Life As A Servant - Chapter 90
Today was Tuesday, the second day of school and Bin sincerely hoped he won’t through the same things as yesterday. So many things happened yesterday, whether it’s Rika’s matter, the invisible woman, or the nightmares of the past, they all made him feel apprehensive and a bit nervous. Things became much more complicated ever since he started working as a servant for Jasmine, nevertheless, it’s the price he’ll willing to pay to earn money.
As usual, he woke up early with Mina and, fortunately, he wasn’t feeling dizzy, he wasn’t hurting either. After getting properly dressed and helping Mina wear a beautiful colorful dress which made look even more lovely, the siblings headed down to the kitchen.
On their way, they stumbled upon the miss, whose hair was disheveled and her eyes sleepy, she was still wearing her pink pajamas, unaware of the two people behind her. Only when Bin lightly coughed did she lazily turn around.
“Good morning, master.”
In response, she glared at him for a second then faced the cute Mina, who was no longer embarrassed around her brother’s employer.
“Hello, Miss.”
She was young but she knew that she had to treat Jasmine with respect so slightly bowed in a cute manner. This caused all the sleepiness in Jasmine’s eyes to vanish as she walked to the little girl and caressed her head.
“Master, it’s time for breakfast. Go wash your face.”
Bin interrupted her from her dreamy thoughts and said that, though he was ignored by Jasmine, who held Mina’s hand and headed to the dining room. As for him, he didn’t directly head there and instead wanted to inquire about something of his recently made friend, who usually works in the kitchen or its vicinities.
“Hey Yuoba!”
Bin grabbed the mustached youngster and dragged him into a quiet corner before speaking again:
“You’re not busy, right?”
His friend knitted his brows and retorted: “You should’ve asked me that before dragging me here but whatever what do you want?”
Yuoba didn’t seem bothered as he chewed on some sweet bread while staring back at Bin.
“Do you know a lot about this place? I mean Master’s family.”
In response, Yuoba shrugged his shoulders and replied: “Kind of, I guess. Why? Do you want to know the names of the beautiful maids? Or if there’s anyone within your league?”
Bin sighed, shook his head, and asked again: “Are there any magic users?”
“Magic users?” Yuoba paused for a second before speaking again: “As in normal ones or experts?”
“Both.”
Yuoba laughed as if he heard a ridiculous question, this caused Bin to signal him to be quieter.
“Don’t worry! Hahaha all those who work here know as much as I do.”
“So? Is there? Apart from Master, I mean.”
Yuoba spread his hands as if the answer was obvious: “Of course there are. After all, Miss’ father is the head of a conglomerate and Madam’s background is no less impressive. Master Theodore sometimes hires magic-wielding security guards but it happens rarely. Most of the magic users originate from the Madam’s family, which has many high-ranked military officers. In fact, there’s always a magic user protecting her and the Master, the same thing for the Miss.”
“There are? How come I’ve never seen them.”
“Ehh, I think you did see one of them. He’s the Miss’ chauffeur, I don’t know his name but his codename is Silver. The chef told me once that Silver was one of the secretive special brigade that handles dirty business for the military but he ended up working for the Madam.”
“He’s a magic user?”
Bin has never felt an ounce of Mana radiating from the kind driver so he thought he’s just a normal chauffeur. Who would have thought he’s a strong person.
“Yes and he’s strong too, at least enough to protect the miss from any danger.”
“What about the other two?”
“I don’t know much about them but they excel in Stealth so you won’t be able to see them even if you want to.”
“Stealth?”
“Invisibility and such, you know.”
Seeing Bin ponder so seriously, Yuoba grinned and asked: “Why are you asking anyway?”
Bin just shook his head and answered: “Just a bit curious, that’s all. Thanks a lot!”
Seconds later, he left the kitchen and headed toward the dining room, where Mina and the rest were.
‘She must be one of the two magic users protecting the Madam and Jasmine’s father! But why would she follow me? Did she perhaps discover my condition?’
Bin panicked a bit and was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t look at the front and in the end, he ended up bumping head-first into someone. He wasn’t someone with godly reflexes or extraordinary physique so he neither could save himself or the other person from falling into the ground. Only when he came into his senses from the pain originating from his buttocks did he look at the graceful figure facing him.
She wore a long black and white French maid outfit and had an inky black coupled with beautiful facial features. She’s none other than Hyue, the quiet maid responsible for Jasmine.
“Ah!”
Bin’s gaze focused on her face before unconsciously drifting a bit lower, precisely in between her spread legs. Fortunately, or perhaps, unfortunately, she quickly closed them and stood up as if nothing happened. He also did the same and apologetically bowed his head:
“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you.”
Her face remained expressionless as she politely bowed too: “It’s fine, it’s also my fault.”
Coincidentally, she was also lost in thought which is why this happened. Bin wanted to start a conversation but, sadly, his phone started ringing so he inwardly cursed Jasmine, thinking that it was her.
When he saw the unknown number, he creased his brows and said:
“I need to take this.”
Hyue just nodded her head and swiftly left, as for him, he clicked his tongue and took the call.
“Bin speaking.”
“A-ah yes, this is Ann.”
‘Ann?’ Bin was momentarily confused before he remembered the young female doctor who helped him.
‘How’d she get my number?
The phone was a new one but she already got his number, nevertheless, he didn’t hang up and waited for her to say her piece.
“Yes?”
“Come to the lab at 5. We need to talk.”
“About?”
“What do you think?”
After she coldly retorted, she immediately hung up, leaving Bin perplexed. It was most likely about his sickness but, it has only been a short time since she started searching for a cure so there’s no way she found a solution. Nonetheless, Bin was apprehensive as he touched his chest, hoping that a cure would be discovered soon before it worsens.
