Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain - Chapter 346 Wake up to reality
346 Wake up to reality
At the Zenith academy, ‘Rio’ who was recuperating (sleeping) in the nursing rooms, raised his eyebrow when the voice of Shiva came to his mind.
“Nina , is there anyone with you?”
“The Baron’s daughter.”
“Send her away, I’m back.”
“So soon boss, everything okay?”
“Do as I say.”
Hearing the cold tone, though a bad premonition came to Nina’s head, but she didn’t spend much thought on it now and looked to her side and slowly opened her eyes.
Lisa who was just resting by his bedside, opened her eyes as she heard him groaning and coughing lightly.
“You’re awake.” She excitedly said as she took some kind of healing potion and forced him to drink directly.
cough cough
“Don’t move a muscle, I’ll call the healers.” She said and ran from the room.
‘Rio’ stared at her back for a few seconds and after being sure he was alone, he tapped on his watch a couple of times.
A sort of mana dampner effect started taking place which acted as some magical network jammer for a few seconds, blocking the recording crystals placed in the ceilings.
“I’m ready, boss.” ‘Rio’ said, before a ring on his fingers started to shine and then there was just a flash of light.
Shiva appeared on the bed next second, his form already changed to his original appearance, with no sign of his previous bloody aura and dark clothes.
While Nina, the demihuman fox girl who played the part of Rio all this time with the help of her illusion magic and Loki’s mask, appeared in the halls of Eclipse’s mansion.
As she took of the mask of deception, her appearance changed back to her original. Five snowy white tails appeared on her back and two fluffy small fox ears on her head.
“What happened?” She asked as she looked around and saw a few members of eclipse with downcast looks. “Did the plan fail?”
“See for yourself.” Killian looked at the front where on a big screen the footage from Yarikh’s temple was being broadcasted live.
Nina walked ahead and stood by Riley, before glacing at the holographic screens in the air.
After Shiva left the place, the fight only became more fierce. Andreas wanted to catch the leader and follow him through the spatial link, but just then many places started exploding. Creating a chain of nether explosion that destroyed the temple and everything else too.
Taking this chance when staff and churchist’s were busy saving the students, many of the eclipse members disappeared from that place too.
Though some of them were already too late to leave and were surrounded or injured, this in the end, it came to the scene of now.
Riley typed a few commands on her tabs and with just a few more keys, whoever was captured, injured and unable to run away – had their brains fried open.
{Yes, Shiva took a little inspiration from the Suicide Squad and dear ol’ amanda Waller, and planted little triggers in every core member of Eclipse. Just so their lives remain in his control and he could make sure that even after death, no secrets of his gets out from their mind, body and soul.}
“We failed huh.” Nina muttered as she saw her colleagues dying one by one.
…
Back at academy
Offsetting the effects of spatial displacement artifact, Rio laid down on the bed and closed his eyes. His mana was drained and mind was tired. His thoughts constantly reminded him off the scenes at the temple, about how close he was to success and a peaceful future with no enemies for his family and friends in later years, and how it was all ruined by Apollo.
He never thought Apollo who had always remained idle and was supposed to be sleeping with Leon, would suddenly choose to wake up and guide his minions to ruin his plans.
Years of planning, months of hardwork, shit ton of resources, everything , all of it, gone to waste.
[You can never predict everything, mortal. Plans are always supposed to fail. The only thing real and supportive is your own personal strength. Something which YOU very much lack.]
‘Fuck off, Nyx.’ Hearing the lecture from the goddess Rio couldn’t help but curse at her in anger. ‘You knew what was gonna happen, didn’t you? You would’ve definitely sensed their thoughts, felt their presence, but you chose to stay silent and watch, cause you want to fucking train me and bullshit.’
[Know your place, mortal.]
As Nyx’s cold voice came to Rio’s ears, his anger disappeared and only one thought remained in his mind. ‘Fuck.’ “Tskk ..fuck fucking fuck arghhhhhh”
A burning pain came from his hand where the mark of Nyx suddenly turned into a chain and started corroding his hand. Darkness left the sign of moon and flowed in his hand, breaking every vein and vessel in his right arm.
[Weak.]
The voice of Nyx came to his ears again before the pressure on his body disappeared. His whole body was sweating profusely, making even the bedsheet wet. His right hand lay limply on the side, covered in black veins like lines of tattoos.
There was this itching and annoying feeling like ants crawling on some open wound, eating at his hand -coming from deep within, and when he tried to channel some healing or purifying blessing, it only made his condition worse.
‘Fuck this bitch.’ He cursed the goddess in his mind, not daring to voice his thoughts openly again.
“Weak huh, just you wait…” Rio said, before giving in to his pain and tiredness, falling asleep.
By the time Lisa rushed back after calling the academy’s healers he was already in deep sleep, and the staff could just check his pulse and shake their heads.
“As we guessed, he’s probably suffering from some kind of backlash of Nyx’s skill.” One staff member couldn’t help but mutter as they watched his hand.
“There’s nothing we can do, light magic are all nullified directly as soon as they enter his blood, Let’s just wait for him to wake up and the backlash to be over.” The healer said, and looked at the two assistants behind him. “You two, stay here and watch him closely. If there’s any change in his condition, inform me directly.”
As the main healer said this, he turned around and left the room. They had just received the news that the missing students were found again and academy had just sent a team to bring them back.
According to the report, many of them are suffering from serious injuries and effects of Nether, so he had to make preparations for their treatment too. And couldn’t just stay watching Rio.
“Evil’s Scion are the worst lunatics.” He sighed, thinking he’ll probably have to work overtime a couple of days to save the kids exposed to nether.
Cases like these makes him hate his job. Cause students at these places don’t get hurt normally, and when they do, it’s some serious shit like this, which will ruin his sleep for weeks to come.
“Fuck these cultists.” He cursed and left the room, thinking he should take a sip or two before anyone comes, so he doesn’t lose his marbles after hearing all the screams and shit.
