Lilim Heritage Online - Chapter 245
Chapter 245 – More Mercenaries
“Wow, really?” Sasha was astonished by the sudden notification of another wave of monsters.
“It’s hopeless, Sasha,” Even Natalie gave up.
“No, not yet.”
Sasha had an idea. She operated her guild menu to see if there was anything she could use as a vice guild leader.

The roper family somehow grew stronger while they were let loose around the island, but that benefited Wet Banana Guild.
Sasha used her vice leader’s authority to hire all available 4,000 ropers for the guild, spending all mercenary points cap.

Changes occurred in the available mercenary tab as Sasha unlocked a new tier from hiring all available soldiers. Now, they had more choices to employ more goons.
However, the price increased. Instead of the size of one per mercenary, the weakest soldier now cost at least 2 MP to employ one, while the stronger mob, mermaids, required 5 MP each.
Furthermore, a cooldown timer appeared, which restricted Sasha that she could not hire anymore mercenary until the cooldown timer was over.
‘I don’t know how, but I’ll take it!’
Sasha was confused about how and why mermaids and black slime kobolds appeared on the list. Nevertheless, she ignored the detail as they had more chance of survival.
Now that Wet Banana Guild had the control over new mercenaries, Sasha commanded them to gather behind the city gate, so they could stand by for the siege battle.
.
.
.
*Slick?*
*Slick!*
Because of a sudden recruitment order from Sasha, the local ropers on Wet Banana Guild Island broke free from Slicky’s control. All monsters looked at Newbie Island in a daze as they ran toward the ocean, following Sasha’s summon order.
The mutated jellyfish ropers in the ocean also began swimming toward the city as ordered, abandoning all captured mermaids to a new destination.
At the orgy scene, where Slicky and his children were ravishing female kobolds, all available 2,000 humanoid ropers stopped moving. They obtained an additional name tag [Wet Banana Guild] behind their name as Sasha hired all of them.
*SLICK?* (Oh? They hired my children?)
Slicky also noticed the phenomenon as he was a smart monster. He also stopped what he was doing and observed his children.
The pink humanoid ropers discarded all kobolds and ran toward the city.
*Slick* (Interesting. I’ll go, too!)
Slicky collected female kobolds into his trunk and chased after his sons. The two female shadows, who had finished killing all slime soldiers, also done taking care of the black slimes in their mind space. They followed after the pervert tree as if they were obedient wives.
As for the male kobolds, they lay down on the ground, panting in exhaustion after the intense orgy fest. Still, they smiled and grinned in satisfaction as they raised a thumb at Slicky.
*Woof* (That was fun.)
*Woof* (Let’s do it again.)
Slicky turned around and returned with a thumb up, made by his tentacles.
*Slick* (You’re welcome, my dogs of culture!)
A weird friendship took place behind the scene.
.
.
.
At the eastern shore of Sanctuary Island, the shadow of Calisto brought her forces along with many field bosses. A hundred thousand monsters with the strength between 10,000 and 20,000 were ready to kill the players.
>
The shadow paused to receive a mysterious order from her true self.
>
The shadow of Calisto looked confused as she could not understand the words, but she got the idea of what her real self wanted to order her.
Confirmed the vague command from the real Calisto, the shadow waved her hands. All monsters roared as they ran toward the shadow’s designated direction.
.

.
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
The siege battle continued as the angry kobold army began climbing the defensive city wall. All converted field bosses also charged together with their men.
Still, players were smarter than they had expected. Even though they, themselves, had been inflicted with abnormal statuses, they hired NPC guards inside the wall to help them fight against the monsters.
Many guild leaders invested their dust and diamonds to upgrade their guild headquarters and hired mercenaries to help them against these foes.
These mercenaries had weak overall power between 5,000 and 10,000 as the hiring guilds were not acquainted with powerful NPCs. Still, a few guilds managed to convince a few of their mentors to join the fight.
Sasha’s plan worked. As Des and Natalie had spread rumor that the hardcore server might disable their logout button permanently, like how they did to them at the moment, everybody’s mind changed. More than 50% of the players treated this game as a death game, where they might die for real.
As such, they did not hold back their investment in the game. All wealthy players invested in VIP items and exchanged them to dust. Then, they upgraded their character with everything they had.
Some kind players distributed their unused 3-Star artifacts, weapons, or armors, to weaker players. All lifestyle class players began crafting as many things they could to support the frontline.
*BOOM*
In the sky, Shurka kept the distance from all kobolds and unleashed her fireballs and firestorm. She avoided getting close to dead kobolds for now as she was wary of the soul attack.
Unfortunately, she could not heal her PF by using items like she used to. Shurka sometimes had to swoop down and allow Mii to eat some of the living kobolds to heal her HP or PF, but she still ended up fighting a few more battles in her mind space in the process.
Sasha, Natalie, Des, and Non also embraced the risks and continued fighting on the frontline. They, too, got dragged into soul combats, and they could hardly keep up in their mind space.
But hope was still with them. Moo entered the battlefield!
However, he looked sick. He was paled and thinner than usual that everyone could see his bone cheeks. Still, he was smiling from ear to ear, and his skin was oily and glossy as if he had been resting in a spa.
Moreover, he came back without an abnormal status!
“CATTO PENETRATION!!”
*SWUA*
Moo’s spear tip stabbed into the head of a field boss 5 times in a row.
Armor Break! 150,000!
Armor Break! 150,000!
Overkill! 150,000!
Overkill! 150,000!
Overkill! 150,000!
The converted player screamed in pain before the slime knight entered Moo’s mind space.
One second later, Moo regained control of his body as he did quick work out of the invader without a problem.
“MORE!!”
As if he was a war god or a hero from a fairytale, Moo leapt down from the wall to the dense pack of kobold soldiers below. Many kobolds were sent flying, followed by a rain of kobold’s blood.
The more he bathed with kobold’s blood, Moo became more ferocious and healthier. His paled skin regained color while his thinned arms, cheeks, and legs regained mass.
Moreover, he instantly dealt with all black slimes that invaded his mind space in an instant.
“NYAHAHAHA!! THIS CATTO IS INVINCIBLE!!”
Moo replaced his broken spear with a 3-Star halberd, which was given by a kind player inside the city.
*BOOM*
With a swing, 10 kobolds got knocked back and flew away like ragdolls.
With Moo’s lead, the players regained morale. Everyone released their warcry and fought with their lives on the line.
.
.
[Misha, I’ve ordered all our mercenaries to rush here ASAP. You don’t have to go back and bring the ropers here. Come here and help the frontline.]
“Roger. I’ll be right there!”
Misha got the order from Sasha and returned to the city, worried about their safety.
As soon as she arrived, she could see the chaos on the battlefront. Many kobolds and players were killed left and right, but the defender’s side was doing well, holding the wall formation intact.
The reason for their smooth defense was an abnormal player below the wall, who was soloing against all field bosses and kobolds.
Before Moo, all kobolds yelped in fear and wary, not wanting to get close to this felionian despite their rivalry nature of cat-and-dog.
Misha could see that Moo was not behaving like the usual perverted cat like he used to. Instead, his current performance and charisma looked dazzling, attracting her gaze.
“Is that Moo?”
*Mew* (Aye, that’s the pervert catto.)
“I thought he had the debuffs. How is he still fine after all that?”
Misha was baffled by how Moo’s abnormal status disappeared. Furthermore, he was fighting as if he got injected by the steroid.
“Did he get his hands on meowjuana or something?”
Tama knew why Moo was in a frenzy, but she kept her mouth shut. After all, her relationship with Moo was a taboo secret that she planned to take it to the grave.
*Mew* (Maybe he got laid? Who knows?)
Misha shrugged, “Sounds like him. Well, as long as he didn’t do anything to you or me, I’m fine with it.”
*…*
The two also joined the battlefield. Misha pulled an ordinary scimitar from her inventory and activated her new skill.
Fire Sword Wave!
The crescent flame landed in the middle of the kobold army and caused an explosion, killing 20 monsters with one attack.
Tama did not say anything but summoning her tentacles, getting ready to eat or release her fire breath. She refused to use any more of Misha’s PF for a reason.
Because of Misha’s killing, her conscience was pulled back into her mind space for more soul combats.
Tama checked Misha’s remaining PF with a sigh.
3,200 / 18,400
The eggcat stopped using system skills to save PF since Misha could not recover them as long as they still had this annoying [Mentally Exhausted] and [Weaken] debuffs.
Still, Misha’s psych force kept decreasing as she fought in her soul space, even though Tama had not used a skill afterward.
3,150
3,100
3,050
Every second passed, Misha lost 50 PF because she had to spend some to kill black slimes in her soul space.
Tama had a scare that Misha might not be able to defeat black slimes in a battle that she never experienced. Thus, Tama stopped killing monsters, waiting for Misha to come back alive.
.
.
.
The battle was in the defending side’s favor in the first hour, as many exhausted players still had PF remaining. Several NPCs also greatly contributed as they came here with fresh stamina.
Two hours into the fight, when one of the players ran out of PF, the person was immediately consumed by a black slime.
Then, a new field boss emerged using the converted player’s body.
After the first player got converted, hell broke loose.
