Learning To Love Again - Chapter 101 Determined To Help Her
Half an hour later, Shen Xun leaves her room fully dressed and ready to go.
She had woken up very early so she could visit Han Yuan before he leaves for work and ask him not to transfer her. Since this new job position was assigned to her by his parents, she has a feeling that he knows nothing about it. She might be able to convince him to not send her away.
She got a bit distracted ‘playing’ with Sun Tang and Sarah and lost track of time. Han Yuan will leave his house in less than an hour so she needs to hurry to be able to make it in time.
While driving, she gets a call from one of her friends, HR, an underground hacker. “Shen Xun, you need to be careful, someone is on your tail.”
“What do you mean? How could the police find anything, I thought you had handled it?”
Shen Xun had followed Sarah and Sun Tang all the way to the basement of their apartment to kidnap them, then she drove their car into a lake. HR hacked into the building’s security system and erased the footage.
It had all been executed flawlessly. She was certain that the police wouldn’t be able to find a thing.
“It isn’t just the police looking into this, a private investigator is on it as well.”
Shen Xun inwardly panics. “Is this person investigating me or the missing women?”
“I’m not too sure. My guess is that a family member of one of the girls hired someone to look into it. If it’s just the kidnapping, then It’s very unlikely for them to name you as a suspect. No matter what the person is looking for, to be safe it would best for you to lay low and not do anything too risky for a while. I’ll sort this out.”
HR’s voice is filled with worry.
He can’t help but worry for her. This brave and strong woman that he fell in love with commits such atrocious deeds.
He can only watch as she goes crazy and obsesses over an unfeeling man. Since he can’t stop her, then he’ll help her. He is determined that no matter what she does, he will support her.
“Okay.” She breathes in a sigh of relief.
Shen Xun ends the call and parks her car. She has arrived in front of Han Yuan’s villa.
She sits in the car for a while, unsure of what to do. Han Yuan hates it when people come to his private home.
She has worked under him for twelve years and has only been inside four times and those were for urgent, work-related matters.
Now, she doesn’t even have a position. He might get mad at her for stopping by, but this is the only way.
She had tried going to see him at his office, but she wasn’t even allowed inside the building. Han Haoran recently told the guards not to allow entrance to anyone who isn’t currently employed unless they are there on official business. For some reason, she is no longer listed as an employee.
She can’t even get a hold of Han Yuan’s men that she used to collaborate with. They were not very many to begin with, but now there isn’t even a single one. They’re all gone, some were fired and some just disappeared.
Shen Xun summons some courage and walks out of the car. She can make an excuse that she was sent by his parents or something. She rings the bell at the gate and stands for a while but no one responds or opens it.
Several minutes later, Housekeeper Mu comes to the gate. He recognizes her and greets her. “Good morning Ms. Shen. May I ask you why you’ve come here and so early for that matter?”
“Housekeeper Mu, can you let me inside. I have something important to discuss with Mr. Han.”
Housekeeper Mu wants to tell her that Han Yuan has already moved because she is in charge of his security and should know these things but he hesitates.
Whenever Han Lili comes to visit, Han Yuan just ignores her so she comes to bother him, the innocent housekeeper instead.
She tells him about celebrity scandals and sorts of things, but most importantly Shen Xun. She talks about how this woman gives her the creeps and seems untrustworthy.
He has only seen Shen Xun a few times and knows nothing about her personality but thinking about it now, he can’t help but agree with Ms. Han.
What kind of maniac shows up at their boss’ house this early in the morning just to tell him something?
Doesn’t she have a cell phone? She’s never heard of e-mails?
With his arms folded behind his back, Housekeeper Mu tells a lie straight to her face. “He didn’t spend the night here. He was at a dinner meeting and slept in a hotel. I’m not sure which one. Do you have a message that you want me to pass on?”
