Limerence - Chapter 6
“I’m sorry Alex! But about what happened the last time, I just want to ask you a question. Do you have a sibling?”
“No, actually, do you have a sister?”
“Or do you have a twin sister?”
Two days have passed already, and Chris has been bothering her with questions after another about what happened the last time. He was interrogating her non-stop for two days, she’s getting irritated already.
Every time Chris asked him those questions, she will just look at him and not answer. Even if she wanted to, she still needs to consult Gabby about it. It’s weird but it became a habit to ask Gabby about her opinion since what happened before.
It’s already been two days, but she still didn’t get a chance to talk to her sister. Gabby locked herself in her room for straight two days whenever she’s around, but her sister will go out when there’s no sign of her in their house. Alex is not sure if it’s a coincidence or intentional but nevertheless she wanted to talk to her and asked for her forgiveness, though it’s not entirely her fault but they have a deal and Alex didn’t get to fulfill it unintentionally.
Alex smacked Chris in the head when she remembered that Chris was the reason why her sister wouldn’t like to see and/or talk to her.
“What is that for?” Chris said. It already bothered him that Alex is not answering his questions for two days, yet she still has the audacity to hit him. It left him more frustrated in this situation.
“For bothering me for two days and for entering the-” Alex said but stop halfway before finishing her sentence. Alex thought that it’s just a waste of time explaining things to Chris. After all, Chris wouldn’t understand the reason why their guests are not allowed to enter their house. In the end, she just left him and went straight to their school gate because the longer she stays, the more irritated she becomes.
Chris was confused on why Alex didn’t finish her sentence and just left him without a word. It only increases his curiosity more on why Alex wouldn’t answer him. So, he just looked at Alex until he can no longer see her, comprehending what could be the reason on Alex’s behavior.
–
Gabby was eating her ice cream in their backyard while relaxing her body and mind. She just finished her session with her teacher and she already finished arranging her schedule.
Alex then came at the right moment. She saw her sister in the backyard, so she immediately approached her before it became too late. Finally, she can now see her sister after those two days that have passed. Today is the good opportunity to strike up a conversation with her.
“How’s your class session with Miss Roque?” Alex asked first as she thread if her sister is in the mood to talk to her.
“It’s fine, I’ve been doing this my whole life, well except for that year.” Gabby replied with a shrug. Alex then responded with a weak smile.
“Anyways, we finished class earlier since she got an emergency. How about you?” Gabby added.
“It’s fine! Same old stuff, you know? Anyways, remember the guy who sneaked in accidentally in the house from my last party, he kept on asking about us. Is it fine to answer him?”
“We have already talked about this, Alex. We moved here to have a fresh start, we wouldn’t like for the same things to happen again, right?”
“Fine, I understand. Also, I’m sorry and I’m not going to hold a party this weekend as a compensation for what happened the last time.”
“Okay, thanks! I’ll be going now!” As gabby turn around to leave, Alex suddenly called her.
“Gabby!”
“Why? Is there something else you still want to tell me?”
“I’m sorry…for the past. Also, I’ll never bring up such question again.” As Alex said this, she can’t help but tear up. Remembering their past is a scar that the two of them will never forget. It became the turning point of their lives.
“It’s fine as long as you promise not to talk about it again.” After saying that, Gabby went straight to her room and cried. It’s not easy to bring up their past because such secret will always be stored deep in their hearts.
Only few people know they are identical twins including their family and relatives, their housekeepers, some trusted people and him. It’s been months when they moved in this place, so probably people only knew Alex is the only person living in this house aside from their housekeepers.
