Life As A Servant - Chapter 113
“That bitch!”
Hayden threw the glass of whiskey on the wall, shattering into pieces while cursing out loud. Although there was conclusive evidence, the investigation wasn’t over and he wasn’t indicted yet so he was detained in this room, which decently big and more than what a normal prisoner could wish for. He was only subjected to such treatment because of his political status and wealth, nonetheless, Melissa’s actions definitely screwed his carrier and angered him.
His young secretary bowed and seemed unfazed by his unrestrained rage, she expressionlessly looked at him while holding a big brown envelope close to her chest. Once she noticed that he had slightly calmed down, she carefully put the envelope in front of him while saying
“Sir, Attorney Jiu refused to defend you so your wife sent her company’s best lawyers. They reviewed your case but declared that it’s impossible to escape prison and, at best, they can lower your sentence.”
Hearing this, the congressman got even more enraged as he grabbed another empty glass and was about throw it again only to hold himself at the very last second. Hayden controlled his heavy breathing and mumbled
“If I’m going down then I’m going down alone!”
He turned to his secretary and said
“Who’s the judge that’s going to rule my case?”
“It’s judge Bernard, sir.”
“Call him and bribe him! Give him as much money as he wants!”
The secretary bowed again and left the room, leaving a fuming Hayden behind.

“It’s a pleasure working with you, miss.”
An energetic old man whose hair turned white laughed as he accepted held a glass of wine and waited for the girl in front of him to pour the red liquid. He seemed very pleased as he stuffed a thick envelope in his pockets before chugging down the glass in one go.
“I should be the one thankful, Judge Bernard.”
Melissa sweetly smiled at the old man and stood up after seeing his intoxicated face. She looked at Park Chung-Hee
“Make sure to take care of the rest.”
She left right after saying that while her secretary poured another glass for the old man, who was over the clouds.
“Judge Bernard, I hope that your ruling will be fair and in accordance with our country’s law.”
“Of course of course! A dirty politician needs to be properly punished! We should purge our government from such people hahahaha”
“Y-you sure you’re okay?”
A tear-faced Mina raised her head and looked at the smiling Bin, who was holding her in her arms and comforting her. The little girl was delighted to see her brother back and healthy, nonetheless, she couldn’t hold back her tears and cried for three minutes.
Bin helped her wash her face and change clothes before holding her hand and heading toward the dining room. Naturally, Jasmine and her two parents were present, though his master seemed a bit restless as she kept glancing around and when her eyes landed on him, she seemed a bit relieved. Her expression was unusual as she wanted to say something but stopped after glancing at her busy father and Angelica, who smiled back at Bin as if nothing happened between them yesterday.
Bin was sure that the woman who saved him a couple of hours ago was present, her attitude was non-friendly but he did feel grateful, especially after she brought him to Ann rather than here.
“Good morning you two.”
Theodore heartily welcomed the sibling before continuing to newspapers which explained Hayden’s miserable situation.
“Jasmine, how’s Rika?”
He asked his daughter, who took a few breaths to reply as she seemed to be deeply thinking about something else.
“E-eh Rika is fine. She’s staying with Melissa for now.”
“That’s good. Countless reporters should be flooding in front of her house right now.”
Theodore sighed and commented: “All politicians are dirty but it’s his fault for being discovered.”
Like her father, Jasmine also learnt of Hayden’s fate but she didn’t feel anything. Ever since seeing Rika’s state, she knew that something happened with her family and, knowing her friend’s attitude, Jasmine concluded that either her mother or father did something bad. Now that the truth about the congressman got public, Jasmine thought that Hayden only got what he deserved.
After they filled their stomachs and had a great breakfast, Jasmine called Bin to the garden. No, it’s better to say that she held his wrist and dragged him outside without saying anything.
Now that they were alone, no words came from the girl’s mouth, she just stared at him with a complex, unreadable expression.
“I’m listening.”
Bin crossed his arms and waited for the words to come of her rosy lips, which they did, eventually.
“Soooo you okay?”
In response, Bin comically checked his body before answering
“I’m fine, I guess.”
Jasmine didn’t feel angry as she checked his face and asked again. “You seemed a,a-angry yesterday.”
“I did?” He pondered before remembering that he really didn’t restrain himself after talking to Angelica.
She must’ve seen me.’
He waved his hand nonchalantly and spoke, “It’s only a minor thing. Nothing for you to be concerned about.”
“”
A bout of silence flowed between the master and the servant before the girl turned around and left after ordering him to get ready to go to the academy.
Bin shrugged and found a bench to sit on while waiting for Jasmine to change her clothes and leave. There was a lot to think about, such as the troublesome things that happened yesterday.
He’s relieved that Hayden is no longer a threat but Bert and the facility won’t give up that easily. Not only did they want the red crystal, they also wanted Mina and her personal blue crystal too, which put her in danger too.
After thinking for some time, he got up and walked to Angelica’s office.
“What do you want me to do?”
Angelica furrowed her brows as she thought she misheard the young man standing oppositeof her.
“Send someone with Mina or just keep her in the manor.”
“Why is that?”
Bin didn’t reply immediately and instead, looked back at the mature woman sitting behind the desk, he was reluctant to tell the whole truth but it’s necessary to protect his little sister. He wasn’t enough to guarantee her safety and if Angelica has more people like the invisible woman then it shouldn’t be a problem to send someone with Mina.
“Those people want me and Mina. In fact, she’s their primary target.”
For the first time ever, Bin saw the shocked expression of Angelica, who studied his expression to see if he was telling the truth or not. Her index tapped on her desk as she thought about something.
“What do they want from you?”
“”
Bin gave no answer whatsoever, his lips remained tightly shut but the woman didn’t insist.
She sighed and added, “Alright, I’ll protect her but know that you can’t keep hiding the truth forever.”
The youngster bowed and left the room.
“Alpha is back, right?”
“Yes, master.”
A black-clothed tall woman materialized next to Angelica’s desk.
“From today onwards, tell him to stay next to Mina.”
“But, master”
“Don’t worry, he’s got a nasty attitude but he always follows orders. Moreover, you two are the only ones who I can trust with this matter, the others work for my family and may leak sensitive information.”
“Yes, master. I’ll inform him right away.”
The woman was about to leave only for Angelica to say
“Is he still carrying the crystal?”
“Yes, master. It’s the first time I’ve seen such a thing and the amount of Mana inside of it is enough to blow a third of the city.”
“A strange thing indeed. Don’t interfere with his actions for now just keep a lookout on the enemies.”
The woman turned invisible again and quietly left Angelica’s office.
