Legendary Sword God Sect - Chapter 198
“Now then elite swordmaster Zilas, am I qualified to challenge you if I’m serious?” It was only a simple question, but that was more than shocking enough to everyone. A first timer had offensive power nearing that of a elite swordmaster which made him the strongest besides Clyde and Zilas out of everyone present,
“Oh, you weren’t serious? Maybe you’re worthy of being my opponent.” Zilas sneered and before Clyde could even react, his sword appeared in hand. “Oblivion, let’s have some fun.” His words, seemingly having a magical effect, caused a change in the simple looking sword in his hand.
It evolved. The sword extended in length, forming a second part that’s the tip, it was sharp and resembled a lance and an enchantment material fortified itself around the sword. It was a sword that can bring about destruction if its master wishes to, that was the aura it’s emitting to everyone present at the very least.
“Dylas, we have met someone worthy of being a rival.” Nightin said aloud as well, Dylas shaking violently in his grasp.
“Mystical swords, into position!”
Swords of different colours surrounded him and rotated about him. These swords were his closest companions and right now, they’re going to accompany him into battle.
“Numbers are pointless in the face of true power. Dark star, oblivion blast.”
Zilas pointed his sword towards Nightin slowly as a surge of energy gathered around the tip of the sword, the energy being compressed further with each passing moment.
“Phoenix Surge!” After considering the heavy energy consumption of the ‘Wrath of the phoenix’, Nightin went the extra mile to create a move unique to himself, a modified version suitable for him.
Flames cloaked around Dylas, wind circulating violently to embrace the sword as it dashed towards the concentrated beam as thin as a dagger. It resembled a raging snake that divided into countless serpents as they opened their mouths wide to devour the beam.
“Phoenix counter!” After gaining the aurora law, Nightin realised that he had gained absolute control over his firestorm law and since that was the case, he devised the plan of making full use of everything on the battlefield, from his opponent, him and the environment.
The serpents merged together and opened its mouth, a blast of flame gathering and amplifying from the energy contained within the oblivion beam.
“Oblivion judgement!” Zilas chanted within his heart rapidly.
Young fella, you’re finally here, but I need you to be defeated right now. Zilas sighed internally as a black ball of energy devoured the ferocious attack. As for the form of attack, it was the pressure it emitted that forced Nightin to back out, blood leaking from his mouth as he struggled to stand straight.
“Kneel down!” Zilas commanded as the pressure increased tremendously. Even the sword users far from the center of the pressure were struggling to stand straight even though they weren’t part of the targeted area.
“Don’t even think about it. You’re proud of your achievements when you’re already in your early forties while I’m not even twenty. How about this, I’ll challenge you again three years down the road, the loser shall pay with their life on that day.” Nightin asked while panting, each breath getting tougher to inhale.
“Very well, I’m already satisfied for today. As for whatever matters you have to attend to, go ahead and finish them up. Three years later, we’ll meet in the ancient tower of conquest. Take note, it’ll all be for naught if you can’t even qualify for the hundred floors tower.” Zilas laughed as he vanished into a portal, his whereabouts becoming a mystery.
“Zilas, just what are you plotting?” Clyde asked, only to be pushed back by a blast of energy.
“Don’t question my decisions. I’m doing all this for us.” ZIlas transmitted a voice message to Clyde who was left stupefied, trying to figure out just what exactly happened to Zilas.
Circulating the spirit energy in his body, Nightin made use of the regenerative energy contained within the life sword to recover his injuries while the death sword removed the excess energy that’s harming his body.
“Senior Clyde, what’s the quickest route to the Soaring Sword sect?” Nightin cut straight to the chase and asked his question, his face clearly showed his impatience which made Clyde smile back in return,
“There’s only one way to the Soaring Sword sect and up till now, even Zilas is put on hold just because the seven members of the sect say so. That should be the reason for his extreme behaviour.” Clyde explained painfully.
Zilas was young and definitely had the potential to enter the Soaring Sword sect, he might even be a genius in the sect that qualifies to receive But due to some reasons, the Soaring Sword sect had been rejecting him with the explanation that they are waiting for a chosen one.
From there, hate grew within Zilas’s heart and that led to his actions today.
In a place where carcasses of evil beasts and monsters litter the polluted ground, a man could be seen sitting atop a distorted tree dark green in colour. His sword was hugged in his embrace as he sighed to the crows flying past his head.
“I’m sorry young fella, but I need you to grow quickly enough so that I can finally join the The slaughter path is one of the top three sword paths after all fools.”
After that, Nightin followed Clyde into the sword academy as he told Nightin, “Ahead of you will be what we call the star search route, based on what the rules said when the route was created, those who make it through the three trails will be admitted into the Soaring Sword sect.”
“Senior Clyde, even you aren’t able to make it through the three trails?” Nightin asked in reverence. He might have brought out a greater portion of Zilas’s strength, but he understood that it’s only because Clyde’s specialty lay somewhere else unknown to him.
“I have been failing in the third trail. It’s different for everyone and I’m unable to explain to you what the three trails that you’ll be facing are. But remember this, Zilas is the first person to have cleared the star search route and despite that, his four years of wait had gone him nowhere except for pushing himself beyond the limits again and again.
“Zilas, do you not see the path that we have forged for you? You may not notice it, but you’re meant to be the swordmaster of slaughter and in the near future, you’ll be the blood demon that roams the plains and oceans to conquer this world.” That was the message behind them not admitting Zilas in. As for the person who made that decision, it was Phoenix who had expected his arrival before vanishing thirty years ago.
“Senior Clyde, if I do make it to the Soaring Sword sect, do rest assured that I’ll return to visit you and if given the chance, permit you to enter the Soaring Sword sect while increasing all the facilities in the Soaring Sword academy with a sword artifact. That day won’t be long.” Finishing what he had to say, Nightin stepped into the portal and vanished from Clyde’s sight.
Yet, the world will never be at peace, not to mention the universe.
In the Marshtomp kingdom, civilians were evacuating while soldiers were all getting ready for battle. Before the city gates, a blazing knight burning with flames was mounted on a horse roaring with cooling flames, Infernal from the Evil realm had led his army to take down the Marshtomp kingdom which was protected by four demigods and even an Overlord that’s assisting them secretly based on the information their scouts gathered.
Behind Infernal was his army which were all mounted on unique demon beasts known as Infers, they resembled a toad but was much bigger and more ferocious with a longer body. Their appearance may seem weird, but all of these Infers were at the Great Saint realm and the same goes for the riders.
An elite army of just ten thousand with their general.
“Infernal, what gave you guts to disturb the peace between us when there’s still twenty years left in the truce period?” One of the four demigods asked, a golden watch on his right wrist.
“City lord Hidas, you may be able to slow down time, but that’s useless when all of you are just trash at the fifth transformation. For that, my elite army of forty eight should suffice in winning with their extraordinary combat strength and formation.”
“Haha haha, that was merely the past. City lord Melvin, city lord Bank and me have all stepped into the demigod sixth transformation in unison.”
“As for me, I’m already nearing the seventh demigod transformation after hundreds of years passed.”
“That’s all, I’m already at the eleventh star fools.”
Infernal taunted as he smashed his shield onto the ground, an impacting shockwave sending all the soldiers flying while the four city lords smashed against the city walls.
“You see the difference between our strength now??”
