Little Miss Witch: Revenge Of The Tainted Angel - 186 You Cannot Have Him 2
“You…” Chen Yili couldn’t believe what she was hearing from Lady Li today. Did it mean that Shen Zichen and her have already tied the knot in secret?
No wonder they were already cohabiting together! She should have realized this the first time, so she wouldn’t have to be confronted like this. Several emotions washed through her but she was overwhelmed by the fear Li Chuntao instilled in her. This woman had an imposing manner that she couldn’t ignore it even if she wanted to.
Li Chuntao’s tone was so cold and her eyes didn’t hide the displeasure in it. Indeed, she had let Chen Yili go easily the first time; when she found her at her husband’s office. But today, she was quite bold to invade their home.
Since she wasn’t as forgiving as her twin sister, Li Chuntao wasn’t planning on letting this woman go without a warning. Whoever dared to covet what was hers, wouldn’t be let off easily.
Li Chuntao lowered her gaze, the coldness and malintent apparent in her eyes.
“Sorry, but my husband… you cannot have him. If you still dare to continue your silly attempts to seduce him, just remember that I won’t be so forgiving the next time, Miss Chen.”
Some women should be reminded not to cross the line. If Li Xiuying had put Lin Meirong in her place when she first discovered the affair, perhaps her end would have been different. Alas, there was nothing else that could be done but to teach the cheating couple a good lesson.
Not giving Chen Yili any time to explain her side, Li Chuntao closed the door rudely in her face. That should be clear enough for Chen Yili to not mess with her and Shen Zichen in the future. She turned her back and saw her husband giving her a look with his arms crossed.
“I didn’t know you could this be petty, Chuntao,” he told her. She also didn’t bother to help him clean the table and let Chen Yili humiliate herself by offering her assistance.
Li Chuntao hummed and yawned, sauntering back to her previous seat, before Chen Yili disturbed her peace.
“Petty is the one who keeps on chasing another person’s property,” she retorted.
Shen Zichen arched a brow at her, amused that she was regarding him as her property.
“I’ve just never thought you’ll stake a claim on me,” he chuckled.
“Ah, women. You should make it clear before they overthink your intent towards them. She must have thought that you were interested in her.” Li Chuntao said as she allowed the two cats to curl on her lap. These two had practically abandoned her and hid somewhere else when Chen Yili arrived and only came out when they sensed Shen Zichen’s arrival.
“Don’t just stand there. Come here, I want to show you something.” She called her husband and patted the seat next to her. Now that she already settled her issue with Chen Yili, there was something important she and her husband needed to talk about.
Li Chuntao turned on the device and scrolled to the latest email she received from the private investigator she was working with to find a lead about Li Xiuying’s accident. It seemed that she’d found the person she’d been looking for all this time.
“Look at this,” she passed it to her husband. Her tone was a little disgruntled, which confused Shen Zichen.
“What is this about?” He asked, but his question was already answered by the photos of Li Xiuying with timestamps on them. The photos were dated weeks before her accident took place.
“This…” He didn’t know what to say. Was this the evidence they’ve been looking for to prove that the car collision which caused Li Xiuying’s death wasn’t a coincidence like everyone assumed it was?
“We’ve already identified those people in those photos…” Li Chuntao’s voice was unusually calm, contrary to what Shen Zichen expected. “You should also look at the next ones.” She continued.
Shen Zichen did as he was told and saw a CCTV recording of Li Xiuying and Lan Jinyao being in the same hotel with Director Yao.
“I don’t understand, Chuntao. I thought Miss Lan was a good friend of Ying’s?”
He’d met the young actress several times even before Ying’s death and believed that Lan Jinyao was one of the rare people who treated Ying well without malice and malintent against her.
Li Chuntao hummed and patted the head of her white cat like a villain.
“That’s the first time Ying met Miss Lan and Yao Qigang. Zichen, I believe that was the turning point in Ying’s life.” She was unusually calm telling him this, but Shen Zichen could sense the murderous intent in his wife’s eyes.
“Since Ying removed that man from the film and replaced him, Yao Qigang was spotted stalking Ying on different occasions. I do believe in coincidences and fate, but… being in the same place at the same time… Zichen, isn’t it suspicious?” She continued.
“But why him? I understand that he would bear some grudges against Ying after his dismissal, but why would he want her dead?” Shen Zichen frowned as he looked at the photos of Ying being stalked by that shameless man.
“Not him but the person behind him,” His wife corrected him.
“Which is?”
“Lin Meirong,” Li Chuntao said nonchalantly. In the end, all leads pointed to the woman who caused her twin sister’s marriage to fall.
Su Ling had tracked Yao Qigang’s activities for the past weeks and he stumbled on the records of huge deposits in his bank account, despite him not having any source of income, from an unknown source. The frequent visitation of the said director to Lin Meirong before Li Xiuying’s death, which he discovered as well, was also suspicious.
It finally made sense to her why they would want Ying dead. That bitch must have been threatened by Ying’s words when Li Xiuying confronted her about her affair with Mu Jianyu.
Ying shouldn’t haven’t given that insane bitch a reason, Li Chuntao thought. But still, it was wrong to blame the victim when Ying wasn’t even aware of the evil intention Lin Meirong had against her.
“It is also possible that the baby she’s carrying right now isn’t Mu Jianyu’s?”
With all the extramarital affairs and partners Lin Meirong had during the past months leading up to her pregnancy, Li Chuntao wouldn’t be surprised if Lin Meirong really did make a fool out of Mu Jianyu. Not that she cared anyway. It would be just another one listed as karma for Mu Jianyu for betraying his own wife.
While it was possible to run a paternity test on a child in a pregnant woman’s womb, chances are that Lin Meirong would refuse being subjected to it. The accuracy of the result to be received was at least a 99.99% probability of whether or not the alleged father actually was the father of the child.
