Learning To Love Again - Chapter 133 Ea
“What’s wrong?” Han Yuan leans on her door and watches Su Yichen pull a large blanket over Su Lian.
“Daddy, mommy’s sick.” Once he sees his father, Su Yichen immediately runs towards him and tugs the edge of his shirt. “I’m taking care of her, so I won’t go to school today, okay?”
Han Yuan looks at Su Lian and walks towards her. “You’re sick?”
“Why are you here, when did you come?” Su Lian ignores his question and stares at him closely. He is wearing the same shirt from last night and his hair is slightly messy. Despite all this, he still looks very handsome.
There is a slightly husky air to him.
“I didn’t leave, I slept in the guestroom.” Han Yuan sits at the edge of her bed and places his hand on her forehead.
Her body temperature is very high. “I’ll call a doctor.”
“No need.” She shakes her head and pulls the blanket off. “I just need some rest.”
“How did you get sick? Were you thinking about your mother?”
Su Lian turns her head away without replying.
She isn’t going to tell him that she got sick because she was thinking about him all night.
Seeing that she’s ignoring him, Han Yuan doesn’t mind. He looks down at her bedside table and sees a half-eaten tray of food with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a bowl of untouched alphabet soup.
Is this is what his son meant by ‘taking care of her’?
“I’ll get you something to eat.”
“I already did.” Su Yichen says in protest.
“Well, she needs more food.” Han Yuan carries him up in his arms. “And it’s time for you to get ready for school.”
“I’m not going. I need to take care of mommy.”
Han Yuan tickles him up and tosses him in the air.
Su Yichen screams and laughs loudly until he gives in. “I’ll go, I’ll go to school.”
Watching the two play around, Su Lian doesn’t know what to say.
This feels nice. They’re almost like a complete family.
After dressing Su Yichen up and having his driver send him to school, Han Yuan returns to Su Lian’s room with another tray.
It’s a bowl of porridge and a banana.
‘That’s all’
Su Lian pouts when she sees it.
As a foodie, Su Lian is a very picky eater.
If it doesn’t taste good, then she won’t eat it no matter how hungry she may be.
She wants something with juicy flavors, not this bland looking meal. She would rather eat Yichen’s ‘raw’ alphabet soup.
Han Yuan notices her contempt of the meal but he just laughs it off.
“Don’t starve yourself.” He places the tray by her bedside and waits for her to start eating. When she doesn’t, he takes the spoon and makes an attempt to feed her, but she turns her head away.
“I won’t eat that and I don’t need you to take care of me. You can leave now.”
Han Yuan raises a brow at her. ” If I don’t take care of you, who will?”
Su Lian gets angry.
Is he trying to call her a loner?
Even though she is, she doesn’t want someone pointing it out.
She doesn’t really like building relationships but she still has a few people that she is very close to. Sadly, they’re in America and she hasn’t been back long enough to have a whole posse here. Still, she won’t tell him that. “I’ll get my friends to take care of me so you can go.”
“Friends? You mean like Kim Xia?” Han Yuan touches his chin. “Isn’t she busy with her tour?”
“We’re not that close – how do you know that I’m friends with Kim Xia?”
How does he know?
Han Yuan’s face turns dark remembering that he wouldn’t have known about his son if not for the photo that the secretary had brought in.
Without giving her a direct reply, he pulls out his phone and shows Su Lian the picture of her, Kim Xia and Yichen at the beach.
Looking at the photo, Su Lian comes to a sudden realization. ‘So that’s how he found out about our son.’
She had hidden him so well before. She was too careless that time.
Han Yuan takes his phone back. “Be a good girl and eat your breakfast.”
Su Lian doesn’t argue this time.
She takes the bowl and eats while he watches her.
Feeling uncomfortable, she turns to glare at him. “If you don’t stop staring at me, I’ll dump this on your head.”
Han Yuan turns his gaze away but he still smiles. “Hurry up and finish your food so I can bathe you.”
Su Lian coughs and nearly chokes on what’s in her mouth.
