Life As A Servant - Chapter 84
“M-miss!”
The two men guarding the main gate were slacking off so when they saw Rika abruptly appear, they were startled. They also saw a man in black tuxedo followed behind her. He was the man claiming to be her servant.
“No need for a car, I’ll walk.”
The girl spoke calmly and swiftly left the area, followed by the young man, Bin.
They left her father in that horrible state and quickly left the creepy basement. Up to this moment, Rika could not process what just happened. In fact, if Bin didn’t appear, she was about to kill herself as she could not bear more of that abuse and humiliation.
The two walked for at least an hour before they stopped at an empty large park. Neither of them spoke to each other during the long walk, they didn’t even look at each other. Bin was still fuming while Rika felt confused, lost and in disbelief.
It was almost evening and the sun started setting, causing the place to became a tad darker. Rika turned around, looked at this young man, who suddenly appeared in her house, and coldly said:
“Why did you do that?”
Hearing that, Bin sighed and replied:
“Honestly, I expected a ‘thank you’ but” He shrugged his shoulders and didn’t seem to mind her wavering stare.
“Do you even know what you have done?”
He pondered for a brief moment before answering again:
“I taught him a good lesson. In my opinion, he deserves more than that.”
“My father is a congressman, do you think he’ll let you off the hook just because you’re Jasmine’s servant?”
“I think you should worry more about yourself rather than thinking about what will happen to me.”
for visiting.
He looked at her disheveled clothes, tired face and shaky hands while saying that. Without even letting her talk again, he added:
“Is that why you jumped off that bridge?”
While trying to contain her surging emotions, she retorted:
“It’s none of your concern!”
He walked closer to her and tried to hold her hand, wanting to lead her away from this area only
“Oh but it is, since the moment I barged in there. Anyways, I don’t think you should go back to that hous-”
She cut him off, slapped his hand away while loudly yelling
“Stop it!”
Her hands were tightly clenched, nails digging deep into her skin, either from anger or fear.
“Stop meddling into my business and go away!”
Then she turned around and attempted to leave only for him to grab her arm, stopping her
“Where are you going?”
“Home. I need to appease father.”
“You’re still calli-”
“I told you to stop it and leave me alone!”
She yelled at him again, her eyes filled with tears. Unfortunately, he didn’t let go of that arm, his face expressionless as if he didn’t hear anything of what she said.
“They way you are right now, I’m not leaving you alone.”
Rika tried to shake his arm off while yelling but he overpowered her and held his other arm, pinning her against the tree. She desperately struggled but her strength soon left her, leaving her sobbing, her face wet from all the tears.
Very slowly, he loosened his grip and hugged the shaking girl, trying to ease her suffering.
“It’s alright now it’s all over.”
He hugged the weeping girl and sighed, feeling sorry for her. It was truly a horrible thing to happen for a young girl like her, moreover, she could have been living like this for a long time.
‘No wonder she tried to kill herself.’
He felt a bit guilty about blaming her idiotic and suicidal actions, nevertheless, death is never the answer.
“It’s alright, don’t be afraid.”
He repeatedly consoled her, letting her cry her heart out, no longer hiding those feelings of frustration and helplessness.
Rika cried for quite a while, uncaring about her surroundings, only feeling a mix of shame, fear, and a bit of guilt due to involving Bin, who, from what she saw, seemed to be struggling against his own personal problems.
The girl calmed down only after twenty to thirty minutes later, her hands were still clutching Bin’s back, afraid that when she lets go, she’ll go back to that basement. She even thought that this was but a bittersweet dream and when she’ll wake up, everything that happened would have been a wishful hallucination.
“Are you okay now?”
The two were sitting next to the tree, one was sniffing her nose and the other looking at her. Seeing that she timidly nodded her head, he patted her back and looked at her only to hear her say:
“T-thank you.”
“No problem. We shoul-”
Before he could finish, they heard the sound of an approaching car so they both looked to the side.
They saw a white limousine park right next to the park and the window of the backseat slowly open. A blond girl could be seen inside, signaling for them to come. It was none other than Melissa, who was also worried about her friend.
Unlike Jasmine and Cara, she did the same thing as Bin and went to Rika’s house. When she asked the guards, they told her that the Miss left a while ago along with a young man who’s supposedly her servant.
Since they didn’t get that far away from the mansion, it didn’t take long for her to locate the duo.
