Lily Means To Stay True To Your Heart - Chapter 3
No response.
I knew that the microphone of my laptop was working previously to automatically input voice commands to my companion AI. But just in case I was encountering a mic glitch or something, I pressed onto the audio button to leave an audio message. “X-xin? Are you there?” I heard my own voice cracking due to nervousness. My gaze rested on the chat box which showed that I’ve successfully left an audio message, but I could not find her still.
“Ooh, it’s a girl.” To my surprise, it wasn’t the voice I was expecting to hear from. It was rather, uhm- a husky voice that cannot be made from a petite fairy.
Noticing that I wasn’t laughing in response to his remarks, he sent another audio message to me in the whisper channel. “H- hey, don’t be like that. Look, I’m sorry, it wasn’t funny. Do me a favor and walk a couple of steps until you reach the middle of the village. I need help, but you gotta be quick before he comes back.”
I maximized the map to check my surroundings, only to find a small blue dot signifying the location of my character being in an unknown area surrounded by darkness.
I suppose it’ll do me good in the long run if I were to help another fellow player. With my mouse in hand, I clicked onto the area in the middle of the map, my character then began to automatically walk towards the indicated location.
In an open area of the village, there lied a girl in golden flax duster jacket with her face planted to the ground. If my memory isn’t playing tricks on me, I believe that she’s wearing the class costume that of the Healers.
“Um, is this some kind of rituals that the Healers do that I don’t know about?” I replied to his whisper in text.
“…No. I got killed by some guy.” He sent another voice message that is definitely unfitting for the gentle nature that of the stereotypical Healers. “I know what you’re thinking, a pervert is playing as a girl character in an online game. I- I’ll explain later, okay? Just revive me and I’ll tell you my life story.”
“I can’t revive you, I’m a Warrior.” I responded in text once more.
Frustrated, he gave up sending audio messages and resorted to typing in text as well. “You can resurrect me right now even if you’re not a Healer class. Just right click my character and we can talk later.” Before I could reply with any other words, a party invitation window popped up and I obediently accepted the invitation.
Afterwards, I followed his instructions to resurrect his character and the girl in gold climbed back onto her feet with the hp bar hanging above her head filling up in red gradually.
“Thanks! I apologize if I’m being rude on our first interaction, but we have to leave this place as soon as po-”
“…”
Confused, I sent a question mark to the chat.
“Why are you at level 1 still?”
