around its neck, which was exactly the same height as Hiro.
Rawr!
“See… The cat can’t talk. I don’t even understand what the cat is saying even though I’m using the beast tongue.” Liberty looked disappointed with that one feature. She even complained to Alice who had given her false hope.
“Well… you have to work a little harder to talk to a majesty.”
