In the middle of the clan’s village there was a giant round table that was big enough for the entirety of the clan. There were five bigger chairs on one side facing the same direction while all the tinier chairs were all facing towards the table. Two of these chairs were very big. When I saw them it was clear to me that these were prepared for Natalie and Gabriel. Every single thing on the table seemed to be prepared with utmost care and my saliva almost flowed out of my mouth when I heard Drake’s words why are you still standing here? Get over there and feast on it!’

What can’t you do?” the village chief asked me.

Damn I spoke aloud again while conversing with Drake.

I can’t …” I had to think I … can’t linger around here doing nothing while all of you are preparing something for the celebration.

He bowed a little while saying this before waking away.

When the feast started everyone was already sitting except me the chief and Natalie. We walked towards the three free big chairs that were not occupied.

When I intended to sit down on the left side of the chair in the middle, that upon inspecting it further was the village chief’s chair, the chief stopped me and told me to watch in the direction the chairs were previously facing.

There was a giant curtain, made from interwoven humongous leaves. Max and Moritz were standing besides it and upon the king’s command they lifted it away from what it was covering. It was the night serpent. I don’t mean to say it was a statue of me. It was a statue that resembled a snake made completely of a black mineral with pure silver in its eyes.

I was impressed. It looked very much like the mineral onyx a variety of quartz. This mineral had an approximate hardness of seven. I don’t know how hard the Sabreteeth are but probably softer, right?’ absolutely I said inwardly.

This material looks marvelous. Could the one who worked on this masterpiece forge two daggers using this material for me please?”

If that is your wish, then I will tell the best weaponsmiths of clan to make some for you.” the chief exclaimed. But if that is the case I will have to borrow this miraculous knife of yours again Lady Natalie.”

She blushed and handed it to him. If it is for Val’s sake I will gladly lend it to you” I was impressed that she didn’t speak with a trace of her Naga accent.

I inquired one thing that come to my mind:

Where did you get this giant chunk of onyx?”

Is that its name?” Natalie asked we call it black stone”

Her father answered: We once got them from a merchant who was also a salve trafficker. We freed the slaves and took all other goods. There was a big diversity among his wares but we could use most of his wares. The onyx mineral and a few other items couldn’t be used so we stored them in case we would need them one day.”

Can I see them later on?” I asked. I was very interested in these wares because if they were as useful as the onyx then I would gladly take them. But for now I had to wait and enjoy the feast that was served to us. Although one could probably feed the whole clan for a week with this much food the ones who prepared it didn’t think of the Naga’s and my enormous appetite.

We rushed through the food as fast as it was served. I only waited everytime a new plate was served to apply some grinded <snake’s third=”” eye=””>on it. I liked the effect it had very much but I strongly disliked the bitter taste. The food was gone soon but the party continued until the next morning.

When the celebrations ended the chief took me with him to take a look at the items we talked about previously. When I saw what they were I became slightly agitated but also quite interested.

Meanwhile outside of the forbidden forest there were two armies waiting for the sun to rise. It was the royal army facing off against the freedom army of Mercy.

Time has told the truth that the human king’s men had thought about. The majority of the people who were able to fight in the all human empire decided to revolt.

The number of deserters has broken all records in the royal army. There were only 80.000 people left.

On the other hand the freedom army of Mercy had gained another 150000 including lots of deserters of the royal army.

Now the royal armies numbers were superior but still there were many good fighters which didn’t think that their enemy could utilize strength in numbers.

Although the freedom armies numbers were more than double the number of enemies they did not have many skilled fighters besides the 20000 deserters.

It was sure to be a fight that would go down in history.

It was then that the lords and the king finished their last strategy discussion. They were quite content because they knew as long as the enemy numbers wouldn’t be over 300000 then their elites would mop the floor with them. The king smiled utilizing strength in numbers? Quality over quality!”

When these words were spoken the high priest used a special spell to improve to volume of his voice: THIS SHALL MARK THE END OF THE SECOND CRUSADE! ANNIHILATE THE DARKNESS!”

His shouting was answered by the voices of 80000 loyal members of the royal army: EXTERMINATE ALL CREATURES OF DARKNESS!! EXTERMINATE ALL SINNERS WHO JOIN THEM!!”

These were the last words that could be heard before the two armies clashed. Except for the King, the lords and the high priest everyone on the royal army’s side rushed forward including two beings cloaked in white. They walked slowly but steadily following the royal army.

On the other side every single soldier of the freedom army of Mercy heard these words spoken by the high priest and the enemy army and they thought about them. Their enemies goals were clear but what were their own goals?

At this moment one voice could be heard. It can from their midst. It was Mercy. The one who survived the night serpent, the one who freed the slaves and the one who vowed to free every being in the all human empire.

Hear my words, beings of the freedom army of Mercy. I founded this organization with only one reason. I wanted to grant mercy to those who are innocent, I wanted to bring peace to the races of the all human empire. No being should be a slave just because they look different. My lord and savior has shown me this. When I walked away he had just freed all the slaves, including a Naga. That young man was friends with one of the ancient beasts indeed. They treated each other as comrades. That is why I say proudly to all of you be they elf, dark elf human or dwarf. Those who want to flee, flee and don’t turn back, live a peaceful life. But I appeal to those of you who are resolute to fight. This will be indeed the end of this crusade. IT HAS LASTED LONG ENOUGH. TOO MUCH BLOOD HAS BEEN SHED. TOO MANY LIVES HABE BEEN LOST. WE WILL END IT TODAY AND WE WILL LIVE BUT TO THOSE WHO DIE I TELL YOU YOU DIE WITH THE MOST OF HONORS.” he paused for a moment before he shouted loud enough for the king to hear him:

His answer was louder than everything he had ever heardANNIHILATE THOSE WHO LET THEIR HEARTS BE TAINTED BY DARKNESS!” shouted every single soldier of the freedom army of Mercy.

These words should go down in history as the ones that caused the empire’s demise.
