Lilim Heritage Online - Chapter 259
Chapter 259 – Hopeless Battle
On a distance, a horde of 100,000 monsters from various races watched the battle from afar.
Zombies, mutated bears, vultures, wolves, apes, and giant ants formed a formation of 20 battalions as if they were professional soldiers.
In front of each unit, a field boss with the strength of 10,000 stood before them, acting as their general.
Leading these monster generals, a woman was riding a giant stone golem, observing the battle between the kobold army and the roper army.
The woman was Calisto, an NPC and a copy of a maid in the hardcore server. Her strength was only 50,000, but she had a tag as a world boss.
By the order of her original body, Calisto had to support Misha and kill the copied Misha.
However, the clone could think. She saw this mission as a suicide. Thus, she ordered her troops not to move.
“We will not participate in this battle until one of them is dead.”
As the clone was observing the battle, she found Katia and Meimei. She sighed and clutched her chest. The heart pain was unbearable as she pitied her colleagues.
The clone Calisto wanted to free the two world bosses from Slicky’s slavery, but she was powerless against the evolved roper tree.
“Wait for me, you two. I’ll free you from this misery…”

*Kruk*
*Kruk*
Tama, in her hydra form, was chewing dead kobolds after she dealt with random black slimes in her mind space. While she was at it, she hurled all fireballs she had summoned toward Dark Misha.
Hundreds of fireballs rained onto Dark Misha’s barrier.
59,855!
Explosion! 6M!
59,284!
Explosion! 6M!
Damage varied, depending on RNG and critical chances. A normal fireball attack from Tama inflicted basic damage of 59,000 to 60,000 per hit. However, once they triggered the critical explosion, two more zeros added to the original number, decreasing Dark Misha’s barrier HP by 6 million per hit.
Dark Misha’s barrier bar of 2 billion HP flickered for the first time.
After the barrage ended, Tama unleashed a new skill, which she obtained from devouring black slime generals.
Fire Lance!
A three-meter long spear manifested before Tama’s sandworm mouth and shot toward Dark Misha again.
*BOOM*
100,000!
It was the same skill that Tama had hit Dark Misha to assist her partner.
“Mew! Mish! Use fire attack, you dumb banana! Thunder-base attacks can’t penetrate her force field!”
Hearing the suggestion from her partner, Misha revealed a happy smile.
“I know! I’m adapting to her combat style!”
“You took too long to adapt! Heck, keep draining her power! I’ll snipe her!”
Realized that she was looked down and ignored, Dark Misha’s face reddened in anger.
“Oh really? Do you think I’m dead meat? You have no idea who you are messing with, you NPCs!!”
Dark Misha raised both of her hands overhead. Both hands faced each other, gathering her forces.
A ball of thunder appeared between her hands. It was different from an ordinary lightning ball that Sasha and Natalie could use.
The black cloud reacted to Dark Misha’s power. The activating reaper thunder stopped attacking at random, but they struck at the electric ball between her hands, enlarging it.
The reaper thunder’s effect faded as the black cloud dissipated. However, a new threat emerged.
Misha gazed at the skill. Her mouth opened a bit as if she yearned for the ability.
‘I know this skill, but I can’t remember!’
Her muscle memory reacted to Dark Misha’s skill. She tossed a siphon-ball at the energy mass above her clone’s head.
*RUMBLE*
Misha’s magnetic sphere drained Dark Misha’s unknown skill’s energy, shrinking the latter’s size.
Also, Dark Misha’s PF dropped to 30% as she activated a new skill while the leeching ball stole her energy.
“Again!? Damn you, imposter!!”
Dark Misha gritted her teeth and flew toward Slicky and Tama’s location. She canceled the skill to save her PF.
“No, no! You’re not going anywhere!”
Misha chased after her copy while she collected all magnetic balls. The moment the energy spheres got close to Misha, her overall strength continued to increase.
160,000
161,000
162,000
The absorption rate was slow, but Misha’s faint smile revealed her confidence.
The dogfight battle continued…
.
.
.
A giant roper tree, a hydra, and a battle between kobolds and ropers created a loud commotion. Explosion and monster’s scream were audible from afar, which attracted the attention of all players inside the city.
Players had a visual range advantage over the local population. As their game system assisted them with observation mode, which could speculate an ally’s battle when they were not in combats, the idle players searched for any player who was live broadcasting or spying on the battlefield.
Sure enough, many curious live steamers were sneaking around the outer wall areas, broadcasting the battle between monsters. But the main attraction was the dogfight in the sky.
Two Mishas were battling in a spell fight!
One was a mysterious shadow with an unknown strength while the other was the player, Misha, whose strength soared as she fought.
Sasha, Natalie, Shurka, and Non watched the live broadcast of live steaming players. Their faces did not hide their worries as they could catch a glimpse of Dark Misha’s strength.
“Six digits,” Muttered Non, “Nya! This is not right. The game shouldn’t have gone to that stage yet. Many players are still apprentices. How can we fight something that can instantly kill everyone with a single skill?”
Sasha shook her head, giving everyone a bitter smile, “This is not just a game, Non. This game is meant to be a death game from the very beginning.”
“Do you know something, Sasha?”
Des walked toward Sasha as she overheard their conversation.
“Remember the intro ad of this game, Des?”
Sasha referred to the trailer movie before this game had been officially opened to the public. It was a footage where Mia fought against Thorn’s coalition army.
“Huh? What about it? Isn’t that the big boss of this game, or is it about the mechs that we can’t produce yet?”
“You half-guessed it,” Sasha hesitated to reveal the truth as she observed how Misha fared against this new threat, but she told Des anyway.
“I’ve always questioned why games can influence people in the real world so much. At first, I thought those game companies and the government is exploiting an alternate dimension in a form of games. But now, I’m beginning to think if that’s really the case?”
“… I don’t understand what you meant.”
Sasha turned toward Des with a solemn expression, “Are you aware of Lilith’s existence?”
Des paused and pondered. After Lilith had revealed her identity to the Milky Way Galaxy, many scientists and cultists investigated, attempted to contact, and researched into her identity. However, their result was unsatisfactory.
Des also questioned how or why Lilith had so much power that she could communicate with everyone in the Milky Way Galaxy. Although she did not believe that Lilith was a god, Des could not explain the connection between Lilith and all online games.
“I’m aware.”
“Do you think she’s a god or a mortal?”
“… A mortal.”
“Oh?” Sasha was bemused, “Not a god?”
“Gods are not science. I don’t believe in gods. But what does that have to do with this game?”
Sasha looked toward the battle between Misha and the mysterious being with six digits in power.
“… I begin to think … what if we’re NPCs of some kind of games that Lilith is managing …”
.
.
.
Dancing through the sky in a dragonewt’s physical body, Misha bellowed as she unleashed her skills.
Fire Sword Wave
Energy Siphon
Meanwhile, Dark Misha evaded all her opponent’s magnetic spheres and braced the sword skills head-on.
100,000!
100,000!
The damage was neglectable as Dark Misha’s force field possessed the monstrous HP of several billion.
But a portion of the fire slashed through Dark Misha’s barrier.
*SWUA*
Bloody wounds appeared on Dark Misha’s body as these skills penetrated through her barrier skill, decreasing both her barrier and her physical HP.
Reaper thunderbolts from Dark Misha descended, retaliating against Misha’s futile attempts.
*VHOOM*
Again, the magnetic balls acted as thunder rods, drawing all attacks toward itself while converting the thunder into Misha’s energy.
Dark Misha clicked her tongue and flew away from Misha, heading toward Tama and Slicky.
From behind, several skills landed on Dark Misha’s barrier.
Fireball
Firestorm
Fire Lance
Blast
Fire Bullets
Acid Spit
The hydra, Tama, did not wait for Dark Misha to reach her. She spammed every ranged attack she had toward the alternate Misha.
*BOOM*
All abilities shook Dark Misha’s force field, decreasing the barrier HP by 30%.
The rhythm was spot-on, but Dark Misha sneered at the Hydra.
“Thunderbolt!”
Dark Misha cast a basic thunder skill, but the target was herself.
*BOOM*
+100M HP
The barrier HP increased after the lightning struck the force field.
“NOT FAIR! MEW!!”
The difference in their strength was too vast!
“You’re dead, stupid hydra! Reaper Thunder!” Dark Misha charged toward Tama from the sky.
Seeing that the enemy was coming for her, Tama shapeshifted into a little girl and sprinted toward Slicky, seeking his protection.
As Tama was running away, the black thunder clouds above Slicky roared. Blinding light flashed, followed by a condensed power of reaper thunder.
The random thunder targeted Slicky, who was the tallest monster!
Misha widened her eyes and extended her hand toward Slicky.
“Energy Siphon!”
A new magnetic ball shot toward Slicky at bullet speed, but it was still slower than the speed of light.
*BOOM*
200M!
*SCREEEEEECH*
Slicky cried a painful death throe. Its mini eyes looked at Misha in sadness before it collapsed.
>
>
“NOOOO!!”
Misha’s voice cracked as her heart stopped a beat. Even though she did not like this pervert tree, it was still a comrade that she trusted.
*BOOM*
As a monster, Slicky’s burnt trunk exploded out items from its body.
Nearby, a little girl did not show remorse. As Tama was being Tama, she collected all items in her make-shift backpack.
Because Slicky upgraded itself many times, over a hundred items came out from his dead body. Tama could not store everything even if she could use her game inventory.
Without a choice, she stored small items in her mouth like a hamster storing its food.
“Mm-Mm-Mew!” (My loot! All mine!)
An item stood out from the rest. It was a pink seed at the size of a watermelon.
>
“Mrrr?” (That bastard has a soul?)
Tama squinted her eyes. As a young hydra, her instinct taught her a few tricks, including how she could increase the number of her heads.
“A roper monster as my second head? Meh-Heh Mew!”
