Last Shelter Online - Chapter 245 Meta: The Demon
Hiro and Liberty immediately ran towards the strange-looking tree, while Spyro followed the two of them, flying low above their heads. As he got closer to the tree, Hiro became even more convinced that it was the tree in his memory. It was from an old game that was quite entertaining for his childhood, even though he could only watch it.
“They can’t come any closer,” Liberty explained, telling Nicholaesz and Monica who were already waiting for them near the tree. The air near the tree was very cool, and the lighting was bright. The atmosphere made Liberty instantly miss the warmth of the Moonspire city at night.
“I want to go home soon. Was our house destroyed too, Ace?” sighed the girl. It was clear that there was disappointment in her words. Hiro noticed it. In fact, the game world was created as a paradise to live in, but that paradise just turned into a hell. This time, Hiro felt a little sorry for the fate of the Last Shelter Online, which was still unclear.
“I don’t know, Libe.” Ace replied, still worried about his friends who still had no news until now. He was more worried about their fate than the house he had bought at a very cheap price, even though he bought it from his own father.
Hiro approached the tree and looked at it from a very close distance. He lifted his head to examine in more detail what was above the highest peak of the tree, but he found nothing. The shape was the same, like a decoration. However, surely the tree had meaning.
“Are you going to touch it?” asked Liberty as she appeared by Hiro’s side. She noticed the man’s intention from Hiro’s raised left hand that moved slowly toward the tree trunk.
“Genesis Tree, touching it should be fine, right?” Hiro sounded like he was talking to himself and ignored Liberty. However, just as his hand was about to touch the trunk of the strange tree, a very strong electric current suddenly made him flinch.
Zzaap!
[-50,000]
Hiro reflexively pulled his hand away. “Shit, why is the damage here getting bigger? And what was that?” he grumbled in his own head. Until a familiar voice appeared, startling him.
“It was me. I hope you don’t forget that I’m here, NightFall.”
It was Meta. Her voice had grown more mature after consuming the food in the form of the curse that Hiro had given her, either intentionally or unintentionally.
“You just made me lose 50% of my health points? Don’t you have any work to do?”
“Don’t go near that sacred thing. I won’t let you.”
Hiro could hear Meta’s voice suddenly change to a threatening tone. Meta banned him from touching the genesis tree? Seriously, it was Hiro’s favorite tree since he was a child.
“Are you okay, Hiro?” Liberty looked worried after seeing Hiro grimacing just a moment ago. Hiro nodded, and he moved his hand again to touch the tree. This time with the right hand, because he knows that Meta was in the cursed sigil in his left hand.
“It’s useless. You won’t be able to do it until you beat me.” Hiro could hear Meta’s voice very close to his ears like a whisper. Before his hand touched the tree, his vision suddenly turned dark and he could no longer feel anything.
One second later, Hiro could see something again. He needed to adapt first to be able to see clearly what awaited him.
Ding!

The notification was still very new to Hiro.
When he looked around, he found himself in a very quiet place, and the only source of light in that place came from the dark purple flames that blazed silently, circling the room. It formed a wall.
The room with the red clay foundation was circular and was no more than Hiro’s apartment in Japan.
“Welcome, Nightfall. Finally, we see each other in person.”
It was Meta’s voice, a voice resembling that of an elegant grown woman. However, this time, the voice didn’t come from inside Hiro’s body. Then, Hiro reflexively moved his neck and turned towards the place where the woman was sitting on a throne, like an iron chair standing on top of a pile of human skulls.
From her face, the girl looked like she was in her early 20s with large breasts and her most noticeable feature being the two large black-looking horns protruding from the sides of her head and pointing upwards. Upon her head was a red band which separated her purple hair, framing her bangs from her hair below the band. Worn upon her forehead was a black color sigil of pride of Lucifer and surrounded by several dots around the top. Tied around her neck was a small red-colored strap. Meanwhile, Seilah’s attire consisted of a very revealing black-colored leopard-printed kimono, bearing the demon slavery marks all over her body skin. The kimono was wrapped around her torso with a thick, decorative red ribbon tied behind her back, and her outfit was complemented by thigh-high socks that revealed her heels and toes.
“What place is this?” Hiro asked, really confused right now. How could he see Meta’s form if the demon was supposed to reside within his body? Hiro guessed that he was being temporarily transferred to a special folder to be able to communicate directly with the demon.
“I don’t know what tree you’re trying to touch. As far as I know, I can detect the immense divine power of that thing, and I don’t want to lose the body I’m guarding because he desperately wanted to touch the sacred object,” explained Meta, then stood up from her throne and walked over to Hiro.
The girl’s posture was very good, and her walk was straight. If he didn’t remember going out with Liberty, Hiro would have been distracted by the girl’s appearance.
“Is this really your true form, Meta?”
“My true form? Ah– you mean this girl you are looking at in front of you?”
Hiro nodded, even though Meta was very different from the seductive succubus, just standing in front of Hiro with a flat and calm expression, he was still tempted.
“Well… I’m currently living inside your body. And I always get a new form according to what my master wants. Since you are my master, it seems that you want my form to look the way it is now. So, here I am.” Meta didn’t even show the expression that a normal girl would do. Her face remained flat.
