Legacy Of Forgotten Times - Chapter 187 One Month
Jaime pulled out her seat as she sat down. She had a cold expression on her face as always. It was hard to read what she was thinking.
“What’s up? You look like you are down,” said the blond boy in a blue jacket.
This was Ace, second student character of Phantom. Just like her, he was a full-on attribute character. Actually, there was a time people shipped Jaime with him just because they were in the same club.
In Autumnfall, there was a club system. Basically, you could create a club and, if five or more students joined, it would become an official club and you would get your own thread for it. It was the same in this place and both of them were members of the Combat Enthusiasts Club.
Jaime turned her head towards him, but, instead of answering, she just gave him a death stare. She knew that this was not how she would normally react. If she was still Alina, she would greet him and make small talk, but, recently, Jaime’s influence on her personality became bigger and bigger until it replaced hers completely… At least she was suspecting that. She could never be too sure. Maybe this feeling was just a placebo effect from what Linri said.
“What? Cat got your tongue?” Ace said sarcastically.
Jaime did not like his attitude. It reminded her of an annoying person she hadn’t seen for more than a month. Yes, it had been a month since the fight between Linri and Rina. Ever since he had disappeared. It was the same with Principal Richard. From Brie, she had heard that Linri was in a coma. Apparently Mary-Ann told her that, so it couldn’t really be called a trustworthy source.
From her description, Jaime guessed that he was going through his evolution process. However, Jaime did not remember how long it would take. She hadn’t really read Linri’s bio in Autumnfall RP club, but she knew that he had gone through his evolution in the two-week frame after the False God event. Then why was it taking so long? Was there a complication because of his early evolution?
“No, but I am in a bad mood, so, if you don’t shut your trap soon, you might lose it,” replied Jaime coldly.
These days, whenever she thought about Linri, she would get annoyed beyond measure. He kept doing risky stuff and she was afraid that he would end up dead soon… Well, at least he wasn’t here now, so she wouldn’t have to worry about that today.
Yes, today was the start of The False God event. Everything pointed towards that. Richard was missing, and it had been a month since The Game, so the time frame also fit. However, that brought up another question: since Linri was not here, how were they going to deal with his [Fire Lord] form?
Leon had five different forms and the event started with his [Fire Lord] form. Among all his transformations, the [Fire Lord] form was the most aggressive one. He had a bunch of AoE attacks and all of them packed a punch. If not for Kasaix using the loophole in his ability description, more than half the students would have died or been knocked out just at the start.
But Linri was not here and, most importantly, he had already evolved, meaning his [Fire Manipulation]’s description should have changed, so they wouldn’t be able to use the same tactic this time. Ugh, that selfish prick! Since he was not here, there was a high chance that he might be waiting for this event to pass.
Jaime and the other transmigrators had a strategy meeting yesterday and the result was that none of them had a compatible power set against Leon’s [Fire Lord] form. Drake’s power was explosion based due to his Destruction Dragon bloodline, so it was unsuitable. Kou’s wind would only suit to make Leon’s flames burn even hotter. Fosse’s sound-based attacks might work, but he would need to get in range for that and it would be pretty hard with all the AoE fire attacks. Jin’s transforming weapons wouldn’t help either. Jaime and Rondo were attribute characters, so they didn’t have any powers in the first place. The only person who could maybe fight against Leon was Kris due to his long-ranged attacks.
As a result, they decided that only Kris would challenge the [Fire Lord] Leon and they would fight against his other forms. If the fight gets too dangerous they even made an escape plan, but most likely it wouldn’t have been necessary. The school still had behemoths like Rina, Zave, Keiji, Snow and all the other teachers. Among the students maybe, aside from Rina, only Tory could challenge Leon.
However, Jaime still didn’t like that prick. He had tried to kill her precious bebe Brie and there was no way Jaime would forgive him for that. Now that Linri was not here, she had made some attempts to get closer to Brie, but, thanks to Mary-Ann, he wasn’t able to get that close to her.
She should have never agreed to make a joint character with that prick Diego. He was obsessed with demons and now her precious bebe Brie had to suffer for that. Speaking of which, Diego’s teacher character had also finally arrived at the school: Amie “Evil” Jane. She was the teacher responsible for the elementary magic class. Just the air around her was enough to make one feel disgusted. Well, what could you expect from someone whose nickname was literally evil?
Actually, she would have wanted to see her meeting with Linri: they would suit each other perfectly. Once she had that thought Jaime unconsciously smiled, but she soon stopped and sighed. Just when was he going to return? She was sure that he wouldn’t just kick the bucket over something as simple as evolution, but she was still worried. What if, because of all the changes he had done to this timeline, the ritual didn’t work and he was already dead? Then who was she going to both love and hate? Who was going to make her so annoyed that she would wish he was dead?
She needed to get stronger. Strong enough that she would be able to catch him and lock him up in a basement so that he wouldn’t go and do something dangerous that might get himself killed.
..That was a joke, obviously, but she was still worried. In the original club, Jaime had never gone through evolution. That was because she spent most of her time playing with Brie during the fights. Jaime was just someone she created to play the big sister role to Brie and nothing more than that, so her road to evolution was obscured. What kind of a path did she need to take if she wanted to get stronger? Just training with her sword wasn’t going to cut it. She needed something to trigger her inner potential, but she did not know what!
Even Rondo had it easier than her. He was a paladin in-training of Church of the Sun, so he could ask help from his senior paladins from there, but what about her? She didn’t have any relatives left, let alone someone she could go for help. She hated herself for being lazy in Jaime’s creation. If she just put in some time to design her parents and other relatives, maybe she would have been in a better situation.
*BOOOOOOOM*
A loud explosion happened in Jaime’s classroom which threw everyone around to the wall, including her.
She got up from the ground to look at what happened. An emo looking man clad in white flames was looking at them smugly. He had pale skin and purple lips. The corner of his eyes was black and his hair was a mish-mash of black and white. He looked more dead than alive… This was Leon. The antagonist of The False God event. However, he shouldn’t have been here. The first boss battle should have happened in the schoolyard!
[Flame Wave]
The white fire around Leon started to spread and come towards them in waves.

Just the initial attack was enough for her to lose 15 health! This shouldn’t even have been Leon’s full strength. He must have been scouting them. Then here is the real question… should she escape or confront him? If he confronted [Fire Lord] Leon, then she was not sure if she would have enough strength left to fight against [Water Lord] Leon just like she planned with the others! She was about to escape the room using her [3x Superior Speed] when she remembered what that hateful guy always said. There was no such thing as a perfect plan, so you should always have a backup. If you don’t even have that, just improvise. Maybe it was not exactly these words, but it was close enough!
As Jaime was debating whether to escape or not, the white flames around Leon started to spread again. He had an uninterested expression. It seemed like he wanted to be done with this place real quick and attack the other students.
[Flame Wave]
Seeing that Leon was getting ready to attack them once again, Jaime did not run, instead she took a fighting position. She took a horse-riding stance and grabbed the hilt of her sword.
[Silver Sword First Form: Ame o Kiru]
Jaime drew her katana and slashed the flame wave coming towards her with [3x Superior Agility] and [2x Exceptional Strength], her katana leaving behind afterimages as a result. But she didn’t just stop with that!
[Silver Sword Fourth Form: Shunpo]
Jaime dashed through the opening in front of her and appeared in front of Leon. She drew her sword from its sheat once again.
