Legendary Sword God Sect - Chapter 188
“Alexander, what’s the great piece of news that you had for me? Why don’t you share it with everyone now?” Right when Selena was about to step out eagerly, Nightin suddenly threw a question which left Alexander speechless, rooted to the spot and unsure of what to say.
“Sect master, can I tell you about this privately?” Alexander asked with a brittle smile, though he knows that it was too late from the moment he tried to show his leadership and dominance.
“I’m sure that you know of the punishment that has surprisingly yet to occur.” Nightin replied as hundreds of feather arrows formed behind his back.
Seeing those feathers, Alexander took a deep gulp of saliva and stepped back subconsciously, they didn’t possess any sharp edge or offensive power, they were custom made for tickling one to the point of beyond death while alive.
“Sect master, the good news has to do with me!” Right when Alexander was stuck in a pinch and unable to decide on what’s the best choice he should make, the voice of a woman called out from behind.
Before even turning around, Nightin already knew who it was. “Abby, to think that you would have grown from a little girl into a woman this quickly before things even settled down.”
“That’s for sure, I’m going to have another identity from today onwards after all.” Abby said with a smile, walking towards Alexander slowly, her delicate arm then hooking around his arm.
“Oh, what identity?” Nightin asked, knowing that jumping to conclusions is the foolishest decision one can make.
“Seven months down the road from now, will be the day that I assume the identity of a mother, which also falls on the thousand year anniversary of the Inferno realm which has been renamed, now known as the Nirvana realm with all the other forces agreeing.” Abby said with a smile, her hand already caressing her own stomach without realising.
“Alexander, how old are you this year?” Nightin asked while approaching them slowly.
“I’m twenty two years old this year.” Unsure as to why Nightin was asking this question, Alexander answered truthfully only to result in everyone staring at him.
Nightin asked under the tense atmosphere “How old is Abby this year?”
“I’m nineteen this year.” Abby answered in place of Alexander upon seeing the beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, maybe it’s from the awkwardness? She thought.
“How old do people usually get married in the mundane world?”
What? That was Alexander’s only reaction as he answered truthfully “The age of fourteen for ladies and sixteen for male, but even they would only settle down after eighteen to mature and find their source of income first.”
“So while others are only at the age to get married even in the mundane world, you’re already going to be a father soon?”
Alexander was anxious when he first heard this, but when he calmed down and thought about it again, he realised that it’s a good piece of news for him to have a son now right when he has the full support of the sect.
“Sect master, can I kindly ask for my son to undergo the rebirth right after he first is born and nourishment tonics for Abby before the child is born?” Alexander asked politely, though he had always been restraining himself whenever speaking to his friends and sect master.
“If you manage to gain the approval of everyone in the sect by then, then I might consider approving it since no one will find it unfair.” Nightin said with a smile, letting no one present figure out his true intention.
As for the reason, it’s to bring Alexander’s leadership skills to the next level. Even though he possessed the authority to command everyone in the sect right now, it was through his dominance and authority, but what he wanted was for Alexander to gain everyone’s trust through his charisma.
“Yes sect master, I’ll make sure to do that.” Alexander answered respectfully before taking his leave, not forgetting to repeat in an amiable tone “Remember the conditions I’ve said, those interested are to gather at my army camp three days later from now.”
Among all those disciples who heard Alexander’s tone, none of them paid much attention to it besides one youth, light flashing in his eyes with a smile on his face.
After all the legacy disciples made their respective recruitment introduction, Nightin then asked all those who are weaker “Who here will prioritize the life of others over yourself? Please step out.”
Out of the tens of thousands of disciples, only about seven stepped out without any hesitation, the rest only following after seeing them, oblivious to the fact that they have already deemed themselves as failures.
Sighing, Nightin didn’t even get the thousand of disciples who hesitated to step back, all he did was push them back with a gust of wind gently and before they even realised it, they were still standing on the same spot they were on previously.
“I’ll repeat this once for all of you left stranded here without lodging, your talent may be slightly lower, but the true reason that resulted in you guys being behind your seniors and juniors is because of your heart. If you don’t even know what’s the reason behind you cultivating, then you should just pack your stuff and leave right now. Until the day you find a reason that motivates you to cultivate and push you beyond your limits.”
Sighing again, Nightin mocked himself for being a sect leader who can’t even teach his disciples how they should begin cultivation. After all, not everyone in this world faces setbacks such as being mocked, trampled on, or the death of their loved ones in the hand of cultivators. Some of them come from affluent families or to the sect with a noble identity, all they’ll know is that they need to build up their own force in the sect for their family or where they came from, the thought of unity and being a disciple never coming across their mind.
“The seven of you will report to great paladin Angel and great paladin Rance, but follow me to the martial tower before all that.” Nightin faced the seven and brought them to him, clouds forming beneath their feet with a chain linked to them.
“As for the rest of you, mark my words and ponder about what I’ve just said. If the life of the sect really doesn’t suit you, maybe become a merchant or take over a city for yourself, maybe only then will you understand what it means to care for others and how tough it is for me to manage the sect. But if killing is in your blood and veins, then let me know, I’ll arrange something for you separately.”
Once again, there was that one disciple whose eyes revealed his uniqueness. They may be hidden gems for now, but they’re also those with the potential to become the second batch of leaders.
Suddenly, Nightin sensed danger looming in on him from behind as he abruptly turned around and deflected the attack with his sword, only to realise that he was being attacked from four directions and their attack power was actually only slightly weaker than the initial attack.
Is it a leader with four of his underlings?
That was Nightin’s first thought as his order and chaos wings blocked off the attacks from the side, his sword parrying the attack from the front while he made use of his firestorm energy to form a wall behind.
“Just who are you?” Nightin asked as he hurriedly dodged backwards, barely evading that attack that was aiming stria
“Hmph, why don’t you make a guess?” The assassin replied, the four clones vanishing before Nightin’s eyes as two daggers forming a cross slice down on him from above, yet it was actually aiming for his back with the assassin changing directions at the last moment, something only cultivators who have perfect control over their body since it might result in death as a double edged sword.
