Legend of an Asurian Warrior - Chapter 61:Alcie and the omni-god
James stumbled through his room’s door and closed it behind him gasping for air. Clambering through into the bathroom, James leaned on the sink. He looked into the mirror and saw only darkness with a faint blue flicker far away. His hand reached for the tap and turned it on. Cupping the water and splashing on his face, James regained a little sanity. Looking back up at the mirror, a demonic face suddenly lunged at him and James coughed up blood into the sink. It swirled with the water and down the drain.
Voluntarily falling backwards into a sprawled seated position with his back against the wall was all James could do as he recovered from the match.
“Fight’s over … explain … everything … NOW!” said James through heavy breathing. The omni-god’s voice was heard crisply in his head:
“I met Alcie many years ago. She was the only person to ever escape the destruction of a universe in the hands of the original destroyer. I fished her out of the inter-universal portal system and helped her. She told me that she’d take down the original destroyer ever if it killed her so she worked along side me and the other gods to take them down. But once that was over and I was in possession of The Book I gave her the life she lost and placed her in the universe you found her in. But after my son’s death I knew Macull was going to do something so I took precaution. I made this fail-safe body and entrusted it with Alcie. Once Macull took The Book I pretended to follow his commands while filling Alcie in with details I learnt. I told her Macull would go after The Author to rewrite the timeline using someone as perfect weapon. It was you all along.” the omni-god paused to give James some time to take it all in.
“But, he told me I was going to just be a replacement for his brother. Not a weapon to take down … The Author?” said James in mightily confused tine.
“There’s a tier list that explains who they are but I’ll slim it down to ‘creator of all dimensions’. Alcie has probably realised your the weapon as well and is going to bring your friends to help. But in the meantime we need to win this tournament. It’s the only way to get close enough to Macull with enough of his trust to stop him. But ultimately it will be your choice to make when the time comes. Join him and have a perfect life or stop him and continue this one.”
“You really aren’t trying to make this any easier are you?”
James rolled onto his hands and knees and pushed himself up onto his feet. Shakily, he made his way over to his bed where he collapsed onto it face down. Even without the full power of his celestial weapon, James’ satanic blitz left and bigger and more painful aftermath. Every bone creaked, ever muscle was tense, and every organ moaned. He rolled onto his back and looked up at the ceiling.
“Why me?”
Down on the ground looking up at James’ window, Samantha held a wavy jade dagger with a pair of wings sculpted at the end of the handle. She gripped it tightly. It was her duty. As a saviour to those who are taken by evil. The only know weakness to it’s power in her hand. It was her job to kill the blue beast. The beast who had killed her mother and father. The beast that slaughtered her village. The creature that would pay for all the years of starvation, thirst, pain, loneliness, and fear. Two more matches and it would be her turn to bring the flames.
