Legend of an Asurian Warrior - Chapter 65:...Broken
James fell to his hands and knees breathing heavily as his wings, horns, and tail receded. That final burst of energy took a lot out of him so he’d have a little bit of time before his energy recharged and overpowered his body.
A small white ball of energy, about the size of a marble, emerged from the back of his hand and flew away. Soon, it was followed by more and more as the spirits of the sword, now with their duty fulfilled, were finally allowed to rest. The final orb floated up in front of his face and James watched in curiosity as it drifted not upwards but forwards. It stopped above a battered book and pen on the ground a while but quickly rose to join the others. James crawled over to the book and picked it up.
“The Book!” exclaimed James weakly.
He quickly tore it open only to find all the pages but one had been vaporised along with Macull. All that was left was a blank page gleaming at James. He reached for the pen and sat upright with The Book in one hand and the pen in the other. He already knew what to write. He scribbled the words down and the letters glowed. Once done, he placed The Book and his sword on the floor and they were quickly swallowed by a portal.
James looked to his right just in time to see the sun set on the island leaving him in darkness.
The pain was overwhelming. But it ceased quickly. Just like the universe. An explosion of energy.
