By the morning, news of the failed assassination of the Southern City Lord fastly travels to the noble families then spread to the commoners.
The Southern people was alarmed by the news. While some people were concerned about the wellbeing of the Lord, some were furious and unease.
In one particular residence, an angry man slammed the table hardly.
“Idiot! Who told you to do things recklessly?!”
“Father, the plan was supposed to be successful and I even sent out our secret black team together with the three assassins from that organization but I never expected that the Gu Family was so well prepared and looked like they had expected the assassination. The look out reported that minutes after the fight inside, tons of guards suddenly appeared than the normal numbers of the guards tightly guarding the house. Even if the black team failed, those three assassins should be succeeded but who would have thought that even they, failed the mission.”
The middle age man was silent as his frowned deepen.
“I underestimated that brat Gu Jingshen. I should have handle him first before his father. Be careful with your actions this coming days. I will find a way to avoid the blame on us.”
“Yes father.” The young man answered before he left the room.
Just as the young man left, a beautiful figure in emerald green with white crane embroidery entered the room.
“What happened? Why did they failed? What should we do now?” The beautiful woman in thirties walked straight to her husband as she inquired.
City Officer Hong pinched the space between his brows when he saw his wife.
“Calm yourself. I will make sure that the blame will be directed to the Ling residence.”
“How did they know about the assassination? Why can’t that bastard die yet? Even Doctor Yun can’t be found. He’s gone missing after we received his letter informing us about the possibility of City Lord’s poison being cured. What if they had Doctor Yun? What should we gonna do?” Madam Hong was restless as she walked back and forth.
“Will you stop panicking?! I told you I will do something! City Officer Hong bawled to his wife.
“You make sure that we will not be blame or else this will be our end!”
“Silence! I am thinking of a way! This should not be happened if you were not so persistent! You even dragged your son into this mess!”
“Don’t just blame me. You dream of that position too. I am just helping you.” Madam Hong cried loudly to her husband as she complained.
Seeing his wife crying, Officer Hong gave a long sighed and calmed his anger and ordered his wife to go back to her room first and Madam Hong left the room very upset.
Officer Hong had a deep thought. Then he pulled out a clean paper and start scribbling. After a while, he called one of the remaining shadows, gave instructions and handed the letter. The shadow immediately left after awhile.
