Legend of an Asurian Warrior - Chapter 64:Limitations...
James leaped from the balcony onto the arena and stared Lucifer in the eyes. There was a moment of silence as the two predators stalked each other; waiting for the first strike to begin the fight.
It with Lucifer who attacked first with a swift downwards slash of his axe into the ground sending dust and rock into the air. James stamped on the ground and pushed a hand out towards the dust cloud.
“Kinetic rebound!” said James and a blast of air blew the dust away uncovering Lucifer who was now a mere metre away. He spun on the spot and swung his axe upwards into James ribs. The blade firmly wedged itself in James’ flesh before Lucifer used James as a punching bag with the axe keeping him in place.
After baring multiple relented punches and kicks, James looked other to the group and saw they’d retrieved William.
“NOW!” yelled James. There was a burst of flames and Lucifer jumped backwards taking his axe with him. The omni-god emerged from the flames with James’ sword in hand shrouded in blue flames. At the same time, James made a break for the group looking back.
“Thank you.” he said under his breath.
“James, what’s going on?” asked Abigail.
“There isn’t much time to explain. Me and the omni-god fused a while ago but now that we’ve split some of the Zamerium got into their system. If they stand any chance at defeating Lucifer we need Liam to remove it.” explained James. He looked down at Samantha and saw the wavy blade tucked in her belt. She noticed at took it out passing it to James.
“If that’s the real Lucifer out there,” she looked over to the two clashing, “then this is what you need to take him down.” James took the dagger and turned to the omni-god.
“Liam, when I say, pull all of the Zamerium out. Got it?” said James. Liam looked from James to the fight and back to James without the slightest clue about what was going on.
“What now?” asked Liam.
“We leave.” replied James.
“What? We can’t leave him here!” protested Alcie. James simply snapped his fingers creating a portal below the group and they all fell through.
“What a nice group of friends you have. Too bad they won’t get to see you perish like the rest of the gods.” said Lucifer. The omni-god gripped the dagger and prepared to attack. They launched forward faster than ever but Lucifer swung his axe round in the direction of their face. The omni-god put their hand out repelling the axe, wrapped their leg around Lucifer’s arm, and stabbed the dagger directly in the stab wound in his chest. The area around the blade sizzled and smoked a little as Lucifer writhed in pain and fell to the ground.
“H-How?” asked Lucifer through clenched teeth.
“Two things: The law of the weapons means anyone holding a celestial weapons can’t hold another. This causing one to be repelled. And that blade was forged to killed you by the people of village you destroyed.”
Suddenly, the omni-god sent flying sideways into the seating area. Macull stood beside Lucifer and put his hand out for Lucifer to grab. He did and the two of them fused into Macull’s body.
“Hope you don’t mind Lucy, I got some unfinished business to sort out with my father.” said Macull. The omni-god pushed off from the seating area causing it to be annihilated and they rocketed towards Macull. In response, Macull sprinted at equal speed towards them and spun around for a high kick. The omni-god caught it and double palm thrusted into Macull’s chest who was sent flying backwards wide-eyed with a large pulse of energy.
Macull landed on the arena at the opposite end to the omni-god who landed shortly after. Macull, in a fit of rage, put a hand out in front of him making a large runic circle. Small streaks of light were drawn into the centre before a large beam of energy burst out towards the omni-god. They retaliated with a punch from their right hand in the middle of the beam causing it to refract in all angles.
“You’ve reached your limits old man! I will kill you and become the new omni-god!” screamed Macull. His eyes were bloodshot and cuts started to form on his arm as he pushed his limits.
“I’m not the omni-god.” Their outer layer of skin turned to dust and fell to the ground as the illusion wore off revealing it the omni-god be the real James. Blood trickled from Macull’s mouth.
“Who do you think you are to stand against me!?” he spat.
“I’m a hero.” said James. He clenched his fist tighter and poured out all the energy he had and more. His sleave was blow off from the force as the two titans of power clashed. Macull put his other arm out and the beam of energy grew even more. James’ eyes burst into red and blue flames as his arm ripped apart down to the blue energy mesh.
“You are not a hero! You are nothing to me!” screamed Macull.
James’ sword began to glow and James felt a hand on his arm. He looked to his right and saw his father, a translucent white spirit, staring at Macull.
“Dad?” asked James in disbelief. He didn’t say a word but looked at James and nodded with a proud smile on his face. James nodded back. His father tightened his grip on James’ arm and was sucked into his body. Soon, more and more people emerged from the sword and joined James. It felt as he had been reborn and he wasn’t going to waste it.
Shifting into a stronger stance, James filled his arm with all this new power and punched with all his might. Red and blue wing of fire sprouted from his back followed by white feathered wings. James’ horns and tail returned as he tore through flesh, blood, and bone with this final punch to end it all. His arm fully extended and the beam was parted straight down the middle by the force of the punch that vaporised Macull at the other end.
