Life As A God - 8 Chapter 8
“Calm down everyone. I’m sure that the contract appearing and disappearing earlier was caused by the lack of magic on Earth,” Chronos said, trying to calm everyone. “Just sign the contract and prepare to welcome the Almighty when he comes to Heaven.”
Chronos, being the oldest of the Gods, was well respected. After hearing him, the rest calmed down. Of course, there were some that were still worried. However, when they thought of the fact the Chronos, as the God of Time, can see the future and past, they abandoned those thoughts.
…
After giving his speech, Chrones went inside his mansion. He looked towards the only person in the hall. He was a tall man in a suit that looked like he would never smile.
“So, you were saying that you had to write the contract … twice?” Chronos asked.
“Yes, ” the man answered.
“The only way that could happen would be if the one the Almighty choose decided to pass his position to someone else…”
…
In the ancient temple, the girl, who turned out to be the Goddess of Prophecy, had finished her explanation.
“So you are saying that the 4th Almighty choose me as his successor and now I am the Almighty?” I asked.
“Yes, ” Prophecy said with certainty.
“But…” I started.
“But what? You are the almighty now and as the Almighty, you have to help us take Heaven back from those traitors!” the God of Pride said. He was a middle-aged man with an eye patch over his right eye.
“Now. Now. No need to rush things Pride. We can always get our revenge later. Now we need to have patience. After all, a clueless Almighty cannot rule us,” Wrath said. He looked like a 14-year-old kid with pitch black hair and glowing yellow eyes. Unlike what I would picture as the God of Wrath, he was calm and gentle. Kind to everyone.
As if in a panic, Pride quickly said, “Of course, the boss knows best,” I did not see why he was so afraid. Wrath did not look like he could hurt a fly.
“As I was saying, I was not visited by anyone before I got these powers, ” I said, getting back to the topic at hand.
“Are you sure that no one was around?” After a while, Raphael added, “Even a dead body?”
Reluctantly, I admitted, ” There were 2 bodies.”
Hearing this, Raphael said, “That’s not possible. The Almighty would have come to you when you were alone…”
