My status appeared in front of me and honestly, I’m not impressed by it. Other than that there was a small bar in the corner of my eye.
“Wow you have an exceptionally high luck for a beginner but it seems you don’t have as much luck in the strength category.”
“Why is it showing up in my face like that? Anyway so is that good that I have a high Luck?”
“Oh, that’s Status Magic anyone who’s an adventurer could use it all you need to do is say status and it appears. Having a high Luck means you battle party will get better loot when killing a monster and when you get the finishing blow on them you’ll get more of that monsters life force.”
“Life force?”
“Yeah, life force. All monsters have a life force and the stronger the monster the higher the life force. So whenever you kill a monster you basically steal some of their life force. Whenever you do that the little bar in your vision goes up and once you hit the end of that bar you level up and all your abilities goes through the roof.”
“Ok, so basically when you level up you become much stronger.”
“Exactly.”

Akiko took out a giant book and dusted it of. She took the papers that had our stats on it and started to flip through the book constantly looking between our papers and the book.
“Now for some teaching that is essential for all beginners. You have to know the layout of the land and how your supposed to preform on the field.”
The place we are to fight monsters is called the Outskirts. Due to past events the human race lost 96% of its land and the only two places where we are really safe from enemies is Lurik and another stronghold far east of us.
There are a few places near by that we can go to fight low level monsters. A field far west with a large amount of slime’s, a Castle in the north with a army of kobold’s living in it, and a forest in the east with goblin’s and hobgoblins in it.
Two things are ranked in Lurik, our stats and the monsters we encounter. From lowest to highest the ranks are E, D, C, B, A, S, SS. With most of population stats and most monsters that we would encounter being E rank.
There is also a dungeon that is located under the Guild. There is very detailed book for what is in that dungeon. The Guild is using the only two battle parties that have stats ranked at A to explore the Dungeon deeper and to use it to make technology that is useful. but since the Dungeon is only for adventurers with a stat ranking of D or higher we can’t go in it.
There was also smaller dungeons that were found along the Outskirts. The thing with dungeons is that it’s a good place to go to make money and level up because monsters are ever spawning. But they have much stronger monsters so we can’t explore them yet.
Then we picked out our classes. I became a Thief because my higher agility and luck, Mikoto became a Hunter because she liked the thought of fighting with a bow, Rogan became a Healer because he didn’t want to be directly involved in the battle, Mason became a Warrior because he thought it sounded cool, and Oli became the Paladin because he was much bigger than all of us and we needed one.

“Paladins and Healers are the core of a battle party. Even though you can get by without them or even go solo, it’s better to have them in your battle party. A Paladin takes all the heavy damage as the Healer buffs and heals everyone.”
“A basic battle formation that could be used with your team based on class and amount of people is having the Paladin get agro to the majority of the monsters. The Healer with provide buffs and healing to the Paladin while the Paladin and Warrior take out the agro enemies the Ranger and Thief would pick off the remaining enemies.”
After being made an official battle party we chose to go the Old Elven Castle to hunt Kobolds.
So to get ready we went to the marketplace with the 10 gold pieces that was loaned to us by the Guild so we could get some gear.
We all bought some badly used gear so we could save as much money. I bought a thief’s cloak, a set of leather armor, an Iron Dagger, and a few throwing knives.
I was starting to look like a real Thief.
We also looked for some lodging and food. We found a place that was pretty cheap for 1 silver a day per room and bought some stale bread and dried meat for 5 copper each. So in total, we were 10 gold in dept so after they pay that off we could make some money.
