Lop-Eared Guard - CH 44
White vapour steamed over the water’s surface. The breeze shook the green maple trees, occasionally blowing off leaves that floated onto the water.
Yan Yi sat in a daze, his little rabbit ears unmoving.
“Are you cold, do you want to head back?” Shao Wenjing took him by the shoulders. Every time he laid his hands on Yan Yi, he would quietly release his M2 differentiative ability “mental numbness”. Traces of toxins would enter along Yan Yi’s glands into his brain, corroding his memory and thinking.
The absent-minded omega was defenceless, so he was easily poisoned by the paralyzing toxins.
Yan Yi answered indifferently, “Thirteen leaves have already fallen, I’ll leave when another thirteen falls.”
The spider was used to waiting in ambush and had enough patience to wait when he was hunting for prey.
Just by staying with an omega who he had a high compatibility with made him feel comfortable, so he didn’t refuse.
The eleventh leaf fell. He waited with Yan Yi until nightfall.
Until Yan Yi leaned against him and fell into an unconscious sleep. Shao Wenjing carried him and stood up, walked in front of the maple tree, and casually plucked off two leaves before throwing them into the water.
“We can go back now.” He rarely went back on his words.
He took Yan Yi back to the windowless room and opened the cage door to put Yan Yi back inside.
With half-opened eyes, Yan Yi’s lost focus regathered again. He trembled as he went to grab Shao Wenjing’s shoulder, shivering when he touched his collar, “Do you…want…my glands?”
Shao Wenjing held his cool fingertips, “Of course, which alpha wouldn’t want to have you?”
“I’ll give it to you…I don’t want it anymore…” Yan Yi absently pulled his fingers out of Shao Wenjing’s palm and tore forcefully at the glands at the back of his neck, his nails scratching marks into his delicate skin.
“You can’t.” Shao Wenjing grabbed his hand and put Yan Yi into the cage before lightly handcuffing his hand at the bottom of the cage, each of his ten fingers locked separately in place just so that he couldn’t touch his glands and the injectors fixed to his spine.
Only the most unsuccessful gland hunters would cut off the glands of high-grade omegas to sell them. Highly experienced hunters would directly plunder the omega altogether and then completely possess him from body to heart.
He sat down on the ground and reached his finger through the gap of the cage to gently touch Yan Yi’s cheek, “When you learn to be good, you can stop sleeping in the cage, understood?”
Yan Yi gently loosened his fingers and tried to pull his hands out of the handcuffs.
The lock on his ten fingers was an electric lock. When he struggled desperately, it would release a small electric current that stimulated his skin, the pain forcing him to stop struggling.
Yan Yi’s body turned stiff, a painful expression showing clearly on his face as he curled up and stopped moving.
The servant walked up to Shao Wenjing and bowed as he brought the phone, “Young master Wenchi called.”
Shao Wenjing revealed a light smile as he picked up the phone and listened to his voice.
“Gege, it’s Friday, I got off school, why aren’t you the one picking me up?” The little omega’s voice was extremely gloomy, sounding very disappointed.
Shao Wenjing leaned back in his chair in a relaxed manner, “I’ve been too busy these few days, I’ll go home next week.”
“Gege…” Shao Wenchi dragged on his cry, “You said you’d send me to school before, I waited for you for so long but you didn’t come, so I went to school by myself.”
Shao Wenjing’s face immediately darkened, “I asked the driver to pick you up, he didn’t go?”
The little spider sniffed, “He came, but I didn’t get on. You promised me. Teacher said you can’t go back on your words, stinky spidey.”
“It’s my fault. I had something urgent then and couldn’t leave, I won’t do it again next time, okay?” Shao Wenjing’s eyes filled with doting love, “Nothing dangerous happened right?”
Shao Wenchi was about to answer, but the person on the other line suddenly changed to a woman. His head teacher said politely, “Shao-xiansheng, Wenchi got 100 points in all three of his subjects this week, he’s really a smart child.”
Shao Wenjing smiled, “Teacher is good at teaching.”
The female teacher laughed dryly.
After hanging up, Shao Wenjing sent a text to the butler asking him to change the driver.
Before bed, Shao Wenjing went to see Yan Yi again.
Yan Yi’s body was bowed, his fluffball of a tail sticking up as his body spasmed slightly.
With hands on the cage, Shao Wenjing examined him carefully. His fine white toes were curled up abnormally, and there was a cartilage-like bulge on the back of his foot.
“Got a cramp?” Shao Wenjing pressed open the handcuffs and carried the little rabbit out to put him on the bed, squatting down and gently pulling his toes.
Yan Yi only quietened down after returning back to his original state. He huddled into the quilt as he silently looked at Shao Wenjing with innocent eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that.” Shao Wenjing was stunned for a moment and blocked his eyes. He laid down on the bed and gathered the little rabbit who was huddled into a thin and small ball into his arms, lowering his head to ask, “You don’t want to sleep in the cage, right?”
Yan Yi nodded, gently rubbing the skin of his fingers that were red and hot from the electricity. Trembling, he grasped onto Shao Wenjing’s collar:
“Give me soothing pheromones.”
“…This is just like you.” Shao Wenjing raised the corner of his lips and released soothing pheromones as he wished. Yan Yi didn’t resist anymore and closed his eyes instead, stretching out his back.
“Sleep, I’ll bring you to a nice place after you rest.” Shao Wenjing gently carressed his back and conveniently played with the fluffy tail ball, amazed at the cotton-soft touch.
He patted Yan Yi’s leg, putting him to sleep peacefully with a hint of anesthetic toxin.
The little rabbit slept quietly in his arms, his tiny breaths sweeping across the skin of Shao Wenjing’s neck, like a baby bunny in its nursing period. His finely-soft fluffy fur and milk-candy scent gently rubbed against him in his sleep.
“Oh, it must be difficult to endure tonight.” Shao Wenjing closed his eyes helplessly.
The next afternoon, Yan Yi’s spirit improved a lot and he could drink porridge by himself.
“Let’s go, we’ll play something exciting.” Shao Wenjing leaned against the bedroom door with a black jacket in his hand.
Yan Yi raised his eyelids, not the least bit interested, but he still went, as obedient as a string puppet.
This manor was like another world isolated from noise, separated into a deserted island by the surrounding woods and grasslands.
There was a wide training ground in the deepest area. This training ground was connected to the outside world, where some assassins groomed by families had turned this place into a club organization, often coming for gun practice and bet boxing.
There were a lot of people when they came in. Most of them were alphas of different grades, standing in front of different events, burning with ardour and soaked with sweat. The smell of intensely rich and stimulating pheromones infiltrated everywhere.
Yan Yi froze, his little rabbit ears drawing back timidly.
Someone noticed that two people had come in and was at first stunned, then he laughed his head off, “An omega dares to come in here, look, his ears even shrank back in fear, hahahaha too cute.”
Shao Wenjing gently grasped Yan Yi’s shoulder and released soothing pheromones, comforting him as if nobody was there, “Don’t be scared, I’m here.”
Yan Yi was forced to accept the imprisoner’s gentleness and did not reject Shao Wenjing’s soothing pheromones.
When Shao Wenjing was releasing soothing pheromones, he was also releasing oppressive pheromones to the many alphas who were harbouring malicious intentions. The crowd of alphas restrained themselves a little, and could only dare to watch the commotion of the little white rabbit.
The little white rabbit was really very cute, looking like a duckling who specifically came to play with this high-grade M2 alpha.
Shao Wenjing brought him over to stand in front of a row of fixed targets. Twenty-five metres away, there was a shooting ground and a shooting platform. The walls were covered with all kinds of guns and different types of ammunition.
“Do you still remember how to operate it?” Shao Wenjing put on a pair of protective goggles and picked up a hand pistol as he pleased. He pushed in the magazine and secured it, then aligned it towards the head of the target, pressing the trigger.
A loud bang followed.
His finger only applied a light touch. The fixed target fell in response to the sound before another target rose rapidly from its original position.
Yan Yi looked at that target flatly.
Shao Wenjing handed him the gun, “Wanna play for a while?”
Yan Yi stared at the gun in his hand and answered softly, “Made in China 64, it has small power, and the magazine capacity is also low, it’s just used by ordinary police.”
Shao Wenjing bent slightly and put his hand on his head, “Then you choose one you like, alright?”
The surrounding alphas who were watching the commotion sighed. Some had already taken off their goggles and turned to pay attention to the joke with a ridiculing smile.
Yan Yi stood by the wall for a while as he selected.
Following that, in the shocked sight of the onlookers, he took out a Thunderbolt that was on display in the glass cabinet and picked up a -50 BMG heavy machine gun ammunition.
Shao Wenjing quickly blocked him and with a face full of helplessness, he whispered warmly in his ear, “Baobei, this thing can kill dinosaurs. It’s quite expensive to maintain my training ground. Pick another one, pick another one.”
Yan Yi gave him a disregarding glance before tossing Thunderbolt away casually.
The few alphas watching the commotion whistled and mocked sarcastically, “You dare to fire Thunderbolt without installing the muzzle brake? Your little rabbit paws will fracture.”
Yan Yi turned a deaf ear to them.
When the slender white wrists easily lifted up two empty large-caliber revolver M500, which could weigh up to 2.5 kg, the sneers of the spectators from all around instantly weakened.
Yan Yi opened the magazine with one hand and skillfully loaded five magnum bullets into it, then hooked one of them that was fully-reloaded with his ring finger, while loading the other one single-handedly.
Shao Wenjing held his elbow, afraid that his weak body couldn’t withstand the rigorous recoil of the two M500 guns.
“Step aside a bit.” Yan Yi used the muzzle to sweep him aside, both hands pushing up the safety on the back of the guns at the same time. The two pistols spun twice around his fingers, and fired at the very moment the muzzles stopped.
Four fixed targets in the front row fell one after the other before four moving targets that sprang up instantly fell down the moment they stood up.
Finally, two lightning-speed snake forms sprung up close to the firing line of a human-shaped target. At the very moment they got close to the safety range, they were punctured by two sounds of the guns firing at the same time.
Apart from pushing up the safety, Yan Yi’s hands did not shake in the slightest. He blew the muzzles lightly and instinctively thrusted them into his tactical belt, only to realize he wasn’t wearing one, a hint of loss appearing in his eyes.
This series of perfect shots won the shock and applause of all the alphas present. Shao Wenjing looked at this little rabbit’s soft side profile and the innocent look in his cold gaze as he put down the guns, unable to move his line of sight for a long time.
He began to understand why Lu Shangjin would fall in love with an omega who he had such a low compatibility fit with when he was young.
He was too sexy.
——
On the last day of April, the weather was getting hotter and drier. The roads were crowded with people, already in a state of leisure as they were enjoying a long vacation.
Lu Shangjin hadn’t closed his eyes for more than twenty-four hours. A few of the key personnel under his command were all immersed in digging through all the surveillance videos in the downtown area within the past four days.
His villa had a security system which would inevitably trigger the alarm and the invisible power grid if there was a forced intrusion. However, the system was intact. Only the surveillance inside the villa was all turned off from the inside.
It meant that Yan Yi had opened the door and didn’t resist when the intruder took him away; letting that spider take him away.
Where the hell did he go?
Why wouldn’t Yan Yi listen to his explanation?
Which alpha would be able to remain calm when his own omega was stained by someone else? Those surveillance videos alone could drive people crazy.
Did they do it? How many times did they do it? Did the little rabbit hold him and call him intimate names in a delicate way?
Yan Yi must be taking revenge on him, or maybe the little rabbit had been getting too little care, like a little child who couldn’t get attention and had to cause a ruckus to show his presence.
A lop-eared rabbit omega’s false pregnancy should be dealt with by pressing, otherwise the damage to the body would be more serious. He just made the mistake of doing it himself, eager to teach Yan Yi a lesson.
Indeed, he shouldn’t have been so rough, but the little rabbit had also misunderstood him, thinking that he was the one who made him lose the baby.
Things shouldn’t have turned out this way.
Things he had anticipated had gone off the rails. Lu Shangjin sat on the sofa for a very long time, pressing the bridge of his nose as he pondered deeply.
Could it be that he was really in the wrong?
The ashtray by his hand was full, the cigarette ashes spilling out.
Lu Shangjin refrained from imagining a more horrific situation. He didn’t dare to tell himself that because Yan Yi just had a forced abortion, he didn’t resist at all under the state of both his mental and physical trauma.
The more he dared not think about it, the more this thought lingered in his mind. He clutched his head, which was about to explode in pain, and threw the table of documents onto the ground.
The phone rang, ill-timed. Lu Shangjin’s gaze immediately followed. After seeing the familiar number, his eyes sank.
Xia Pingtian leaned on the sofa with a cigarette in his mouth, “Jin ge, my contract…”
There was silence on the phone for three seconds.
Then suddenly, a roar almost broke the tone:
“I’m fucking looking for a rabbit! My rabbit!”
