Lethal Flower - Chapter 66 Arrival
Despite the chaos, there are still many travelers arriving at Southern City gates. In the southeast gate, a big carriage with five wheels was eye catching to the crowd and to the guards. Passersby and other travelers were curiously looking at this carriage. The carriage was simply polished and the carvings was highlighted by black lines but it’s different appearance and design made it look elegant. Ren Tao made the carriage according to Shuang’s design. The carriage was improvised and designed similar to the modern cargo van. The carriage has three parts. The front was designed like the head of a motorcab for the coachman. The middle has small couch where the master could sit and lie to take a nap. A small door at the right side, windows in the left side and a tinted glass window in the front . The last part is the biggest with small double door at the back where boxes of herbs were being neatly piled inside. The carriage was pulled by five horses.
The carriage stop at the entrance for inspection.
“Good day sir! May I see your identity token?”
Manzi pulled out a piece of paper and gave it to one of the inspecting guards. The guard confusely opened and read the paper. The guard was shocked to see what’s written inside and immediately ordered the other guards to give a way. The guard returned the paper to Manzi and assisted their way. The carriage and the other six big carriages entered the gate smoothly and quickly.
The seven carriages stopped in front of the currently ongoing three-story building. The building has a big front yard and backyard. The guardsmen opened the gateway to the backyard. The carriage entered and move straight to the newly finished house.
The workers started unloading the boxes and carried it inside the house. Mo Fang came out from the first carriage and entered the house. A while later, one of the guards came running towards the house and informed one of the guards outside. The guard went in and delivered the message. Mo Fang came out from the house with new set of cider colored clothes just as the carriage arrived at the front.
At this time, another grand carriage is currently entering the northern gate of the city accompanied by the Imperial Guards. The envoy from the palace has arrived.
Shuang was strolling around when the envoy arrived. Above the carriage, hanged the banner of the envoy. The people were shocked when they saw this and they immediately kneeled down and kowtow.
‘That’s the banner of the first prince!’
‘What?! The envoy that the palace sent to investigate the incidents is actually the first prince?!
‘Maybe the Emperor sent his beloved son to personally resolve the case. I heard that the first prince is good at this kind of thing.’
‘Or maybe His Highness the First Prince was the one who volunteered and the Emperor can’t persuade his beloved son. I heard that the First Prince was known to be cold and headstrong. He do what he likes to do and no one can stop him even the Emperor himself.’
‘Shhhh! Low down your voice! Someone may heard your words!’
‘But this visit of the Prince is really unbelievable. He preferred staying at his Lake Mansion and seldom went to public and when he does, he always wear a golden mask.’
‘Yeah, I really wonder how he looked like.’
‘Being a royal blood, his definitely a handsome just like the other princes.’
Shuang was standing at the back of the gossiping women and heard their entire gossips. She looked to the direction of the approaching carriage. She saw the people slowly kneeled down as the carriage neared.
She squinted her eyes as she was trying to figure out the person inside the carriage through the half opened window and forgot to kowtow as the carriage was already passing at their front. The people around her already knelt and bowed down only her remained standing in the midst of the kowtowing crowd. As a result, she became the center of attention.
