Lord Of Blood - Volume 1 Chapter 6 Style
“Wow, a rather strong lung you got there.” Linus only smirked when he saw Integra scream so loudly.
Then he moved closer to her which got another rather peculiar reaction from the blonde woman.
She moved slightly back and pulled a gun from one of the drawers close to her and pointed it at him with a fierce glare placed on her face. Not even regarding her n.a.k.e.d upper body.
Linus stopped moving when he saw that weapon pointed at him. He c.o.c.ked his head sideways. “Is this place basically littered with guns?”
“Don’t you dare move an inch further…”, ordered Integra now.
“Hey, I just wanted to help with drying that hair of yours. Got to be a hassle with that length of it, no?” Linus once again smirked.
This woman really had an iron will and the next second he moved he would probably get a bullet in his head. He could literally feel the cold killing intent oozing from her body currently.
Just then and there he also felt something move close by and his eyes traveled towards the shadow that Integra cast from the light in the room.
At first, a small shadowy mass collected itself on the ground until it became Alucard’s face and his whole body slowly formed and rose upwards from her shadow.
“You called, Integra?” Alucard just stared at Linus while asking her.
“Why is he running around freely inside the mansion? Didn’t I tell you to take care of the two problems you dragged here with you? If they misbehave, the order is to dispose of them”
Linus just raised both his eyebrows hearing how she actually saw Seras and himself.
And while looking at her cold eyes he knew she was not kidding. She clearly had some underlying intent against them both. That agitated Linus somewhat and her words warped into a threat inside his mind. Before Alucard could answer her question Linus started to talk in a rather displeased tone.
“That high and mighty attitude…” His eyes squinted and a red gleam appeared in them. “You should consider lowering it in front of me. I really tried to be friendly here but you kinda make it hard to remain that way. You also seem to misunderstand something…”
His hand slowly stretched out and arrived resting on the gun she was holding. With a slight pinch of his fingers, he indented the barrel so that the gun was made useless.
That action received a smirk from Alucard. He was closely watching his movements and if he had dared to do anything more than that he would have attacked. Otherwise, he likes to
“I am not your servant or tool to be used or discarded as you please, woman. I already told to your…servant here…that I would act on my own accord.”
Integra her eyes still remained on him and they became even more ferocious as if a beast awakened after his words. “Then you are a threat!”
“Alucard…”, she continued and was about to give him an order.
But surprisingly Alucard started chuckling at that moment. “He didn’t attack you so it should be fine, no? Besides, I was the one that told him he could use the bathroom in this room.”
Hearing his words a brow from Integra twitched and she changes her gaze from Linus to Alucard. “What exactly were you thinking…First that girl and now this? Are you getting disobedient?”
Alucard only remained silent on that question.
With a small snort Integra just ignored everything now and then started to leave the room.
“You better take care of this sorry excuse of a man.” With those words, she completely left.
Linus just glanced after her. “Damn…So, that is going to be my employer? That woman really needs to get laid badly. Haven’t seen such a stuck up stick in the butt for quite a while now.”
Then he looked at Alucard. “But looking at you it seems she is your kind of woman, huh?” Alucard was smirking back at him when he heard that question.
“Isn’t she lovely? A true example of a human deserving respect.”
“Not sure about that. But I guess being born into a family of supernatural hunters is something else. The legacy of the blood flowing inside her always demanding excellence. Rather burdensome, I did say.”
He sighed and could really understand her attitude but that didn’t mean he liked it one bit.
“So, Alucard, is it? Huh…Dracula, classy. I am not going to pry too much further in that matter but I do have one question. Did you really discard your identity as Count Vlad Tepes Dracula?”
Hearing that name spelled out by him made Alucard slightly shocked and his demeanor got a lot more menacing from one second to the other. “You really better stay out of matter that doesn’t concern you, kid. Get done with what you are here for and meet up with my fledgling to get training going.”
Right after his words he dissolved into mist and disappeared.
Linus just stood there and looked to contemplate something. Then he moved his head towards the mirror and a reflection showed him his gleaming crimson glare that was placed on his face.
But that was not the only thing. His body seemed to cast a creepy shadow in the reflection that let Linus frown deeply. The shadow seemed to form a creepy smile and Linus instantly smashed the mirror.
“And you f.u.c.ker also followed me here…Great” With a large sigh he ignored the now shattered mirror and went on ahead and finally took the shower he was here to get.
Later when he came out of the bathroom he could see a set of clothing lying on the spot where his blood-drenched ones lay before.
“Another uniform? Really? And this color…” Linus was slightly displeased to wear such a uniform.
“That is the standard clothing of all operators of our Hellsing household.” A male voice resounded after his comment.
That slightly shocked Linus and he looked over to an old man that was dressed like some bartender. How did I not notice him? I even noticed Alucard moving around previously…Looks like my senses are still not yet stable…
“And you are?”, asked Linus while actually knowing him.
“Walter C. Dornez. I am the butler of the Hellsing family. And I am going to be responsible for your now specific needs. It is a pleasure to meet you.”, answered the old man with a smile.
“Hey, could you maybe give me something else to wear? I do like what you are wearing actually. At least someone in this household has style. Well, maybe change that white shirt into a burgundy color would make it look a slight bit better. Can you do that for me?”
Walter actually was surprised by his request. And he started to smile because he liked the compliment he got from this young man. “That is not a problem. Consider it done. Just wait a moment, please.”
“Thanks. Oh yeah. The names Linus.”
Walter bowed slightly and then moved out of the room.
Linus could tell that his steps were extremely silent. He was definitely an experienced assassin. Even his age didn’t dull him that much. He somewhat felt respectful towards this butler.
