Legendary Sword God Sect - Chapter 200
“Six mystic swords in place!” Nightin called within his heart as the swords of different colours and forms spiral around him.
“Human, why do you give off a sense of familiarity?” To Nightin’s surprise, the monkey actually calmed down and asked a serious complex question.
“What do you mean? I’ve never met a monkey in this entire lifetime of mine.” Nightin said, only to realise that he had subconsciously said this lifetime, which leads to him being even more curious about the secrets that have been revolving around him.
“Maybe it’s me mistaking you for someone else then.” The monkey shook its head and before even giving any warning, it had already flashed before Nightin and swung its rod towards his head.
These monkeys may be using a similar attack pattern, but the essence and profoundness between them just increases tremendously with each attack. That was the conclusion Nightin came to after seeing this attack of the third monkey.
Even though it was just a swing, the rod was slightly tilted to the right and if he were to just block it like any other usual attack, the monkey would gain the upperhand and perform a flurry of swift attacks on him.
Discerning eyes this chap has. The voice thought to itself as it continued to observe the battle.
Instead of blocking it, Nightin made use of his mystic swords to dash towards the rod while the life and death swords burst into feathers arrows that head for the monkey.
“Humans, scheming indeed.” The monkey said as a circular artifact manifested behind him, it was a golden ring with circular gems carved onto it.
“You wanted to resort to external battle methods, human.” The third monkey emphasized on the word human once again as two light barriers blocked the incoming feathers arrows easily while its rod quickly smashed the four blades away.
“Doppelganger ambush!” Suddenly, a clone of the monkey appeared above Nightin’s head as it swung its rod down.
Sensing this, Nightin quickly dodged to the side while reminding himself that he needs a movement technique that can keep up with his progress.
Ignoring the doppelganger, Nightin then proceeded to attack the monkey with the same move he used against Zilas.
“Phoenix surge!”
Flames surged out from Dylas as it took on the form of a phoenix and flew towards the third monkey.
“Humans. Evil. Sorcery.” Nightin could sense the intense hatred this monkey had towards humans. Not just from its voice, but also its gaze and aura full of killing intent towards him. It’s also at this point of time where Nightin finally realised that this monkey truly had the strength to make Clyde and Zilas helpless against it when serious.
“Senior monkey, there must be some form of misunderstanding here.” Yet before Nightin could finish what he had to say, the monkey had already lengthened its rod while four orbs spiral around him.
“True Buddha form!” A silver circlet then formed itself around the monkey as it dashed towards Nightin again, this time much faster than the previous attempt.
I need to calm it down first. Nightin reacted by taking the initiative to make the first move by using all six swords to attack simultaneously from all directions to seal off the movements of the monkey so that he can gain the upperhand.
“Humans. Death.” The monkey spoke again as it commanded four orbs to block off four swords of his while using its rod to smack the samsara sword away while making a spin in the air to avoid the aurora sword.
I need to be serious about this. With a single thought, flames and wind cloaked around Nightin.
This move might be simple, but it amplifies the strength of his attacks by increasing his affinity with fire.
“Phoenix surge!” Nightin may not have many methods of attack, but what he truly aims for is mastering a move and capturing its essence, bringing forth its greatest strength.
The monkey tried to dodge, but changed its mind upon realising that it was too late.
Anchoring itself to the ground with the rod, it then made use of it to extract power.
Power from the stars contained within the ground of the star search route.
“Humans. Revenge.” The eyes of the monkey turned red while its aura exploded with strength.
Pulling the rod out of the ground, it then struck it towards the incoming phoenix.
Boom!
In the air, two ferocious attacks collided against each other and exploded.
Being forced to bear the brunt of the, the monkey crashed into the ground from the explosive force of the collision.
It may seem fine externally, its fur still glowing golden and its eyes full of life.
But the monkey knew that its internal injuries were too serious for the battle to continue any further.
Gradually, it calmed down and consciousness returned to its eyes. The circlet vanished while the monkey kept its rod. The orbs returned to their respective slots in the golden ring before vanishing as well.
“Human, I’m unable to give you the answer you want. If you truly need an answer, you’ll have to defeat my true form.” The monkey said its last word before turning into stone.
The mysterious force then moved it back to its initial location while the fourth monkey finally opened its eyes. Its eyes this time, were totally human.
“Human, no wonder you give off a sense of familiarity. Out of the seven I’ve faced, you’re the only one who is the closest to him deep down your heart.” The monkey smiled, its voice assuring and full of historical emotions.
“Just who are you?”
“Now then, defeat me and I shall reward you before the second trail begins.” The monkey said as it took out a rod. A golden circlet with rubies carved on it around his head. A circular artifact glowing emerald and gold with markings of dragons on it.
“I shall make the first move.” The monkey warned as it dashed forward, its rod prepared.
Before Nightin could ask, he readied himself and prepared for the battle. It seems like I’ll have to win this battle first.
His six swords in position, he centered himself among them while using all six to target the monkey, Dylas held in his hand to defend himself.
From behind! That was the fastest Nightin could react as Dylas blocked the attack.
Yet before he could even muster strength to push the monkey back and go for the offensive, it had already leaped away easily as though it was prepared for this.
“You have fast reflexes and your combat experience might be immense, but it’s still way too weak. You’ve been resting for too long and what you need now, is more killing.” The monkey advised like a wise sage, standing atop a fluffy cloud resembling marshmallow.
“What do you mean by killing?” Nightin asked coldly as he dashed forward.
“Blood moon.” Nightin chanted within his heart as he slashed forward in a flurry of motions.
Fast. Swift. Precise.
The monkey analysed quickly while raising its rod to block it easily. Even explaining, “You may be extraordinary for your age, but this still isn’t enough. The killing intent you’ve built up is still way too weak.”
“Shut up!” Nightin shouted back as he repeated the same move, but it was much faster this time.
The monkey kept its rod this time, using only a finger to materialize a golden ring finger that blocked all the attacks easily. “You see, this is all that you are capable of showing me.”
“Phoenix wrath!” With a shout, flames cloaked Nightin’s body again, this time roaring with fury and strength. Dylas then absorbed the remaining flames that have been converted into energy for it, glowing a scorching crimson as it prepared to unleash the strength.
Nightin could hear Dylas voice. It wanted to go all out.
Don’t worry Dylas, we’ll win this together.
Among the blazing flames, gales joined in as the flames used it as fuel to burn even more ferociously.
“If you can take this, I’ll admit defeat.” Nightin said calmly with a brittle smile, his body being emptied of spirit energy as he spoke. All becoming fuel for Dylas which released the phoenix at once as it headed for the monkey.
“Rod, in hand! Circlet, sixth tier enchantment! Forest ring, sixth tier enchantment!” In just a split moment, the monkey had already activated six out of the nine jewels engraved on each of his artifacts while the rod fully readied itself.
“Buddha strikes!”
