- Chapter 480 Discovering hidden danger-End of Augustus's Pov
Amara had smiled softly, “But I didn’t die this time, did I? You came to my rescue, my lord Augustus. There are people like me who can be easily fooled by the lies of others, but there are also people like you who have the strength to protect us. I’m grateful to have you by my side.”

She had said, “You could have just said that you will always be there to protect me.”
Hearing her remark, Augustus had looked away from her.
Then, he have heard her say,
“Curiosity is an intriguing emotion, isn’t it?” Amara’s voice was soft and laced with fascination as she spoke, her eyes fixed on Augustus. “I can’t help but wonder why you are keeping your powers a secret from the world.”
Augustus had turned to her with a guarded gaze. “There are those who would do anything to get their hands on people like me, to use them for their own gain. It’s not worth the risk. I’ve seen what happens to those who draw too much attention to themselves. Damien of the Baldwins is a prime example.”
Amara listened intently, her heart swelling with compassion for the man in front of her. She had always sensed that there was more to Augustus than the rumors had suggested, and now that she knew the truth, she felt a deep sense of connection to him. As their eyes met, she fell head over heels for him, drawn to his complexity and depth. Women were always attracted to mysterious guys with countless secrets to hide. That’s why there were countless vampire romance and werewolf romance novels. Their situation was similar.
As the days passed, Amara and Augustus grew closer than ever before, their bond strengthening with each shared moment. Augustus opened up to her in ways he had never done with anyone else, not only revealing his deepest secrets and hidden abilities to her but also teaching her skills and giving her items that she could use to protect herself better.
Amara, in turn, became his devoted lover and student, eager to be there for him when he needed her the most and absorb every shred of knowledge he had to offer, knowing it would enable her to protect him – and herself – from whatever dangers lay ahead.
Back to the present
Augustus reached for Amara’s hand, and their fingers intertwined, forming a tight bond that spoke volumes of the trust they had in each other.
“Is everyone else alright?” he asked, his eyes conveying a mixture of concern and relief.
“Yes,” Amara nodded, her eyes never leaving his. “Count Constantine and the eldest young master are currently recuperating at the manor,” she said, her voice soft yet reassuring. “The youngest young master has also been safely escorted back home by the Baldwins.”
Augustus’ eyes widened in surprise at her words.
“I have a younger brother?” he asked, incredulous.
The realization that there was a member of his own family he had never even known about left him feeling somewhat shaken. Or maybe he did know. But the sadistic ego of his special-type force had erased it from his mind!
“Are you joking?” Amara asked, her eyes widening in disbelief as she processed what Augustus had just revealed.
Augustus shook his head, his expression grave. “I’m not joking, Amara. I really can’t remember ever having a younger brother.”<novelsnext>ραпdα `nᴏνɐ| сom</novelsnext>
“Maybe it’s that sadistic bastard playing a trick on you. When did you forget about him?” Amara asked, her voice laced with concern.
Augustus furrowed his brow, deep in thought. “I’m not sure,” he replied, his voice tinged with frustration. “But maybe I can find a clue from my diaries. Bring them to me, please.”
Augustus had always been an enigma to Amara, but she knew one thing for certain – he had a habit of keeping diaries. It was a hobby he had developed after losing his memories at the hands of the sadistic ego of his special-type force for the very first time.
Over time, Augustus had come to rely on his diaries as a way to piece together his past and make sense of his present. They were a tangible record of his experiences and a window into the deepest recesses of his mind.
She knew where they were kept, and thus, she promptly complied with his orders.
She left the room, and after a few minutes, she returned and handed Augustus the diaries he had requested.
He flipped through the pages, sweat pouring down his temple.
“That’s right,” he muttered to himself. “My youngest brother’s name is Julian.”
As he continued to read, he realized that an entire day’s worth of information was missing from the diary.
That day he must have fought someone so strong that he used his special-type force, which in turn, led to the erasure of his memories of Julian!
Augustus looked up from his diary, his expression darkening as he spoke. “The ego of my special-type force has become a menace,” he said, his voice laced with frustration. “It used to only wipe out memories I had of the day in which I used it, but now it’s wiping out all the memories I have of a person.”
Amara’s heart sank as she listened to Augustus. Memories were important to any person, and the thought of losing those precious moments would be too much to bear for anyone. She couldn’t help but look at him in pity.
“Don’t use it again,” she said, looking into his eyes. “I don’t want you to forget about me; forget what we mean to each other.”
“I promise I won’t,” Augustus replied.
But deep down, he knew that he couldn’t keep that promise.
The power of his special-type force was too great, and there may come a time when he had no choice but to use it.
Still, he couldn’t bear the thought of forgetting about Amara, of losing the memories of the time they had spent together.
But for now, he could only hold onto those memories as tightly as he could, cherishing every moment he spent with Amara and hoping that he would never have to use his special-type force again.
