Legend Of The Perfect Emperor - Chapter 74
A sect is a place where disciples under the tutelage of teachers go to learn, grow, and strengthen themselves At least that was what Tian Yi had initially thought prior to visiting this Dragon Gate Sect.
Having never been to a sect before, Tian Yi naturally only knew of them from stories and the mouths of the people within the Celestial Palace. And despite being in the Dragon Gate Sect for less than a day, he could already tell that the things he was told might not necessarily be true.
Tian Yi looked at Zi Yuhan and then to Zi Chen.
Zi Chen’s soul was not clean, but it was not heinous enough for him to punish. However, for some reason, he felt uncomfortable around him.
If he could justify his reason for killing Zi Chen with something like that, then he would’ve killed him when they first met.
But alas, he could not go around killing people just because he felt uncomfortable around him.
‘I only wanted to travel in peace’ he sighed inwardly, his gaze filled with longing.
No matter where he went, be it the Qing Shan Continent or this unknown world, there would always be trouble waiting for him as though they were prepared beforehand.
Are the Heavens trying to say something to him? Is it telling him to return home, a place so peaceful that it was boring?
Tian Yi sighed, sounding like an old man who could not decide what he wanted to do.
‘Maybe I should just kill them and get this over with’ Tian Yi thought to himself, unintentionally leaking some of his killing intent.
“?!?!?!”
Zi Yuhan nearly pissed his pants from fear upon sensing Tian Yi’s leaked killing intent. He felt as though there was an ancient beast glaring at him with bared fangs! And it was unimaginably terrifying!
Plop!
Zi Yuhan dropped onto his knees instantly without hesitation, causing Zi Chen and Li Qinqin’s jaw to drop with shock.
“F-Father? What are you doing?” Zi Chen asked him in a trembling voice, not daring to believe his eyes.
His prideful father who wouldn’t lower his head even if he faced death was currently in a position considered the lowest of lowered heads the kowtow position!
“What the hell are you doing, father?!” he cursed out of shock and bewilderment.
However, Zi Yuhan was too terrified to even hear his own son curse at him.
Tian Yi’s leaked killing intent was too powerful for cultivators like Li Qinqin and Zi Chen to notice, so in their eyes, Zi Yuhan’s kowtowing was completely unexpected and shocking like thunder in a clear sky.
“P-Please spare me” Zi Yuhan said in a begging tone, his mind chaotic and filled with nothing but fear.
Tian Yi finally noticed that he had accidentally leaked some killing intent, causing Zi Yuhan to nearly turn retarded from fear.
He instantly withdrew the killing intent fearing that Zi Yuhan might really turn retarded if he delayed it any longer. “Excuse me; that wasn’t intentional,” he said.
However, even after Tian Yi retrieved his killing intent, Zi Yuhan continued to kowtow as though he didn’t even notice it. “Please spare me Please spare me”
Tian Yi sighed. Although he has noticed it for quite some time now; it was really tiring to be around mortals because of their fragile state. He was afraid that if he didn’t restraint his every breath, then he just might accidentally turn everybody around him into dust.
“Father? Father!!!” Zi Chen desperately called for him continuously only to be ignored. His body began trembling from anxiety; the way Zi Yuhan acted had struck fear into the deepest part of his heart.
Forget about Zi Chen, any child that would be unfortunate enough to witness their parent act like they were on a chopping board would be terrified. However, in Zi Yuhan’s case, he’d rather be on a chopping board than stick around that killing intent!
Zi Yuhan has been through plenty of life-and-death situation in his life, but even the most deadly one that nearly took his life couldn’t compare to the killing intent in terms of dreadfulness!
Li Qinqin watched with dumbfounded eyes as Zi Yuhan cuddle himself like a scared dog, and Zi Chen trying to wake him from his weird condition. Having never seen anything like this before, she was stunned by bewilderment. To think she’d witness an elder of her sect a Disciplinary Elder to the boot act like a scared dog was simply so shocking that it’s amazing!
“Meng Yi What’s happening to him?” she asked him out of curiosity.
Tian Yi smiled bitterly at her question. How was he supposed to answer her? That he accidentally released some of his killing intent, causing his mind to go crazy?
“He’ll be fine I think” he sighed.
Despite being the cause of Zi Yuhan’s current situation, he didn’t feel as much guilt as he thought he would.
‘Will I stop caring one day?’ he wondered.
Waving his sleeves, Tian Yi helped Zi Yuhan recover his sanity.
Zi Yuhan suddenly felt as though his soul was pulled back into reality. He looked around in puzzlement what had just happened to him? All he could remember was that he had sensed something horrifying to the extreme, and then his mind went blank nearly instantly.
Zi Yuhan then looked at Zi Chen whose face was filled with despair; it was an expression that he’d never seen before one filled with anxiety and anguish.
What could have possibly happened to have caused him to turn like this? Zi Chen was someone who wouldn’t cry even if his life was on the line!
Then, Zi Yuhan remembered Tian Yi, the intruder. He turned to look at Tian Yi who was also looking at him.
“Scram or die.”
These three words mumbled by Tian Yi caused him to tremble nonstop.
Zi Yunhan nodded viciously, and he stood to run out the door, stumbling a few times before leaving.
Zi Chen quickly followed him, his gaze never looking back even after leaving.
Tian Yi silently watched them leave without giving chase.
“Are you sure you want them to get away? What if they return?” Li Qinqin asked him in a worried tone.
“If they return, then it is obvious that they do not value their life,” said Tian Yi in a calm tone. “And when that time comes I will deal with it…”
Li Qinqin silently nodded, the admiration in her eyes towards him growing stronger.
