Life As A Servant - Chapter 98
“Aw man! Are we going to do this for much longer?”
A man dressed in black from head to toe leaned against the wall and grumbled, clearly bored from doing this all day long. Another man who was dressed no different from the first one motioned for his partner to speak quietly and whispered
“If you got any complaint then go speak to the boss.”
The first one clicked his tongue and added: “I mean, it’s not like he’s going to show up anytime soon! He has obviously ran away. We’ve been doing this for two days but he never came bac-”
He stopped talking as his partner pressed his hand on his mouth while pointing at a dirty building, which is now devoid of any lodgers. This was were Bin’s apartment was and Bert had tasked them to monitor the area and call him the moment Bin shows us.
A black Mercedes stopped in front of the building and two men suspiciously looked around before heading upstairs, stopping before the door leading to Bin’s apartment. This was the first time someone came here, making the two black-clothed men write down the car’s license plate before scanning the driver and the other man. The two people who walked to Bin’s house were wearing black suits and seemed to be trained guards but they were still weak compared to the Bert’s men, who are magic-users and cold-blooded killers.
“It seems we aren’t the only ones looking for him.”
The suited men knocked on the door before illegally breaking in only to find nothing in the room. It was empty and utterly void of people, making them confused, nevertheless, they meticulously searched for the place before exiting it and phoning their boss. The Mercedes left a few minutes after its arrival, leaving the two black-clothed men curious and confused.
The moment one of them was about to retrieve his phone and call Bert, who should know of this matter, the two felt a cold presence which made them instinctively shiver. They were hiding in a narrow alleyway and the sudden chill that run down their spines made them panic. As they turned around, they saw slight air ripples coupled with a suffocating killing intent which made them shiver from head to toe.
“W-who goes there!”
One of them raised a long black baton but it was sliced in half before it could do anything. The two couldn’t even react as an overwhelming presence locked onto them and rendered them weaponless within a few seconds. One of the two, the one who had his baton cut, saw his partner’s head fly in the air and the headless and lifeless body slowly fall on the ground.
This made him even more afraid as shaking eyes shifted to a black silhouette which stopped inches away from him. A cold blade was grazing his neck as he raised his trembling hand in surrender but, unfortunately, his fate was no different than his partner.
A loud thud echoed in the alleyway as the black-clothed man fell on the ground, his body missing the head. Seconds later, the two bodies disappeared and a person clothed in inky clothes and semi-visible made its appearance. It was none other than the woman working Angelica, the very same one who Bin accidentally discovered. She looked at the departing Mercedes before suddenly turning around, focusing on a faint presence at the other end of the alleyway.
Her body vanished and appeared where the faint presence was felt but there was nothing but air and a nauseating smell of blood.
Hundreds of meters away, in an equally narrow and dirty alleyway, a hooded girl with long dark hair and mismatched clothes was panting heavily while holding her chest. Her heart was beating like crazy as the vivid memory of the black shadow was engraved in her memory. Even a skilled fighter like her felt threatened by the woman in black, who immediately noticed her presence.
Just like the two men, who just got beheaded, she was monitoring Bin’s apartment but not because she wanted to capture him. On the contrary, she needed to meet him and ascertain a few things as well as work together to avoid her pursuers. From the looks of it, they knew more about him than she did, making her feel a sense of urgency and desperation.
She finally managed to enter the city undetected and even find his house but not only was he missing, but the enemies were also a step ahead of her. Their deaths will also be blamed on her because they most likely do not know that an expert is watching them.
She, too, was surprised by the invisible woman, who mercilessly and unhesitatingly ended their lives the moment she appeared. Her attacks were swift and incredibly fast, it even made the girl sweat buckets as she kept looking around, afraid that the woman is still nearby or chasing after her.
From what she could gather, her supposed twin brother is called Bin but it has been days since he was last seen and his home is completely empty. However, the strange thing is the powerful woman, who acted against Bert’s people, though her intention still remains unclear to the girl.

“Two magic users? And in broad daylight?”
The black-clothed woman nodded her head and replied to Angelica, who was sitting behind her desk while knitting his brows.
“They were seasoned fighters and definitely magic users. I deemed it dangerous to keep them alive for questioning as there is the possibility of them sending a magical signal that could alert their employer of their location.”
Angelica closed her eyes for a few breaths, seemingly thinking about something.
“They are now brazenly searching for him I guess it’s fate that he’s met my daughter right before they appear. Anyway, it’ll be best if he doesn’t return there anytime soon, I’ll notify Jasmine.”
The woman bowed her head before saying:
“I also felt an additional presence but it disappeared before I could give chase. It’s most likely a skilled magic user but it didn’t seem to in cahoots with them.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Whoever it was, they didn’t interfere when I killed the two men. I think there’s more than one party involved.”
The woman paused for a second before adding: “People working congressman Hayden also came.”
“Congressman Hayden?” Angelica found this surprising. As far as she knew, Bin and the congressman had nothing to do with each other.
The black-clothed woman explained: “Reporting to Master. Yesterday, Bin broke into the congressman’s house and left with his daughter. Upon further investigation, I found out that the congressman was beaten and secretly transported to Fortuna Hospital. His men’s appearance most likely means he seeks revenge.”
The woman retrieved a few pictures from under hidden pockets and presented them to Angelica, who looked at him with a frown. They were a picture of Rika, who was naked or wearing indecent clothes.
“I found these in a secret basement in the congressman’s house. They are the cause of their fight and everything that unfolded there. I speculate that Bin broke in and saw what was happening so he beat up the congressman and left with Miss’ friend. The congressman didn’t press any charges so I think he wants to keep this under tight wraps.”
Angelica put the picture away before sighing and saying: “I didn’t expect this. Truly disgusting.”
The woman also agreed with her master, who seemed greatly displeased after seeing the pictures.
“He sent his men to Bin’s apartment so he must not know that the boy works for my daughter. Make it so that he never discovers.”
Instead of obeying, the woman said: “Master, I don’t think that will be necessary. Someone already beat us to it.”
“Oh really? Who was it?”
“Miss Melissa.”
As she heard that, Angelica chuckled and didn’t seem the least bit surprised.
“Alright, excellent work. You can go.”
After one final bow, the black-clothed woman vanished into nothingness.
