Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain - Chapter 344 Failure
Chapter 344 Failure
As soon as Yohan’s body disappeared, the blinding light of the moon disappeared from the cave and the view became clear for everyone to see without using their mana or blessings.
Lisa, Dahlia and Bernhardt were standing by with worried faces, surrounding Rio’s unconscious body.
They were all just fighting the Banshee, killing the monsters, when all of a sudden Rio appeared behind them and pulled them close, before their shadows rose from the ground and formed a cocoon that covered them.
“Stay.” He said seriously, while the darkness became too much for anyone to see anything. And before they understood what was happening at all, he passed out.
The cocoon of darkness covering them disappeared when he lost his consciousness.
“What happened to him?” Lisa asked, as their professor suddenly appeared and pushed them aside to check on him.
“He’s _ fine.” The professor replied with some hesitation, and then added “He just depleted all his mana, and got a little backlash for using whatever spell he used.”
“Thank god.” Lisa breathed a sigh of relief, before looking around and finally noticing the empty caves.
“Huh, where is everyone?” she asked and looked at the flying drones and staff members checking the ground and the pillars on the cave for any proof or markings, “Did something happen?”
Dahlia and Bernhardt also looked around and noticed something amiss. A bad feeling rose into their hearts seeing the sudden silence and noticing the disappearance of every man and monster previously present there.
But before they could ask what was going on, a senior professor from Zenith landed near them.
“Uncle Graham, what’re you doing here, what’s happening?” Dahlia asked worriedly.
The middle aged man with shiny hair and golden eyes just waved his hand as fairy dust scattered from his fingers and all three of them fell unconscious instantly.
The space behind professor Graham cracked open, showing the gates of the academy on the other end. The fairy professor waved his hands and the bodies of Rio, Lisa, Bernhardt and Dahlia floated inside.
“What happened?” Graham, a grade 4 professor of war ideology for third year students came up and asked the other staff who were still looking around like headless flies.
Trying to find a clue for missing students in every corner, yet getting nothing.
“There was this sudden light in the sky, like some kind of artifact gathering the mana and life force from all the forest to here. Causing the other trees and land to dry down outside.
We noticed the changes and came here to check on students, but there was some kind of barrier blocking entry. By the time we found the barrier pattern’s eye and broke it – the students had disappeared from here.” A staff member replied. His forehead was already filled with sweat and a tired face, which had just aged several decades and became wrinkled and pale.
They were responsible for watching this tournament, making sure nothing happened. Yet they failed miserably.
Now even if they found the rest of the students, the Death God’s sect who lost their next supreme wouldn’t let him go. Not to mention Blake family, when they learn the news that their heir and the genius angel is comatose now.
“It has to be Warzy, right? They’re the only ones who can do an attack on floating islands.”
“Yeah, the principal even had the warnings from them.”
“I told everyone not to host the exams at this time.”
“But why would Warzy teleport everyone out? Don’t they like to use poison first?”
“Who knows, what those bastards are thinking? It might as well be their new invention that they want to show off.”
“Some of the staff members are also missing. Did they disappear too?”
“We should’ve canceled or shifted the exam dates, as other academy’s suggested this morning, but principal….”
“Silence.” Hearing the chatter from the staff members, Graham shouted as he flared his S rank aura.
The pressure enveloped everyone, causing them to gulp their words back.
“Stop wasting time and blaming others. It’s no use now. Go and search the whole islands.” He said before golden fairy wings appeared behind him and he flew up in the skies.
On the other end…
[Loki laughs at the massacre.]
[Hela gives you the nod of approval, saying you aren’t that bad for an avatar.]
[Moloch smiles as the blood shines upon his altar.]
[Baal glares at you in anger for using his puppet.]
[Indra’s eyes follows you everywhere, trying to pierce the veil of darkness covering you.]
[Odin shakes his head for all the lives lost.]
[Verdandi reports your massacre to Zeus, who frowns upon your actions in displeasure.]
[Kali summons you into her temple, curious to learn where you got her blessing from.]
[Jesus prays for every soul losing their life and walking the path of light.]
[Cassandra smacks her tongue seeing the failure of all her previous visions, cursing the God of sun who cursed her.]
[Skuld shakes her head seeing the strings of fate getting broken and entangled with each passing moment.]
[Lucifer and Lilith laughs.]
A barrage of notifications passed in front of Rio’s eyes, yet he ignored all of them. He didn’t even read the names of all the gods watching him, as all his focus was on eliminating the students in front of him.
“Save the students.”
“Lead them to the southeast side. I’ll hold them back.”
Suddenly his attention was brought up as he noticed a few staff members who were close to the cave patterns or those monitoring everything from hiding, appeared with the new group of students.
‘So some did slip inside huh.’ Rio said and nodded his head at the Banshee floating near him.
Though his plans were perfect, he knew fate would send some help now and then to save these people, so he was already prepared.
The Banshee raised her hands and used the skill of Moloch, Deceased Damon,
A skill that brought back all her fellow mutated spirits and dead people back to life at her command.
The students who had finally gotten hope to rush out and survive with the help of the instructors, instantly froze in place, as the ground cracked open and everyone who died in this battle till now, rose up again as undead.
“Who got the numbers now, bitch.” Cersei said with a laugh as she slashed her short sword and a head rolled down which she crushed beneath her bloody shoes.
“Follow the plan. Hold back the staff and kill the midgets.” Rio said again, and hearing his order, a few members of eclipse left their place and went to drag the instructors away, while the army of monsters took their place in the massacre.
‘What else do you have in store, fate?’ Rio thought to himself, proudly grinning at the people dying in his hands.
From the original 1250 students participating in exam, he had pulled a little over 600 students inside this place, and one third of them were already dead and dusted, killing their fellows after joining his ranks.
‘All for the future.’ He said and shook his head, his brain silencing any thoughts of remorse or guilt after seeing the innocents crying and dying under his hands.
The whole scene of blood and gore reminded him of the chaos he had unleashed in ‘Hell’ on Nashi’s orders back on earth, the only difference being now, is he took the initiative instead of being forced to slaughter.
But his smiles weren’t something this story needed, and thus the fate finally pulled an uno reverse.
The barrier that he had placed his high hopes on. The barrier that cost him billions and months of preparations, the one he made a deal with Egyptian God Khonshu to maintain – cracked and disappeared in shambles.
A ray of light pierced the chaotic sky, pushing away the clouds of darkness and blood, and giving way to the shining sun.
A large group of people dressed in white appeared out of nowhere, like angels descending from the heavens and stood between the retreating students and the army of monsters.
[Apollo shuns your actions and is here to save the world from demons.]
“May the light of Apollo bring judgment upon you.”
A voice echoed in the sky as a person’s silhouette became visible in front of the blinding sun.
‘Andreas’ Rio muttered to himself as he recognized the voice and the person. (Andreas was the priest who healed him in his childhood when he was cursed.)
But before Rio could accommodate to all the changes happening around him, the ‘angels’ brought forth the fire of purification that nullified the army of monsters and undead Rio had just raised. Causing the Banshee to howl in pain and madness, watching her ‘clansman’ dying again.
So much so that even he , who was closest to her, had to cover his ears and fall down to the ground.
lightsΝοvεl ƈοm ‘Damn it.’ Before he could stand up again, a notification popped up in front of him that stunned him again.
[Baal and Moloch laughs at your idiocy in thinking you can fool around with Gods.]
[Khonshu smiles saying he provided for what he was paid. The fault is yours for being cheap.]
[The soul of Yarikh sneers at your attempts to use his temple and legacy for such acts.]
[A curse is placed upon you with the authority of Yarikh, – moon God’s banishment.]
[Your strength will keep disappearing the longer you stay in his temple.]
A wave of weakness covered his body as a mark of iron chains appeared on his wrists. Rio tried to make sense of situation yet the laughter of Gods and their increasing presence stunned him again.
[Apollo hopes to kill you and cleanse this world.]
[Lucifer and loki laughs… .]
[The mother of monsters, Lilith shakes her head and glares at Apollo, for killing so many of her ‘children’.]
[Shani looks at your karma and declares you unworthy of his righteous powers.]
[Jesus prays that you can confess to your sins, the Lord will absolve it and guide you to the light.]
