Lop-Eared Guard - CH 46
The training ground was filled with blood as broken limbs and debris scattered all over.
The piranha alpha fell at his feet. Yan Yi made a cut on the glands of the corpse. After the glands were completely damaged, he waved his hand to shake off the sticky blood on the blade.
Yan Yi drooped his eyelids and lifted the piranha alpha’s chin with the tip of his blade, exposing his neck to take a look at the brand on it.
“PBB000036.” He read silently before glancing back at the seven or eight silent J1 alphas surrounding him. Feeling that the degree of threat to himself was zero, he acted as if no one was present and kept the blade away.
Several J1 alphas turned around and ran, but the entrance was sealed by a thick and sticky spider web, tightly blocking any gaps.
The armed bodyguards swarmed forward and firmly pressed the group of escaping rats onto the ground as they lingered on with their last breaths, taking them away one by one.
Shao Wenjing slid down from the high platform along a strand of sturdy spider silk and landed in front of Yan Yi.
At this moment, the surging current in his chest had yet to calm down.
He reached out a hand, wanting to tuck a wisp of stray hair from in front of his forehead behind his ear for him.
Shining with cold light, the Tachi blade suddenly lifted and pointed at Shao Wenjing’s throat. Yan Yi pointed the blade at him expressionlessly, not allowing him to get any closer.
A wisp of opium poppy floated in the air, wrapped in enthusiastic courtship pheromones.
Shao Wenjing’s hand stilled in mid-air as he just came back to his senses. However, the alpha’s instinct that urged his courtship pheromones to spill from his glands had already emitted into the air. He tried his best to control and restrain himself, but Yan Yi should have already been aware of it.
The alpha’s innate desire to conquer abruptly rose from the depths of his heart. Shao Wenjing was also inevitably captivated by the high-grade omega.
Yan Yi asked softly, “When can I go out?”
Shao Wenjing restored his usual elegant appearance and knocked the back of the blade with his fingers, raising the corners of his lips, “What do you want to do outside?”
Yan Yi was stunned for a moment.
He tried to recall, but the memories in his mind became a little muddled. He still remembered the dinner last night, but he couldn’t remember some things clearly.
“Let’s go, the smell of blood here is too pungent, it’ll give you a headache if you stay long.” Shao Wenjing leaned to the side to avoid the blade and went close to the little white rabbit standing opposite him lost in thought. He then gently held his neck, fingers vaguely sweeping across the skin of his glands, and a strand of undetectable toxin travelled along his glandular nerve and entered his brain.
“…” Yan Yi slipped the blade back into its sheath before conveniently tossing the snake-skin Tachi sword to Shao Wenjing, “It’s not bad.”
“Do you like it?” Shao Wenjing walked out of the training ground with him in his arms, “I’ve also collected a few famous battle swords. I’ll take you to have a look at the armoury during the day tomorrow.”
Yan Yi had a confused look in his eyes, but he couldn’t tell what was unusual.
“Who are you…” He murmured.
“My surname is Shao, you’ve been calling me Wenjing.”
Shao Wenjing held Yan Yi’s waist and lifted him up onto the iron railing as though they were the most natural couple. He raised his head intimately as gentleness brimmed in his peach blossom eyes:
“Your servant1.”
Yan Yi’s empty eyes were unable to focus on the face in front of him. An unfamiliar and indifferent face overlapped with Shao Wenjing’s, as the cold and heroic facial features gradually blurred, turning into a softly-edged alpha face, profoundly beautiful.
He placed his hand on Shao Wenjing’s cheek, his face becoming more familiar the longer he looked. The stern face engraved in his mind for years seemed to have been effaced by an eraser, erasing the shadows and wiping out the lines. The more he tried to remember, the faster it was erased.
Yan Yi braced his head as he curled up and let out a scream, grabbing the last withering petal in the endless darkness and turning it into ashes that quickly parted away from his palm.
“It’s okay, I’m here.” Shao Wenjing lifted the little rabbit off the railing.
Yan Yi suddenly hugged him tightly. Trembling in his arms, he buried his face in his neck, his rapid breathing brushing against Shao Wenjing’s skin.
Shao Wenjing stroked his arm, finding it covered in goosebumps. The heart in his chest was fluttering like a soft feather.
The charm of the A3 omega was something he could not resist.
Fighting in the bloodbath of the heated battle, with his slender waist and ruthless expression in his eyes, it was as astonishing as if the starlight shone through his irises.
And when he threw himself into his arms and weakly hugged the alpha’s neck, his rapid heartbeat showed his fear and grievances, yet it had the ability to conquer a hard and vicious heart to turn into soft spring water.
To have such an omega was a pretty good thing.
Shao Wenjing carried the tired little rabbit back to his residence and paced a whole round in his bedroom, a little concerned that the cage he had placed before seemed too cold and narrow.
Yan Yi silently glanced at the cold iron cage that he was lying in before and wrapped his arms tighter around Shao Wenjing, “I’m not sleeping here.”
The faint burn was still there at the base of his finger. This prison with the electric locks still gave him lingering fears.
“Okay, don’t sleep here.” Shao Wenjing agreed softly.
He asked the servant to take him to wash off the blood from his body, change into refreshing pyjamas, and sent into his own bedroom.
Yan Yi stepped on the soft and shaggy carpet barefoot, a drop of water falling from his hair and gliding down his neck, bringing out a hint of sweet milk-candy scent.
Shao Wenjing had his head leaned against the headboard to read, but when he looked up he saw Yan Yi squeezing the water from his hair with a towel as he sat next to his bed. His wet little tail peeked out from his pyjama bottoms, soaking the sheets a little.
“Should I sleep here.”
Yan Yi stared at his toes and thought in confusion.
His pale feet had become rosy due to the hot bath water, leaving two small paw prints on the shaggy carpet.
A pair of arms suddenly wrapped around his waist. Shao Wenjing pressed up against him and kissed his ear, “Why aren’t you coming up?”
Yan Yi asked with uncertainty, “Have I always slept here before.”
“Of course.” Shao Wenjing carried the little rabbit into his lap, lightly clasping Yan Yi’s hands in his.
Yan Yi noticed a platinum ring on the ring finger of his left hand. Surprised, he looked at his own right hand, finding that he wore a ring of the same style.
“We’ve been married for a long time.” Shao Wenjing sighed in his ear, “You never liked me.”
The little rabbit’s ears stood up in alert. Shao Wenjing put his chin on top of his head, and the little rabbit’s ears patted his cheeks before falling back down, very soft and hot.
Yan Yi thought for a while. It seemed like such a thing that happened.
In his memory, he did get married before, but he was also a rambunctious rabbit.
He was often spending one-night stands with other alphas, occationally bringing the alphas he provided for2 to his home to have sex with.
Shao Wenjing buried his face into Yan Yi’s shoulder and muttered in a low voice, “Is there something bad about me? Why don’t you like me?”
Yan Yi turned his head in confusion, seeing this alpha’s peach blossom eyes filled with a layer of tears swirling in his eyes. His mesmerising eyes blinked and tears dripped onto his shoulders, making him tremble.
“…There’s nothing bad about you…” A little dull, Yan Yi turned around and touched Shao Wenjing’s eyes, “I’m sorry…”
He actually did such bad things.
Shao Wenjing took Yan Yi into his arms, letting him feel the beating of his heart.
Where Yan Yi could not see, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up proudly. The little rabbit’s expression was too marvellous, the apologetic look in his eyes was like a young man repenting his sins of the past.
The paralyzing toxin that had built up in his brain reached a threshold, and under his influence, it caused a pleasant memory mishap.
He pressed over and pounced onto Yan Yi before kissing his glands from behind.
Yan Yi didn’t resist as he let Shao Wenjing’s courtship pheromones connect with his own, the high degree of fit making Yan Yi feel comfortable and relaxed.
“I like you.” Shao Wenjing said, leaning into his ear from behind, “Let’s live a good life in the future, okay?”
Yan Yi turned his head, revealing a hint of a smile without malice, “Okay…”
Shao Wenjing paused.
In that moment, a sudden thought went into his mind, wanting to hog the brightness in front of him.
He lowered his head, and his sharp canine teeth were instantly etched into the glands on the back of Yan Yi’s neck.
Yan Yi gave a muffled grunt.
The alpha’s powerful pheromones thundered as it rushed into his body, rampaging through his veins.
Shao Wenjing released more intense courtship pheromones. The pheromones with a 87% fit were simply irresistible to an omega on the verge of a mental breakdown.
Yan Yi clutched the bed sheets tightly with his fingers and arched his body as he trembled wildly. A wisp of poppy fragrance injected into his glands, while a large amount of milk-candy scented pheromones spread to every corner of the room.
Like an addictive opium, it’s frightening but impossible to resist.
Shao Wenjing bit the back of his neck, his soft, smiling eyes were bloodshot and red. He grabbed Yan Yi’s legs and spread them apart.
Yan Yi felt pain, but it was immediately washed away by the soothing highly compatible pheromones, replaced by the ultimate joy that overflowed in him. The grief of loving but not receiving it, and the despair of losing a child, all clogged his heart, almost driving him crazy.
He wept silently, the spark fading from his eyes.
Forget it all, then.
All the chaotic memories he did not dare to even think about should be forgotten.
“Does it hurt?” Shao Wenjing unfastened his belt with one hand, trying to be as gentle as possible so as to not cause unnecessary pain to the little rabbit.
Just seeing Yan Yi’s lost eyes, he was still worried for a moment that he would break the little rabbit under him and shatter him.
He had not yet penetrated into Yan Yi’s body, when a child’s hysterical cry suddenly erupted from outside the hidden bedroom door.
Startled, Shao Wenjing patted Yan Yi’s back lightly, “Give me a minute.”
He hurried out of the bedroom and saw Shao Wenchi sitting outside the bedroom door, out of breath from crying.
Shao Wenchi hurriedly leaned over and picked up his little brother, “Why are you here, don’t cry, what’s the matter?”
Shao Wenchi cried to the point it gave him hiccups, tears covering his tender face, “Don’t bully the bunny who saved Wenchi.”
Shao Wenjing was stunned for a moment.
“The car came over, and bunny took Wenchi away. Stinky spidey, don’t bully him…” Shao Wenchi cried so hard he couldn’t breathe. He held a pack of tissues tightly in his hand in front of him, the tissue packaging giving off a faint scent of milk-candy.
The light smile that Shao Wenjing always carried with his calm apperance stiffened on his face.
——
On weekends, extremely congested traffic went on for hundreds of metres, slowly winding and wriggling along.
The pungent smell of gasoline and exhaust made people restless and irritable, like a transpiring virus emitting in the gaps of congested vehicles. Occasionally, fierce horns would be replaced by a series of swearing from the drivers ahead.
A Bentley Continental went the wrong way in the emergency lane with multiple police cars chasing behind him.
Lu Shangjin wearily tore off the medical tape on the back of his hand, revealing a bloody gash which he accidentally scraped when he ripped off the infusion needle.
He glanced in the rearview mirror. Seeing the police cars in the chase, he quickly got off the ramp.
Right then, he suddenly had a flashback in an untimely manner.
When he was young, he often car-raced with Yan Yi in Yungas.
On the edge of a steep cliff, the pair was smoking with their backs against the car door.
Yan Yi sat on the hood, nesting his helmet between his legs as his little rabbit ears briskly twitched. He turned his head and asked with a smile, “Jin ge, why can’t I catch up to you, what are the techniques, teach me.”
Lu Shangjin let out a breath of smoke and raised his eyebrows proudly, “Catch up, and I’ll teach you.”
No more.
Lu Shangjin smashed the steering wheel hard.
He didn’t need the little rabbit to keep chasing him.
As long as he comes back, Yan Yi doesn’t need to do anything. Lu Shangjin just needs him to come back soon.
