Little Miss Witch: Revenge Of The Tainted Angel - Chapter 215
Mu Jianyu suddenly felt that it was hard to breathe, that no matter how hard he tried to convince himself that this was just a prank Li Xiuying was trying to pull on him, the pain in Li Chuntao’s eyes couldn’t deceive him at all.
Death was something Li Xiuying nor Li Chuntao would joke around. Still, he couldn’t understand why Li Chuntao was telling him this.
“Ying died a year ago. The woman who went back with you, the person who lived with you for several weeks had been me. The wife you’ve been looking for has long been gone, Mu Jianyu.” Li Chuntao continued coldly.
Mu Jianyu opened his mouth to say something, but none came out. What was he supposed to say after hearing this? Disbelief washed through him. If Li Chuntao was telling the truth, then didn’t that mean that he’d already lost Ying even before he realized how much of an idiot he’d become?
“H-how?” He blinked, not aware of the tears that started to brim in his eyes.
Ying was dead. She was dead. He was having a hard time accepting all of it. This was too much for him to handle.
“Killed by your mistress.” Li Chuntao looked away. The pain inside her c_h_e_s_t was still raw, even though it’s already a year since Ying’s passing. “Killed by the accident she premeditated with her other lover.”
Mu Jianyu s_u_c_k_e_d in a deep breath and stepped back. He needed to lean back on the trunk of the tree nearby to support himself.
“I—” Did that also mean that he was the one who had indirectly killed his wife? Because of his affair, Li Xiuying had to pay the price?
No. No, this couldn’t be! He refused to believe Li Chuntao’s words. How could it be possible? There was no way Ying would have been dead without him knowing about it.
“You are lying.” He said with his teeth gritted. “How can you say something like this, Li Chuntao? I’ve always known that you don’t like me, that’s why I stayed away from you, but for you to say this? This is too much don’t you think?”
At those words, Li Chuntao couldn’t stop the rage in her heart and marched towards him. She lifted a hand and slapped him as hard as she could.
“You think this is a joke? Do you think I would make a joke about my sister’s death? I’ve allowed you to marry Ying, didn’t I? I let you two get married because I thought you would be able to make her happy, but no….”
This time, tears kept rolling down her cheeks. If she could turn back time and object to Ying’s marriage to this man, would their end be different now?
“You betrayed her! You ruined her until she couldn’t recognize her own self anymore.” Li Chuntao continued to hit his c_h_e_s_t with her fists, tears streaming down her face as she broke down. “Give her back to me! Give my sister back to me, you bastard!”
She shouldn’t have let her sister marry this man. She should have known not to leave Ying with Mu Jianyu. A year had already passed since Ying died, but her memories and last moments were etched deep in Li Chuntao’s mind.
However, just as Shen Zichen advised her. She needed to let go and live for him and their daughter. She cannot continue living in hatred and revenge. She didn’t want to regret losing her chance to be with her family because of it.
“Give her back to me! Give my sister back!”
Only Li Chuntao’s cry could be heard as well as the splash of water on the lake as birds flocked around to find something to eat.
The sun was about to set. It’s red orange rays bathed the two people whom Ying had loved in this world. Both were grieving from her sudden passing.
After keeping her grief in for so long, Li Chuntao couldn’t stop her tears from flowing. Meanwhile, Mu Jianyu was shocked by the revelation. He wanted to get angry at Li Chuntao for deceiving him, for making a fool out of him, and yet, the only thing that was on his mind right now was the fact that Ying died.
His wife died because of him. If he hadn’t cheated on her, Lin Meirong wouldn’t dare to plot against her. Ying wouldn’t have to lose her life.
The person who had always graced him with a warm smile, so warm and bright that the sun and the stars would pale in comparison to her.
He suddenly felt that his legs were losing its strength but he remained still, letting Li Chuntao hurt him, slap him, hoping that the pain would wake him up from this nightmare he was trapped in.
Unfortunately, the pain only made it real that his wife was really gone. No wonder. No wonder that the person who came back to him didn’t feel like Ying, because she truly wasn’t her.
No way. There’s no f_u_c_k_i_n_g way that Li Xiuying was dead! There’s no way he could live in this world knowing she was gone.
His whole body trembled. He pushed Li Chuntao away and covered his face with both hands as his legs gave away and let him fall on his knees.
Mu Jianyu let out a shrill scream filled with agony. Something Li Chuntao hadn’t expected from him. He cried and cried, muttering Ying’s name over and over again.
His words filled with apology and despair, it made him look different in Li Chuntao’s eyes. Was this really the same man who abandoned her sister? Or was this the Mu Jianyu Ying had fallen in love with?
However, regardless of who he was right now, no matter how he tried to apologize, Ying would never return to them.
